I remember listening to “Fake Your Death” in 2013 and thinking to myself “I need to savor this moment because I’ll never hear a new MCR song for the first time ever again.” I’m so glad I was wrong. Welcome back.

This song feels like it’s got elements of all their previous albums. It’s got the progressive elements of The Black Parade, the dark lyrics and “emo” vocals of Three Cheers, the heavy riffs and screaming of I Brought You My Bullets, and the synthesizers/electronics of Danger Days.

listening to this song feels like hugging an old friend you haven’t seen in years. i’m so proud of all of us for sticking around long enough to be here.

The fact Gerard's voice sounds exactly the same as it did in 2002 is crazy. He doesn't really look any older, either. Really makes me think that if vampires were hiding amongst humans, he would definitely be one.

MCR was never just a band, they're a movement.

A year ago when this was released, I was going through heroin withdrawal, determined to get clean. I caved and used. And used for months more. Every time I did, “GET UP COWARD” would play in my head. I just lowered my methadone dose for the first time… on the anniversary of this song’s release. I couldn’t have achieved sobriety without it.

this is honestly a beautiful collage of the sound of bullets, the melancholy of three cheers, the power of black parade with a zesty danger days flair sprinkled in. it's like they never even left.

This is legitimately one of the most exciting moments in music history

I missed your era, I’m 60 70's and 80's was my music. 90's-2005, I was all over the world in the USAF. Found MCR in 2009 when my wife died. I was in hell. This music was all i had. Saw you in Raleigh August 2022, was up close on the floor. Best concert in all of my 60 years.

Coming back to this song after a while one thing I do want to mention is I love how "mature" this sounds sonically. Plus the group have NOT missed a beat.

I know MCR will never see this, but if there was one thing I could let them know, I’d want them to know: my best friend Erika took her life 4 years ago and she and I were some of the most obnoxious MCR fans on the planet. It broke our hearts when we heard that the band broke up. Before COVID, I got tickets to honor her and get that experience that she and I never got. She would be losing her mind over all of this right now. It’s so bittersweet, but I’m glad to see them back again.

Honestly, MCR keep secrets better than most governments. How do you keep something this grand and glorious hidden??? But now, it's out. And fabulous.

I sit here as a grown man, 33 years old, in my house, looking at baby toys all around my living room. I realize MCR gives me the same feelings as it did 17 year old me. 2 completely different people, loving the experience in different ways.

Holy shit. After years and years of waiting for MCR to put out a new song, the expectations were high and these guys knocked it far and above out of the park. The sound is new, and yet somehow stays so true to their roots. If all that happened with MCR -- the sudden break-up, the shocking reunion, the YEARS of delayed tour dates -- had to happen just so that we could get this song, all of it was worth it. This song is just... Ethereal, painful, authentic. Fucking beautiful. Well done, guys. Well fucking done.

My Chemical Romance isnt just another band i like, My Chemical Romance changed my life. It isnt just some songs i like, the lyrics, the melody, the singing, its way different than any other band, My Chemical Romance makes me think everything is possible and gives me hope to keep going and keep fighting, life may suck sometimes but My Chemical Romance gives me hope. This band helped me through so much trauma and mental abuse as a kid and came back right when I needed them most. I love you guys. Your music is like chicken soup for my soul like nothing else. I hope you see these comments and know how much you and your music means to so many people. I really hope I can go to a concert

I had NO IDEA new music was coming out. I became a fan just a couple years after they broke up, so I thought I would NEVER experience the release of new music. I thought this was going to be a concert teaser when I clicked on it. I NEARLY CRIED WHEN I REALIZED IT WASN'T.

If anything, I think these guys, somehow, improved, and they have evolved just enough to both sound relevant and modern while still keeping in tune with themselves as to be, well, the way only My Chemical Romance can be.

as someone who started listening to MCR after they had split up this is actually a dream come true. i always wished i could’ve heard a song from them close to when it came out and now here i am, listening to one an hour after it’s release. i love it and love them so much..

Got absolutely no where else to write this but I vividly remember how on October 31st 2019 they announced their comeback and how much I had to resist the urge to scream at the top of my lungs. I was a sophomore in high school and I'm now a sophomore in college. I love this band with my whole heart. Please release the album I think about this at least once a day 😭

i was wrongfully worried that this song might sound too digital, clean, mainstream and chart friendly… but this is MCR!! this is the same mcr we met 20 years ago. it’s so perfectly them. you can tell that it was important to the guys to make this a genuine MCR song, and wow! they succeeded. 9/11 references, catholicism, screaming, the awesome breakdowns and heavy instrumentals… i love it. thank you, MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE!!!

Never gonna stop loving mcr, I’ll never be more grateful to a group of people. They got me through the past 2 years of my life and continue to help day by day when it feels like I have nothing left. I’ll never forget crying and feeling like there was no way out and then putting on MCR or watching one of their old interviews and remembering how to smile, Gerard’s own struggle with suicide drugs and mental health is so similar to mine and seeing how far he’s come and how he can make this amazing musical comeback gives me hope too. I want to get all these beautiful lyrics tattooed on my soul. When I finally saw MCR after years of believing I wouldn’t, it was the happiest night of my life. Hearing this live filled a hole in my heart that I hadn’t even known existed. It was such a beautiful show and I felt so empty yet so whole when it was over. Remembering my show and how happy I felt gave me strength these past hard 6 months since I’ve seen them. I’ll never be able to fully express how grateful I am to MCR, how they’ve saved my life, and even though at the end of the day they are just 4 ordinary guys from New Jersey they don’t understand the impact they’ve had on so many lost kids who are just looking for something to call home, something to comfort them when life gets hard. Even though I’ve now outgrown mcr a bit they’ll always have such a special place in my life. It’s been almost a year since this life changing song was released but not a day goes by where I don’t think of it. today is 1st anniversary to a beloved song

So hard for me to keep a job because of my adhd, bipolar, reoccurring depression, and ptsd. I was diagnosed at 8 years old but no medications have helped me. So I couldn’t afford to see mcr. But I’ve loved them since I was 12. I’m now 28 years old. I hope someday I get to meet or see mcr. They saved my life.

I haven’t gotten to experience the feeling of listening to a My Chemical Romance song for the first time since I was a teenager. I’ve been a fan since 2005 and I’m 29 now…tears are in my eyes. I’m so glad I get to feel this again. What an awesome song from my favorite band. I can’t wait to be in the pit when they perform this. 100/10
