The sooner this man is brought in from the wilderness and allowed a platform in the main arena with the likes of Sam Harris, the better.

My government is hostage to an invasive culture intent on the destruction of mine. It will do anything to appease them including advancing their aims. Just because they are a minority does not make them virtuous. A sane government would have no reason to prevent you entering the country and any Muslims who riot as a result should be deported to the nearest Islamic country. If there are too many for the police to handle, the army should be used. This is a matter of national survival. If we cannot cope today, how will we cope when the Muslim population is higher? If our government cannot protect us from invasive cultures, it has no legitimacy. If it sides with invasive cultures against the native population then it is an enemy of its own people. This can only go on for so long before law and order completely break down. I do not want that to happen, but it is preferable to my nation being snuffed out by the most evil ideology in the world.

I too fell for the negative propaganda against him at first. Then heard Pat Condell mentioning him in a positive way. Went on to watch a couple lectures of him and discovered an outstanding, educated and very intelligent man who speaks the truth. It's incredible how powerful the smearcampain against him is, to shut him down. It was a powerful lesson for me, i will never forget this.

Robert Spencer is a legend, he and Ibn Warraq are the guys of counter jihad, he is unstoppable. Way to go.

Wait....we banned this guy from laying a wreath? Did I miss when we took the vote to ban him or is this another instance of the U.K. Governments inability to hold an open debate on these topics

I already know Spencer is one of the good guys. I lobbied my mp and signed the petition to allow him to come to the UK. To no avail of course, The UK does not understand the islamic threat and we will suffer accordingly.

Rob spencer is one of the few debaters I've never seen put on the defensive by a opponent. Any time you think he's about to be put on the spot BAM his opponent gets a bomb right back in the face. All done with calm cheerfulness. Legend

I have nothing but respect for both of these men. I've seen spencer had his name dragged through the mud. Same with Gad and I am astounded by how great of thinkers these men are.

I could listen to Robert Spencer and Gad Saad speak for hours. They are both extremely intelligent thinkers.

Great video. I have been following Robert Spencer's work for many years and I have never read or heard him say anything that can be regarded as "hate speech". On the other hand, he is very honest and knowledgeable about Islamic history and theology and some may find this hateful, even though it can be verified as fact.

So happy to see Robert here! He has been forced to do religious right shows that I feel only taint the image of the counterjihad movement. Thank Gad he was on this wonderful podcast!

GadFather -This was another great discussion with Robert Spencer. What a valuable service he does in exposing what Islam is really like to a popular audience. I am also so happy to have discovered your work through Sam Harris and enjoy listening to your RU-vid channel and reading your hysterical, biting posts. We desperately need more professors and lay people to take your lead and stand up against the tide of madness. I do have one point of disagreement from the discussion with Robert Spencer. Towards the end you say that we don’t target children with marketing ads because they don’t have a mechanism by which to discern for themselves what’s being offered to them (these aren’t your exact words but the gist of what I understood you to say). In the same way, you say, indoctrinating children with religious belief is objectionable, presumably for the same reason. It seems to me that the atheist doesn’t entirely escape the force of this objection. For one, Jordan Peterson mentioned in your conversation with him that our fundamental beliefs are religious in nature (e.g., that there is an external world; that some things really are wrong and others right; that there really is beauty, goodness, and evil in the world) ---- and this goes for the person who considers himself religious as well as the atheist. Moreover, we all teach our children systems of value, which follows from what we believe the world to actually be like. And they accept these not because they can rationally determine the truthfulness of these claims for themselves but because we’re their parents, and they trust us. And simply being raised as an atheist doesn’t render such a person immune from thoughtlessly accepting what he has been taught on into adulthood. My mother-in-law, for example, grew up in France and just imbibed atheist thought without ever critically examining it for herself. When I’ve engaged her on why she’s an atheist in recent years, she’s unable provide much of a justification for her stance, and she’s just fine with this. It seems it’s the part of the person who has been raised in an atheist home as well as the person who has been raised in a religious home to mature into adulthood and examine the truthfulness of what he has been taught for himself. And there are few who do this.

Gentlemen, thank you for a most informative discussion. I am a practicing Christian, not a perfect Christian because being perfect or even, just good at it, is humanly unachievable. My conclusions comes from this background the listening to your discussion and also having listened similar discussions by others, about Islam and the political impotence of the west. From this I have come to conclude that we are truly approaching the “end of times” scenario as described in Revelations in The Bible. The Western World has liberated itself into its own extinction. It is ripe and ready for the take-over by a dictatorship and none is better positioned to do so than Islam. I believe, there is no turning back and freeing itself from Islam, at least not quickly, if at all. I am so glad I am a Christian as I have no reason to fear death. If it comes to pass that I have to die for my faith I only hope I could do it with dignity.

I apologise for how pathetically authoritarian my country (UK) has become. Please do not allow this to happen to America. You are the last true bastion of liberty in this world.

Robert Spencer tells the truth in 99%. The 1% is his writings or sayings that Muhammed never lived, I doubt it could be adhered to any thruth in such claim. But that Muhammed was not a truthful prophet by any normal standards is quite clear.

Every now and then when I listen to discussions like these, I'll hear a decent clip worth transcribing. its amazing how much shit this guy Robert Spencer takes for espousing his views. This is a lesson for us all. historically people who said the unpopular truth were hated a lot more than the problems, the unpopular truths represented.

God bless you Robert Spencer .Me as Assyrian my grandfather was born in som high mountains in turkey and we have been moved now 5 times in 100 years and the last was from Syria by Issis and not to mention those lost in wars against unbeliever. Banning an honest and rational man like Robert Spencer from UK entry reflects how malignant and sick British culture or should I say politically this country has become. Banning such a man tells me Britain is rudderless in terms of doing what is right or democratic or in the interest of British people and the values that have made Britain what it came to be respected for. Sadly it seem the foundations of this once great state are undermined and the cracks are clearly visible and it's walls are just about to fall with a resounding sound.

He is absolutely right Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller.

Robert Spencer is a genius at being able to inform people of this message by simply being knowledgeable, comprehensive and most importantly calm. That's what people respond to and what prevents them from being able to dismiss him as easily by just charging him with a confrontational agenda. Other people get emotional when discussing these justifiably maddening problems, and that provides an opening for the activists who just want to shout them down as hateful or "anti" Muslim. But it's impossible to follow Spencer's nterviews and mistake his approach for any kind of effort to target or threaten Muslims, just to be honest about their actual system of belief.

First class interview, as always. Gad is the man, when it comes to bringing the best out of his guests.

To have an open and honest discussion across the board you will have to eradicate many negative traits first off that are clouding people's minds such as jealousy, envy, spite and vengeance which I fear is virtually impossible.

Thanks Gad and Robert I have been watching some of Robert's videos. As I watched the walk-out at Stanford University I was struck by the smug arrogance of those protesting. Of course, to be generous, this could be a cover for the shame they felt. And it occurred to me that this was the experience of the prophet Jeremiah. He pleaded with his people to turn back toYHWH but after years of turning away from God they were unable to hear the obvious truth of what he was saying. Robert's "Hello Fascists" speech that was obscured on the video was pointed but calm - even gentle. And so I thank God - YHWH - for your message Robert. Thank you also Gad for this channel which I found yesterday and intend to camp on for a while.

At 33 min. wow, they hit the nail bang about freedom.

Great talk again Gad! One area where I diverge from you both (perhaps only in tone) is the level of pessimism over reform in Islam. It is never going to jump from this point to a utopia that's a given. A common argument to make I know but it was 500 years since Martin Luther and yet the ramifications are still being felt. Sure Christianity is probably more open to reform than Islam (although that is a simplification as in area a and b Christianity could be more reformable and in point c maybe Islam is.) However the context is of course different today which means the factors influencing the pace and nature of reform are also different. The culture is also somewhat unique in each Muslim country and particularly compared to those of other faiths. I suggest that despite the somewhat disproportionately despicable doctrines in Islam the context today is one where reform probably needn't take so long to reach something a lot better. I do not have to give up hope and ban all Muslims just because we cannot get to the desired end result instantaneously. There are many points along the scale as you are both saying and many points that would be better than this one we live in now! That is reform of Islam to me. It doesn't necessarily help to say people are no longer Muslim because they are not totally adhering to all doctrines. It's a difficult one because that very distinction has to be made in another way to say Islam is the problem here. I agree it is ludicrous to say something is not Islam when a majority of Muslim scholars say it and therefore it is a justifiable to generalise about Islam based on these scholars and their followers who are probably a majority of Muslims. However the converse is also true. One otherwise does sound like the jihadists! Sunni, Shia and Sufi are all Muslim too no? The generalisations are justified but in many situations such as policy making down to personal interaction we must be more nuanced (as I have heard you both say and be of course). I think this is were people confuse critics wrongly with bigots. So i guess we must acknowledge the true scale of the problem but also acknowledge those who take a different stance to Qaradawi as representing Islam too (albeit less of Islamic texts and fewer Muslims!). Maajid and the like are so damn important it is unreal. I don't believe it is realistic to persuade all the Islamists but to isolate them and make them a minority is far more plausible but hell it will be bloody and difficult. We owe it to our fellow human beings not to give up on them. Every single Muslim who is persuaded to not hate Jews or beat his wife is a victory just as every Christian who was persuaded not to hate gays and so on.

What I like the most about Spencer is that he always quotes Islamic scripture properly, so anyone can check for themselves whether he's telling the truth or not. He's​ quite conscientious about it.
