lol, I'm in the same boat. I bought the original Elementum in Micarta dark green and thought I'd much rather the g10 so I bought the g10 version as well and found myself going back to the the micarta. The knives grow on you.
This past Christmas I got my first Swiss army in a long time(huntsman). Then this summer I really wanted a folder and shopped around and started becoming fascinated with all the different knives. I finally chose the Civivi conspirator. It is an amazing knife. And now in early November I have the huntsman, the conspirator, the kansept mainstreet, a Nagao Higonokami no.6 and a Civivi Imperial.

I ended up selling the micarta version because like you said ; it does wear in and for photo and video G10 just looks better . If I wasn’t doing RU-vid and my Instagram page i think I would have kept the micarta . It’s a tough call because it’s an amazing knife either way . Thank you for stopping by mate . 🙏🏼

I picked up the shredded carbon fiber with copper flakes with the Damascus blade and also the jade s35vn. I'm curious though how you made your lanyard. Or did you buy it somewhere? I love it and I want one.
Hey bud . I bought it on eBay off a seller called STARVIN9.. he makes his own beads and lanyards . He’s a true master . Just type knife lanyard into eBay or google and something will come up . Also Facebook groups they sell them and make them there . The 2 knifes you’re talking about are both amazing . I see myself picking up both of em somewhere down the line . Such an amazing model . Great story, I purchased the CIVIVI ELEMENTUM in the BLACK G10 version from Amazon here in the United States back on March 10th 2022 and I love it. I paid exactly $50.15 for it and it is worth every penny in my humble opinion. I have a lot of knives and this is my regular EDC knife for now. Thanks for telling your story because I thought I was the only one who has a hard time deciding on which knife to carry and collect.

I bought myself the orange handle and black blade one last week and I’m giving another one away tonight . The baby banter is another one that I hold in high regard . Very relatable. I started today looking into the mini bugout and now I'm on to the elementum. I've never had micarta so this was an entertaining and interesting video. Especally since the elementum is 1/3 the price of the benchmade bugout. Cheers
Thanks for the kind words mate . 2 very different knives but both really awesome in their own ways . The bugout just hides away in the pocket , you barely notice it and the axis lock is my favourite closing mechanism . The elementum has a sharp snap when you open it that never gets old and is a very capable and sold knife for harder cutting tasks . I carry both of em a lot . Lately I’ve just had the Civivi baby banter in my pocket . The ceramic bearing makes it feel like an auto . Also a great budget option . Hope that helps. 💪🏼
Dude Benchmade is so overpriced. Great but nowadays Civivi makes just as good of quality for like 1/3rd the price. Try a Civivi Praxis for frost blade and you’ll fall in love.
I’m a massive Civivi fan but there’s something extremely special about Benchmade . You just gotta hold ‘em and play with em to realise that Civivi doesn’t even come close on some models. I just got my first knife in micarta, the Elementum in brown. It may become my favorite knife in just a couple of days. My Osborne 940 has already been EDC C.A.P. pouch and out of the pocket.
The Osbourne a beautiful knife . I hope I get the full size one in my collection one day . You can’t mess with that axis lock but there’s something about the elementum that’s special . They really nailed it . It looks good , the ergos are great , good for lefty / righty’s , great snap etc . List is too long 😂 brilliant knife !
LOL welcome to the club dude! Many of us have been dealing with the knife addiction for years! 20+ years, 100+ knives (fixed blades and folders) later, and it hasn't gotten much better. I own duplicates and triplicates of many models. Could be worse; you could be spending all your money on crack!
I've got a couple of Civivi knives. Some in G10, some Micarta, but none in wood. So I bought the Ebony wood Elementum. It makes for a nice gentleman's carry version.

Hehe the journey is real for sure. I own the Elementum in OD green but I also gifted a purple one to my brother for his birthday this year. Had to be the purple since that was the only one in stock if I didnt want yet another green or black one. Oh both was in the G10 version aswell.
These knives make great gifts . I gifted a mate a black blade , orange g10 one yesterday . He wanted to get something for $100 . So I gave him the elementum . He was wrapped. I’ve converted another one . 😂

Hey mate . The knife I’ve been using the crap out of is the Civivi baby banter . I actually don’t care about it (I do have a safe queen one in purple thou 😂) but my black one is getting thrashed . I live using this one knife . In Oz . I use elite gear , Nebo knives , joker knives , eBay and Facebook where a lot of people are selling their used knives for good prices . Hope that helps . QSP makes some sweet models too ..
I got the micarta elementum with a stone washed blade, it's fantastic, albeit a little small on the handle. The frame lock is a little hard on the thumbnail so if they come out with a flipper+button lock get that.. If you want a larger handle/knife look at the conspirator

I tend to prefer larger/heavier knives, but I did something similar with yojimbo 2 by Spyderco. Basically every time I get rid of one, I end up buying another. Over the years the yo2 has gone up in price. Just picked up a yo2 for $170 US dollars. I would never spend $240 on a mini-bugout. We can get regular Bugouts for $145 in the US. There are bigger/better knives (and even swords) within the $240 price point, in the states anyway, I would rather have.

@@OGtalks True on both counts! lol. I actually wished it was a little larger, so I don’t mind. 3.5 blade/4.5 handle is my ideal size. Though I do wish it was enlarged proportionately. It seems they just enlongated it by the looks of it.

I know how you feel. I have Elementums with micarta, g10, wood, in D2, S35VN with the flipper and in button locks and with the Tanto blade as well. The good thing is they make great Christmas presents for guys and gals.

😂😂 indeed I do ! I’m really loving everything Civivi is doing right now . The ki-v plus has quickly become my favourite . Even the baby banter is amazing . I don’t really like big knives , even though I do have big hands . My favourite knife is the Benchmade mini Griptilian .
The Civivi elementum as a first knife is huge . Is one of the greatest pocket knives ever made . The price is on point too and they got it in a lot of different colours . They’ll love it ! 💪🏼

My first knife was a 9400 auto Osborne! It’s so nice looking that I rather not ruin it so it’s just sitting collecting dust . But Hopefully someone takes it off me Bc I could find another useful way to spend 300$😂
Benchmade knives are probably great for their warranty and support in the US, but for those of us not in the US. It probably makes more sense to buy something reasonable we don't need to baby.
yeah i've been there, haha i never really liked folders for some reason but then i moved interstate to WA which is hotter and started wearing lighter clothing and bam multitool was just to heavy and big not i'm about 10 knives deep, and i'm talking like carbon fibre s90v benchmades and 535 - 3 bugouts i've got a real issue, i to got a damascus elementum recently awesome knives ( the fake carbon fire handles actually suck though )

I have both G10 and micarta knives it totally depends on how well they are made the viper key in micarta is sublime but the G10 is so slippery I have no faith in it to do my personal tasks.

Just lanyards you can buy on eBay or if you do a search on google , some good options should come up , depending on where you are . Most people like me , who don’t like clips on their knives , throw on lanyards . Hope that helps . Thanks for stopping by . 🙏🏼

The problem is ; it doesn’t feel good when you’re using the knife (speaking personally ) . Sone companies do a good job and you can’t feel the clip when you’re holding the knife too . I take the clips off when they don’t feel good while I’m using the knife and they I just throw a lanyard on . The lanyard just makes the knife more grab-able when it’s down the bottom of your pocket . It’s decoration at some level too . Like you’re personalising you knife so it don’t look like your mates . Lol I got the same problem. It’s a shit show for sure. Micarta over g10 all day for me. I hate losing knives I’m still not over my lost ZT 566 blackwash in Elmax. I replaced it with a ZT 357 since the 566 is out of discontinued I love the 357 but it’s not the same? Great video! Made me laugh.

@@OGtalks I’m very picky about my knives because I don’t like to have more than I’ll use. But I have a list: benchmade saddle mountain skinner, civivi fixed elementum and trc apocalypse. I did just pre order the fixed adamas in cru wear for heavy use because I recently compromised my current adamas.

@@OGtalks I might have been batoning it since I received it in last year in october. The stop pin cracked but because two screws go through it, its still holding up for normal use. And that is why getting the fixed adamas.
Probably the best looking budget blade around and has a hollow grind and precision machining.. but D2. D2 is fucking awful for EDC.. you mess with it in your pocket? Yeah it’s gonna rust. You use the blade on anything other then a bone dry box? Yeah it’s gonna rust. You wanna bring it to a birthday to open gifts for an hour? Yeah it’s gonna rust. D2 is awful for anything outside a custom fabrication machine that’s dry and indoors. It was a good idea to try it on knives but.. now we all know it blows.
Crazy . I had no idea it was hat sensitive ? I don’t really get mine wet and only really use it for packages etc . With the amount of knives I own , it’s only in the rotation for a day or 2 before it goes back into a pouch . Still , gotta love this design .
@@OGtalks they are the best designed $50 blade ever. Can’t wait til the S35VN version is back in stock, cause I won’t buy anything D2. If you ever had to cut open something wet, it’s gonna rust and corrode even if you wipe it off. Civivis D2 does have a great heat treat though and is better then the Efangrow and PF Chinese D2 bodes out there.
