It's scary that I've listened to this version 10x more than the original. I wish the original vocals was mixed more like this. And doing the emo Anthony Fantano cosplay just makes it all the more epic. You deserve a lot more views. I'm kinda surprised why hasn't this blown up yet. I know this isn't your most perfect take, but I'd really love to see a perfected version with multiple takes mixed/layered together.

I partially feel like the muddy mix was intentional. As a fan I do somewhat wish his voice was clearer but as a songwriter, analyzing the themes of the lyrics makes the muddy sounding mix resonate a lot better with me

@@wildfluffyappeared It had to have been intentional, I'm just having trouble understanding why they took it quite as far as they did though. I'm partially deaf so that doesn't help matters much but it just bums me out a bit that I can't hear the vocals very much.

Dope as hell. I agree that the mixing of the original sounds like they were hoping to focus on the musicality rather than lyrics (and so the band rather than G). It reflects something that I’ve wondered about for ages: was the lead singer put on a pedestal too much, and did it cause issues? They’re pretty quiet about internal conflicts between members. I really appreciate the vocals here, you sound excellent. But the instrumentation does seem back-burnered as a loss. It’s tricky! Thanks for this wonderful cover.

Gerard was definitely put on a pedestal, but funnily enough I still feel he is underrated as a vocalist, compared to his popularity as a Frontman. I will be keen to see what the future content holds and whether they continue with the buried vocals or not
