Children talk about their cities - Atlanta, New York, Pittsburgh. From the Prelinger Collection at archive.org
-----
Great little film following a little girl in Atlanta, a boy in Pittsburgh and another boy in New York as they explain why they love their city so much. The two boys seem to be in a lower income bracket than the girl obviously. While she's gushing about going to the airport landing strip, the boys are taking the city bus or going to the fish market. All 3 seem very happy with their lives though, thank you very much. Nice film. Highly reccomended! - Reviewer Spuzz

I almost lost it when i saw the boys put their foot in to be chosen by eenney meeney miniie mo. My 55 year old mind blocked that part of my childhood from my memory for some reason. Wow!

It's really good to see how things were in comparison to how they have changed. I was born in the early 60's so this is all relatable to me, being from GA. It really makes me smile. You're truly remarkable with what you do! ✊🏾👦🏾👍🏾

I wish I was taped when I growing up in the 70's and early 80's! This was great, very nostalgic! The younger generations of today need to see this!

Is it just me or does it seem like people from back then had different accents like...time accents. No one talks with that sort of timbre anymore; like it sounds like very rhythmic.

I’m not American but this is a very good film as this was before oil crisis and the decline of American manufacture sectors I knew Pittsburgh and NYC were big cities but didn’t know Atlanta was so advanced and prosper even back then! I only knew Coca-cola and Delta from Atlanta I hope the boy from NYC made it in the music industry

2021 & if u go to Pittsburgh you would be stepping back into 1968. Nothing has changed since this was filmed- same gray, overcast drab looking old houses & buildings. Depressing

What happened to the movie The Startup starring Diggy Simmons. I think it was a movie on BET. Why is BET not allowing us to watch it?

Just the concept of 10-12 y/o kids walking around by themselves in a big city (whether it’s to get to school or visiting their favorite spots) would never happen today. The kid is probably 12 at the most walking around 9th Avenue by himself. That’s just how it was back then. But I also thought his statement about how “people say New York is dying, but how come so many people keep coming here?” People are still saying the exact same thing in 2023. So maybe the more things change, the more they stay the same.

I loved this. What a fantastic documentary. Born in ‘63 in DC area so this felt like a film about older childhood friends and family to me. Biggest sad take away for me was the loss of so much gainful manufacturing & construction work that was so admired by kids, and of course unionized, since this film was made.

Not validating the question as it seems facetious but the visuals for 1968 Atlanta had me concluding this was shot before April 4th and more likely in 1967.
