Exactly!!! Couldn't agree more. It took everything in me to not completely lose it in that moment. I was happy enough with them holding hands and ALMOST kissing up until that point, considering I wasn't expecting any form of intimacy between them at all until part three, but this went above and beyond any expectations I ever had for their Gold Saucer date. It was perfect, and beautifully sets up the more romantic side of their relationship for the end of the trilogy!💛

Now they just need to fix the high wind seen and uncensor their relationship and Advent Children (IE they should be having their own kids and not sleeping in separate beds) Remains to be seen if those two things will happen though.
Ive gotten them all like pokemon.... spoilers ahead... I loved Tifas best one. I know the Aerith is canon but i really believe Tifa and Cloud were alwYs destined for each other, Cloud constantly feels like he cant live up to the expectations of Tifa and thats why he leaves in advant children. Tifa is the one who helps put cloud back together, and the biggest reveal of why cloud does what he does comes from the original wh3n Tifa is putting him together. "TENDER MEMORIES, Secrets no one can ever know." He is afraid of Tifa rejecting him... He thinks if he joins soldier and gets as strong as sephiroth Tifa would notice, but he never made soldier... in that memory cloud basically tells Tifa that he LIKES LIKES her. But people dont catch that because they think Cloud is in love with Aerith, but Cloud was in love with THE IDEA OF AERITH, he heard about her from Zack all the time, cloud projects himself to be like Zack so something triggered when he met Aerith the girls name is the same and she acts the same because she is the same. However Aerith was always Searching for the real cloud, she never got to meet him. Aerith ALWAYS loved Zack and Cloud and Aeriths date in doomed world mirrored the only date she has ever been on.... in crisis core zack takes her on a date, in doomed world date its basically the same thing. Aerith is trying to kill Jenova/Sephiroth but the last remnants of Jenova live within Cloud and Red13, Red i believe aould take the path of the Gi and lock himself from the lifestream, but Cloud has no choice but to return to the lifestream. Plot twist... i believe in the remakes Cloud is dying/ returning to the planet. I believe the edge of creation is clouds last chance to remove the Jenova cells from him. 7 seconds till the end, and The Hero Sephiroth asking Cloud to defy destiny together and... what? Kill Jenova together? Just my thought but I believe Cloud cares for everything... there is nothing he doesnt cherish... includind Sephiroth...i believe Jenova is gonna break Clouds spirit down and wear him into the lifestream and the final battle of part 3 will be EVERYONE fighting Cloud Jenova Creature trying to wake cloud up and when Jenova is defeated he crosses into the lifestream and peomised land where he has a true reunion with everyone.
There isn't a canon one in that sense, but the developers have said all the dates are accurate depictions of how Cloud feels about each person. Which in my mind essentially means they're all canon. No one of them is required to fit the overall story, but with the heavy Cloud and Tifa focus in Rebirth, I think the Tifa date fits the most naturally. Otherwise you have to wait until part 3 to get the payoff for all the buildup they have in Rebirth. It's really the one big departure from the OG game where they had very little build up until disc 2 where everything happens all at once practically. Seeing the setup they've done for it this time is nice. Tifa is the only girl Cloud has done anything romantic with ever. Now on top of that he has verbally confirmed his feelings for Tifa as well. His relationship with Aerith is left vague and people like to imagine stuff, but it's left vague because it just doesn't matter. She's dead. To be quite frank, they didn't even bother trying to grow Cloud and Aerith's relationship in Rebirth, its stuck in neutral up until she dies. Meanwhile Tifa is an almost constant focus, from their argument, to his apology, to Sephiroth trying to drive a wedge between them which culminates in Gongaga. Then Nebelheim where they take turns comforting each other.
