if I am going to pay 25 bucks for a shirt I want it new and not from a thrift store. Tha'ts what makes me so mad.. these stores get the stuff for free and they want to charge an arm and a leg for it. What happened to making this stuff afordable.
Looking at what is REALLY happening at Goodwill and Salvation Army is horrific. Go to St Jude's or ANNNY other small charity shop! Try not to support the trash that those larger profit organizations are perpetrating! If you're going to reuse and pay that price, put your money where it can REALLY help!
They have overhead. Inflation impacts them, too. They now have the issue of waste management and what to with over-donations, trash, and stuff that doesn't sell. Our clothing waste is ending up on coasts in other countries.
My store doesn’t do color tags anymore. You have to join the club for 25.00 and normal prices there are way too high. 7.99 for used tanks is crazy to me when I can get brand new at Walmart for 3.00. Unless it’s an amazing brand I don’t buy any clothes at Goodwill anymore. I used to love to thrift. I’m in Florida and not even a big city so too expensive. 😒
PLEASE don't cut those jeans up. They would look SO CUTE with a pair of those black boots that look like low rise Doc's. Pair those 2 items together with that grey sweater and you'd have a cute outfit for the winter season. I love bootcut jeans but I have the hardest time finding them because I'm so short. Those were perfect on the length Cassie. I'm fully expecting you to take my advice and I'm fully expecting to see you either post a picture of yourself in that outfit on your community tab or show us in a future clothing video. Please don't let me down, lol! Lol but I'm serious... 😉
Have fun! I was telling my husband I need to declutter my closet. That would mean I would need to replace a few pieces, but my wallet would cry. Thank you for this post! I will donate my items I will no longer be wearing. There's a thrift shop in my hometown that lets people in need shop twice a month for free. Meanwhile, I'll be headed to the Goodwill in the next town over for me and my shopping! Yayyyy!
I refuse to shop now at thift stores. Got bed bugs which infested my apartment! Spent over 3k to finally rid them. Imagine the wardrobe i could have purchased with that money?? Not worth it. Be careful....launder with hot water, put in garbage bags before laundering. Better yet....Dont shop there!
I've never tried thrift shopping (that's not really common in my country, we go to regular stores in malls) but I find the idea so unhygienic. I don't care how much I would wash it I feel like I would still have the feeling that someone else wore and sweated on that clothe item. And I've heard horror stories about nasty things found at these stores.
Omgee, that's horrible. I never gave that a thought the few times I went thrifting. I've only purchased a few clothing items and the rest has been bake ware. I got an amazing deal on a cake carrier that was practically brand new. Thanks to my sister's discount I saved a bit more. Now that I've read your comment I don't plan on buying anything with fabric. So sorry that happened to you. I would have been very upset. So much money and time trying to get rid of them just to save some money on clothing. Crazy. The fact that you could have bought yourself a great deal of brand new clothing was basically a slap in the face. Again, I'm sorry you experienced that... 💜
Do you go beyond the xl/1x section into the XXL/2x section? Some brands are notorious for running small so I always go up one size as well and look to see what I can find. I mean I just might miss out on something good that fits great bc it's in the size section above me! I can't let that happen! 😂 I mean if it's too big, it's too big and you don't buy it! It's totally worth looking!
Cassie!!! I'm not sure where in Minnesota you live but you HAVE TO check out the Goodwill in Maple Grove. It's SOOOOO GOOD. I can not stress enough how good it is. THEN afterwards go to Style Encore! Second hand consignment store but I always go home with so much when I stop in. So many goodies!!
Get that blue shirt tailored. Not the button and hook cheap, get an invisible strong button for the gapping and you won’t need to look down and check the shirt again
Croft & Barrow is a Kohl's brand. Very cute color! When shirts are a bit too short I buy a tank a few sizes too big so it hangs out at the bottom. Coldwater Creek makes quality clothing. Love them!
I love periwinkle! Looked great on you! I colored my hair periwinkle a couple months ago and I get way more compliments about it than any other color I’ve had.
I will absolutely love if you would do the Plus size pinterest style inspired with thrifted stuff. It will be nice how you can find new styles with the new size. Seeing you being comfortable in your own skin trying new styles in a budget.
I love thrifting too! However this small studio apartment has very limited space. So I feel bad just storing stuff in boxes that I want to wear and feels a little wasteful....I digress. Thanks for your video I love seeing what you try on! :)
Yes the entire family are millionaires. They have changed their entire concept of donations and started pulling higher end stuff from stores to sell at their online store. Read all about them. Total greed!

The jeans look great, you should keep them as is! The Cold Water Creek pullover is lovely. It's been a minute since I've gone to Goodwill or anything like that, but then it's also been a minute since I've shopped in person for almost anything... including shoes and clothing. I buy everything online. But... I do have alerts set up for certain items on eBay, things like J Crew hats from 22 years ago, and I periodically check Poshmark for some brands and hats. In recent years I've bought pants on eBay and when they come, they smell like something, like perfume or something, and I know I should wash or dry clean them, but I never do. I just put them on. I guess I'm not much of a germaphobe.

The prices of your goodwill are giving me horrible anxiety!! LOL. I live in a small town with a massive goodwill and it’s a goldmine. Both for old stuff, antiques and vintage as well as new. All the jeans are like $6.99-$9.99 and shirts are $2.99-$4.99 lol. Womens blouses are $4-$10
I love that you talk yourself OUT of buying things if they’re not perfect. I feel like far too often we talk ourselves into buying stuff we don’t really love then we have a closet full of stuff but nothing to wear!
they all look fab on you cassie, it might not be for every one but i saw on Pinterest a girl had that problem with her top and put the 1st top button in the 2nd hole and the 2nd button in the top hole if that makes sence it worked on her but dont know if thats worth a try cause different abric may not work but worth a go and if not you havent lost anything or ruined top
I learned it a couple years ago and it works pretty well. You wrap the waistband around your neck, and if it wraps the whole way around, the pants should fit your waist.
It works better if you put the jeans from one shoulder to the other instead of the neck trick though. I did the neck thing with a pair of shorts I knew didn’t fit and according to the neck trick they should’ve fit. Put them to your shoulders across your back instead.
I love going thrifting with you Cassie! I too, love a longer shirts. I have a longer torso and I like to wear a men's small and tuck it into my jeans. So comfy! :-D
I love the periwinkle blue shirt. It's so pretty and the colour is lovely. My button up shirts gape as well. There must be some type of invisible snap button you can buy and sew on?

I’m addicted to thrifting in the Twin Cities metro area. So much so that I’m 95% sure I know exactly which Goodwill you’re at even though you barely showed the outside. 😅 I won’t reveal the location but I will say it’s on a frontage road by a lot of car lots. I definitely enjoy this thrifting content!
