This is an awesome video Im 20 years old.. didnt grow up with cassettes but i’d been interested for years after seeing so many small experimental artists i listen to release limited tapes, sometimes even put out projects strictly on cassette and have no mp3’s uploaded on the internet at all.. So i finally picked a sony Walkman up from ebay, im super happy with it, the WM-EX356, it had a brand new belt replacement and it has dolby noise reduction and mega bass switches/dials Ive picked up a few tapes already and im enjoying it, but i was talking to my mom the other day and she told me she used to have SO MANY tapes back at the height of their popularity, some just rare mixtapes too but she threw her entire collection out because she thought they were useless after CDs came out 😭 I wouldve loved to hear them
Some of my friends did the same thing. They threw away all their tapes when CDs came out. A real shame...I think cassettes tapes are my favorite music format.
Hi I'm 47 I grew up with cassettes and when cds came along went with cds! Cds are better! For years meaning decades lol I had no interest in cassettes tapes until this year again. I had not listened or bought a cassette tape maybe since 1990 when I bought my first cd player lol. I forgot the sound and fun they are. Yes they make noise etc. But that's the point and fun of them. Have fun you can find great tapes and artist at thrift stores and local record stores not box ones lol at good prices and have fun doing it .Good luck.
I own Kiss Revenge along with Gene Simmon's 1978, Animalize 1984. Those are the only 3 Cassette's of Kiss i've found last year. I also have Def Leppard Slang. My first classic rock Cassette was Bon Jovi Cross Roads 1986. It's a Black tape. My mom found the tape for me. I just bought Whitesnake today with my 3rd cassette of Jeff Healey Band 1992.
I also got 3 Motion Picture Soundtrack Cassette's i got from my friend he collected years ago. Smokey and the Bandit 1977 - Wayne's World 1991 (it does say 1975, 1992 years to) & Top Gun 1986. I own 28 Country tapes so far.
I own 54 Classic Rock & heavy metal, 28 Country, 3 motion Picture, plus 1 tape by my Uncle's friend Shaun M. Kopczynsky, He made a mix tape. He a local rocker in Duncun B.C. He done show's at Pubs the tape doesn't sound very good it a bit quite.
that's interesting that you have more albums of todays time period like Animalize , psycho circus, carnival of souls, asylum, Hot in the shade, Revenge Crazy nights , , Lick it up , creatures , more than the classic albums like Destroyer , Dressed to kill , Love Gun, Hotter than h e l l, Rock n Roll all over self titled? I see you have Double platinum and the Live albums but as far as studios you have more newer than classic older albums? I like your Ac/dc - For those about to Rock , Back in Black , High voltage , Powerage ,Dirty Deeds , nice Van Halen - 5150 , 1984 , Diver Down , Woman and Children first , , 2 and Van Halen 1 nice ZZ Top , nice Janet Jackson ,
