Hey there! These Xs are dead notes. Mute the guitar strings with your left hand by lightly touching them, but don't press down. Then hit the strings to make a percussive thud without pitch.

I incorporate and mix all different guitar parts in my videos. That's why the first verse is different from the second verse. If you play verse 1 on one guitar and verse 2 on the other, you get both guitar parts played by Toro and Iero simultaneously. Same with the chorus.

Either switch to a clean channel or roll back the volume on your guitar to get less distortion.

The Xs are called 'dead notes'. Mute the guitar strings with your left hand by lightly touching them, but don't press down too hard. When Xs and numbers are played simultaneously just make sure that the X string is not ringing/is muted.
