We need to be encouraging and sharing the truth behind smears and giving these young girls the reassurance they need to attend these vital appointments, they are scary to think about let alone attend but they can save your life!! I recently had my first smear and was then invited to have biopsies as well due to my results and other symptoms. When I went to have my biopsy my consultant said that he knows that I don’t have cervical cancer (before he had even done the biopsy) and the reason he knew was because no one who had the cervical cancer jab at school has had cervical cancer. So the chances of me being the first person were extremely unlikely. So when I heard destiny say she had the jab and has had cervical cancer it shook me to my core. He has blatantly lied to me. A NHS gynaecologist has flat out lied to my face about my risk of cervical cancer! I’m actually in shock right now!!!
