I think this may also be a good time to get into "side" items that relate to the business as well. Not go warehouse-deep in machinery and new skus, but offer something that others, even in the same niche, do not. For example, I am looking into a simple laser etcher. Why? People "always" recommend costers, and that can apply to candles as well. How? Personalized or branded etching on slate coasters for "candle table protectors" as glass can get hot. At the same time, you can cross suggest if they need etching done, to remember you. Even if no one takes up the offer for custom, you still have a "candle product" to offer. Anyways, just a random idea to anyone else who is watching. I'm currently also taking the time to test and perfect hidden color-change wax melts. I can do it small scale but can't figure out the process yet for the group.

So true! and what I have seen also is that people are turning more onto buying essential oils for their diffusers instead of candles, as they are great sellers because of health issues (some oils are good for the lungs, etc.)

Your hit it just right on this one! Work with the supplies you have and really be price conscious ! Go through what you already have and get that inventory moving before you buy more no matter how tempting it might be to get the “new release fragrance or jars” . Great video !!!

I've booked my shows for the year. I've found organizers are limiting the number of makers for specific products which is why I booked early! I've also gone back to my basics. I'll use 2 candle jars that I know work for me. My fragrances will be limited. I've found that less is more.

I’m definitely cutting my line back this year and ordering just the absolutely necessary items. All the new oils are so tempting but not different enough for me to make a huge leap to something new.

The other thing too many people are buying nice size candles at HL, HG all the major stores for 10 dollars or less that are actually really good. With prices like that it's very hard to compete against when those are just as good as yours 😢.
