It's fun to watch somebody young discover how great CCR was. Nothing better than being young, turning on the highway with a full tank of gas, and turning up CCR.
maybe having Kate Beckinsale sitting next to me would make it a bit better, and it would be the coast road in Cornwall (Atlantic on the toe of England) in july,Up Around The Bend would come on just as we hit watergate bay as the sun is setting on the horizon. perfecto.
@@Emondotcalm You got that right. My grandmother used to joke that in her day the signs in front of gas stations said "10 Gals for $1." Now that's a deal.
When the Beatles were on the edge of breaking up in the late 60's, these guys came along and pumped some fire into the music world. The genius behind CCR is John Fogerty. Check out their other stuff.
Thanks to my Dad for introducing me to CCR. To me they are one of the greatest rock bands ever. Any song you react to by them would put a smile on my face...there's no wrong choice they're all great!
@Beth Mohr Well the way John got out the band was the last album he said everyone writes and sings. It flopped so he is CCR. There was only 2 good songs on the album both by John Sweet Hitchhiker and Someday Never Comes.
@@mohammadaminab9002 coincidentally tomorrow is his birthday and every year on his birthday I play have you seen the rain by Creedence because the day of his funeral it was sunny and it rained
It just dawned on me why I like your reactions so much. You root for the talent. You want them to be the best they can. You're all positive about it. Thank you for that.
Theres a live version of this on youtube that is essentially the same as the studio one...almost note for note...but more raw vocally and musically. It's an incredible performance. Fogerty is ridiculously talented.
Ok Preston im impressed. I never thought you would make it to CCR but you did. 70s swamp rock and they are the kings. Yes yes yes you need to listen to more lol keep rocking man, you're an inspiration
Everett Domalewski wasn’t sure you were aware of that. I have loved them my whole life and I am a born and raised swamp rat from Louisiana. I just learned where they were from last year and it has made me feel like they are fake. Like a Georgia boy moving to England and singing with a British accent. I still love the music but it has changed my opinion of them. 😞
After all of these years.....I still get goosebumps when I hear this song!! Great choice Preston!! Now you gotta dive deeper down the CCR rabbit hole! Love this reaction!🖤🤘🏻
This is your first time with Creedence Clearwater Revival! Aww you've just started scratching the surface man. They have a laundry list of hit singles a mile long and you can't really go wrong with anyone of them
Welcome to my childhood I’m 68 years old and I was a senior in high school when that song came out and thank God for young kids like you who are bringing it back, excellent young man! God Bless
So many good songs. There was definitely some magic to the original CCR. They have started releasing CCR videos on youtube via vivo now. Definitely worth a watch
CCR is absolutely amazing. Truly iconic rock and roll. What's funny about the lead singer for CCR, John Fogerty, is that in 1993 he was sued for sounding like himself, RFLMAO. In 1993, former Creedence Clearwater Revival singer John Fogerty found himself at the center of a case being argued before the United States Supreme Court. The country’s highest court wasn’t debating whether Bayou Country or Green River was the superior CCR album. Instead, Fogerty was in the middle of an important, somewhat obscure corner of copyright law. The seeds for Fogerty’s day in court traced back 23 years to 1970. That April, CCR released the Fogerty-penned “Run Through the Jungle” as a single that would eventually be certified gold by the RIAA. “Run Through the Jungle” is a solid tune, but it didn’t really grab headlines until 1985 when Fogerty released a solo track called “The Old Man Down the Road
Wait, wait.... You're telling me that he was being sued, for a song he did in the 70's that no one really heard. But only recently heard when he released hus latest one. Because they thought he sounded like someone else and copying their style, when it was really him? Dafuq
@@Firan25 The problem was that Fogarty/CCR did not own the publishing rights to the CCR songs, their label did. When he recorded as a solo for another label the original one sued because they felt that he took the music from a CCR song they had rights to and gave it different words. This was not the case that went to SCOTUS. That one was about him not receiving payment for his attorney's fees after winning his copyright infringement case in circuit court.
We’re playing have you ever seen the rain tomorrow along with other 60s/70s classics, it’s my dad’s buddy’s 60th birthday . Dad’s on bass and i’m on lead guitar . We’ve been practicing for months , our first gig . Love fro Beirut .
Omg! I was a young teen in the 70's and everyone loved Creedence, but me. But, I NEVER heard this song by them.I LOVE IT! Because of you, I'm going to go listen to them again and I agree, they did this better than anyone I've heard.
If you haven’t heard Born on the Bayou, it’s got such an amazing groove to it. You can’t not close your eyes, bounce your head and smile as you sing along.
CCR is one of the great American bands. They recorded five albums in under two years and split up. They got many great songs. Pagan Baby is one of my favorites
In the 1970s you could not go into a club or bar without hearing CCR. Deeply loved! Such talent.... In music documentaries musicians always bring up CCR.
You are such a genuine, happy person & it's so contagious & uplifting to watch your videos. Music is great therapy. Check out CCR's Born on the Bayou. Keep up the great work it is much appreciated!
I'm so influenced by this cat that I think I am going to start a new channel where I make videos offering music review of the latest, new, fresh dope beats and rappers. My twist'll be using big, fancy words to describe the wonderful sounds. I hope the man backs me too on this one. :) We alls needs sum backin', yo. (Pssst......How'd I do?)
You should listen to more of them Preston. They are a great band!!! My mom use to listen to them as I was growing up so I’ve developed a love for them too.
Ah! I grew up with my parents listening to this music, it's so authentic and raw and cool as f! I love watching your face as the different sections hit you, it's like hearing it for the first time again, and there is a genuine joy in moments shared between people who love music 💖💖 And you have a beautiful and genuine smile too!
John Fogerty is one of the best guitarists of all time....could I request 'joy of my life' by fogerty?? There are so many other great tunes by these guys but 'joy of my life' pulls on my heart strings...he wrote it years ago for his wife whom hes been with for like 30 or more years
At that time, he said that "Proud Mary" was his first good song, and "Joy of my life" is last good song. Fortunately, he has written good songs after! :o)
This is such a macho version of this song. I get the same kick out of it King KTF gets for probably the same reason. The song is a love song I would guess. The kind of hardcore all consuming love that can make a man crazy.
@@hillarysloveletterstolorne1496 Yes, yes. It's a 'variations on a theme' type solo. You have the basic sound then take off and experiment with it. This song should be a half hour long. Did you see King get hypnotized for a minute?
@@nelsonx5326 Hell yeah I've heard the song for decades and still get chills every time I hear it:) the King was sure to have the same reaction:) Another thing I love about this song is the fantastic sound of Tom Fogarty's rhythm guitar. You have to listen for it, underneath John's lead guitar and the drums. but it's there, and it's fantastic. relentless, driving rock 'n' roll----- absolutely relentless strumming by Tom.
@@hillarysloveletterstolorne1496 I didn't notice Tom. Sometimes a bass and rhythm are at their best when you don't notice them, they are like the picture frame. But without them you really notice how important they are. This song is a perfect package. I found a song that is another guitar variations on a theme. Alvin Lee doing 'Help me'. Minimal lyrics, the rest of the band a picture frame for the guitar solo. The solo changes about 6 times, getting more intricate and exploring the fret-board all over the place. I'm leaving the link, but if you've been listening to Credence for decades like I have ( fan since about '70 ) then you probably know the song. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lswhcutrRlA.html
Holy cow where do you start with CCR... looking through the comments and there is a whole bunch of great music suggested pick any of them you won't be disappointed. Love the reaction and the new Intro....♡
I went to see John Forgerty a few years ago in Nashville and he is still rockin! He is touring this year and a MUST SEE!! He brought out maybe 16 guitars and he wasn't leaving till he played them all!!!!!(and did)!
John Fogerty on vocals and lead guitar. The man can play his ass off. They do an 11 minute version of the Motown classic "I Heard It Through the Grapevine." Solos for days.
It's pretty cool watching the younger generation enjoy the music I have been listening too for over 50 years..I never had the same reaction when my folks or grandfolks put on the music they listened too....Nice Job King....
It’s a joy to enjoy this music with you. Because If it’s good music, it’s just good. No other way around it! You listen to the lyrics and the instrumental into account.
This, Zepllin, pink Floyd, original Fleetwood Mac was my late teens early 20s musical experience. Just fantastic, all these groups "put a spell on me" that continues today 50 yrs later.
I grew up listening to so many of the songs you & others are reacting to Glorious years for music & i still listen to many of those songs yhat still move me passionately ! This one brings me back to a bar with a juke box & pool tables where i use to go on a particular summer in the easten town ships Nice memories Thank's for your passionate reactions
BTW Preston, if you dig that big voice hitting those notes that make your hair stand up, try Audioslave the song is Cochise. The late , great Chris Cornell , RIP, fronting what was Rage Against the Machine. You would not think it would be a good mix but trust me its a mix straight from God himself. TRUST ME AS YOU WOULD SAY " THE ROCK GODS ARE PLEASED WITH THIS ONE" THANKS AGAIN . KEEP MAKING EVERY ONE SMILE!!!
I remember my friends and me hearing the rumors back in the day that Chris was the new singer for RATM and we all looked at each other like how the hell will that work?None of us thought at the time it would be more like Soundgarden than RATM.Two phenomenal albums!RIP Chris!
I did not realize when I was growing up (mid 60s to mid 80s, maybe some 90s) that I was listening to some of the greatest music ever done, iconic song after song from some of the greatest bands ever put together. And I took it for granted, but I darn sure appreciate it now.
You MUST listen note! Must, must, MUST! One of my ALL time favorite bands. My mom was OBSESSED with them, so I grew up listening and LOVING their music!
I think aqualung would be good intro, and dire straights try sultans of swing or industrial desease they would be good intros, maybe some janus joplin too. So much music so little time, still want to hear a favorite or 2 of your own, expand our minds preeeeeston!
It was hard for CCR to be categorized because their music touched so many areas. Back in the 60's and 70's every record store would play one of the latest released albums. Creedence Clearwater Revival was played a lot along with SRV (Stevie Ray Von, greatest guitar player ever).
My dad had a CCR tape of their greatest hits, when I was little. I called it, “the hippie tarp” because of their hair. You can’t go wrong with these guys.
Grand Funk Railroad - T.N.U.C. live with the drum solo. You said you love drum solos. You gonna love this! This band was from Flint, Michigan. Monster band at one time. Funky rockers.
