My CHEAP E39 M5 was WAY worse than I thought! Can we fix it?

that's how the cheapest example of desirable german car usually are but if you can't afford a nice one and spread the repairs out over time it's a way in to owning one

7:07 a year doesn’t sound like a short time to me if they are worn a fair amount or get a lot of miles on them. I do a decent amount of walking, running, and working out and my running shoes seemed only last maybe six months.

Congratulations to Tyler on his new job. My god that engine oil was disgusting I have seen 4 year old 50,000 oil looking better than that. Brake fluid screwing the front brakes unreal, I had the same thing a broken bleed nipple corroded and the extractor snapped.

*Failing Shoes* ... Here in Europe we have a 24 month statutory warranty on nearly everything. If your shoes for example fell apart here, you'd get a repair, replacement, or your money back. Everybody knows about it and uses it.

It'l be an easy fix, but it was given a salvage title, otherwise is pretty clean. I can't wait to have it delivered and flip it for an easy profit.

Sketchers also makes black leather with the safety sole certified for restaurant use. The Sketchers are about $90CDN, the Reebok about $125CDN. Both are under $100 in American money. $2,000 for single piston calipers? Who's kidding whom? On my old Volvo 240 I had a shop do both front calipers (4 piston Gerling), both rear calipers (2 piston Gerling), all 4 discs, semiceramic pads all the way around, new parking brake shoes and hardware, and flush the brake lines (17 quarts of brake fluid). Parts, labour, and taxes in the total came to $1,700CDN. Im waiting on shoulder replacement surgery so doing work on a car is impossible for me.

Re: work shoes, get a set of Redbacks. Not cheap, not made in China, great if you are on your feet all day on hard surfaces.

When extracting a broken brake bleeder screw, drill the hole out as much as possible without getting into the threads and use the largest extractor bit you can, AFTER using a torch to heat the screw red hot.

Dude, my M62 in my 00 740 also sounds like a damn tractor. I think these engines are just noisy af. And yes I resealed the VANOS, check valves etc.

Jaguar Xj cars up to the X350 (~2003 i think...) used ball valve a/c ports. I found out when I attempted to charge the a/c and R134a shot out the high side service port! Fun!

Good to see that BMW were testing and perfecting crappy crumbly plastics on places like the underside of the car before introducing them in production to critical engine peripherals….. gotta love those Germans…..

that would be a great project car..only problem with OE parts, if not made in Germany or Europe, is that they will need to be replaced again in a short amount of time. Especially the electronic parts and suspension parts. I wish I could get it.
