i've waited 11 years to hear them play I Don't Love You live, and kept checking their setlists to see if they were playing it. That song got me through some of the darkest times in life. Only twice on the whole tour did they perform it, and I got to see it at the last show. I bawled my fucking eyes out. I'll never forget how those opening chords felt, it sent chills head to toe. Words can't describe it. A part of myself was healed during that performance. So beyond grateful
@@Cherrybulbasaur I think Robert Smith still sounds good, because of genetics and the fact that he has lived a healthy lifestyle without heavy drugs. Also he was one of the few tenors in the 80s in a genre dominated by baritones. I honestly think its easier for a girl to maintain her voice, because female voices in general are much more flexible and light than male voices other than the high tenors who can sing like a mezzo. Girls are much better at mixing their voices and not forcing notes through their throats. I think the girls that can't maintain their voices are ones who sing extremely light and delicate vocal runs like Elizabeth Fraser who might have a vocal run that goes into the 6th octave in head voice and after getting older hitting those obscenely high notes is far less fluid than in the younger days.
@@soysaucehairdye7869 a genre dominated by baritones? The 80s was tenor central by far the decade of Male high notes, total tenor time. No clue what you're on about there bud. lol
@@chewie9217 to make his voice sound like a robot and echo and sound weird as fuck lol. hes not using them most of the time tbf its not like hes autotuning himself hes just overlaying cool sounding shit
@@baceff6478 eh, agree to disagree! in terms of live performance hes finally taken lessons and has achieved a tone hes never had live. in the 2000s his voice was so fucking shredded that by the time the black parade tour was wrapping up it sounded like he swallowed a bunch of razors his voice was BLOWN
It's just so thrilling to see Gerard so comfortable. You can tell they were a little rusty and hesitant early on in the reunion, kinda stiff... but now they're jumping around stage, thrashing, having a blast. So so so happy for them
14:15 everyone singing the "everybody in this whole place, whole place" is so fcking amazing like that live performance all those years ago was THAT important, and also one of my favourite mama live performances ever, wow
am i crazy or does his voice have much better tone than it did a decade ago????? maybe its him getting older but there's more depth in his tone, i swear. he;s never sounded better live
They're literally the only band I will love unconditionally until the day I die, words can't describe how happy I was to finally be able to see them perform live. I get emotional just thinking about the show I went to because it feels like a once in a lifetime experience
Man, is Gerard actually a vampire? I swear he's aging backwards doing these shows, he looks almost like he did when he first did Helena! Hair to match too!
I am also 45! grew up with MCR he looks great and much younger he also lost a ton of weight but you are only as old as you feel! GreT to see him back in his element!
This concert was the first time I ever saw them live. I got there in the morning and waited all day so I could be right up in front of the stage. I've listened to them almost every day since I was 8 years old. I'm 24 now and never thought I would see them in person. I've never cried during a concert before, but as soon as I Don't Love You came on I couldn't hold the tears back. Best concert I've ever been to without a doubt.

I really appreciate all your MCR recordings! I actually think this is THE best Helena performance I've seen. Amazing that he can still bring that kind of passion even after performing it SO many times.
Did he find the fountain of youth in the past 2 years cause this is a wild transformation from what he was looking like a few years back. He looks just like 2005 again lol
I'm fucking sobbing right now. I waited most of my life to see them lives, finally got to go to their 10/7 concert in Vegas and they never played this song. It's my FAVORITE song... I'm devastated
I agree with everyone being happy for them being so comfortable and happier than ever, it really does make you appreciate them more and enjoy the show better, like, I'm not having a good time at their expense, they're too in a good state of mind
60 yr old MCR fan boy here. Saw them on this tour in Brooklyn. My buds at work the next day were "how was the show? Hard to say, I couldn't hear the band over the audience. 💜

One of my favourite songs of MCR. I wish I could have heard them playing this live in Paris! Amazing show tho, was the first time I had the chance to see them and I will never forget it
