My mom got a cockatiel, Nicko, when she was in her 20s. All my siblings, including me, grew up with him but he sadly passed away a few years ago just before his 29th birthday. I remember him whistle ''Hi Nickooo'' everytime we got home and sing all the time.
@@chrono-glitchwaterlily8776 Yes, in the wild they live up to about 10-15 years but as a pet they can live to around 25 years. The funny thing is that we also thought their lifespan was around 15 years, so we always joked about how immortal he was because the years went on and suddenly he turned 25 and then 28!! hahah. It's crazy to think that my mom grew up with him thoughout her adulthood and then her kids grew up with him till' we became almost adults.
I’m waiting for my bird’s clipped wings to grow back (they were clipped when I got him) so I could start flight training! But it’s taking much longer than I thought it would...😅😂
Once my family and I took our dog to a dry salt lake, but wen we came back to the car we saw this guy walk out of his car and he had a huge blue and gold macaw on his shoulder, it was pretty cool lol.
Yeah, chain pet stores suck. One got he ones I trusted years ago got larger and took in more birds, I went to look at them today and the budgies were in a really small cage and were on a seed diet. They also had three sun conures on the same perch, it was really sad.
i have a lovely (bratty) little green cheek conure named toby who was 6 weeks old when i got them. gender is unsure but they think that theyre female. they warmed up to me right away and is very adventurous. a handful, but i love them :D i already had two other birds when i got them, shadow the cockatiel and snowflake the budgie. the two we got a while ago when i was a lot younger, hence the names lmao. i love watching your videos and you can always see and hear how happy your birdies are, and what amazing tanks and enclosures your other critters have! edit: toby had their wings clipped when we got them, but they are almost grown out again!
My cockteil baby bird named Loki she flew away yesterday on 2 June 2021 When I was in online class..😔 And then I found out my other bird was a boy not a girl and then I realized . Loki that was a girl could have breeded with my other bird but they didn’t since we didn’t have a nest box💔 And your bird looks exactly like Loki reminds me so much hopefully Loki will come back..❤️😞🤞🏻
I was kinda nervous when I started watching this, thinking, "will I be able to establish this kind of bond with my 'tiel when I get them?" But then I realized that I can settle into it with them. I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing, despite my research, and they'll be in a new environment. We'll both be nervous, but we can get used to it together.
I was so scared when I clicked this video. Then she explained he had a harness on and my mind was blown. This I the cutest thing Ive ever seen!!!! I want a bird so bad!!!! But I know my cat better than that 🤣
I used to have a bird I took every where but my dog ate him 😢😭 If I had my bird now I'd have him sit on my shoulder while I ride my horse, his wings weren't clipped so he'd be safe if something happened but he's dead sadly, he was my favorite bird I've ever had because he's chirp until you let him out and then he'd nibble your ears, fly around the house, sit on your shoulder, and want constant attention Since I have no bird my cat gets to take a ride ever so often
I wish I can take my birds to all these fun places, but the stupid people at petco clipped his wings so short, it took him 2 months to learn how to fly properly
Hey i dont think you will see this but if you do i have been thinking about getting a cockatiel and im getting it next month, i have everything planned and i already have its cage set up but i have one problem, the last pet i owned was rats and i had three because i know they are very social animals and its hard for them to live alone but i was just wondering if its the same for cockatiels? Because i would hate for my cockatiel to be depressed and i just wanted to know your opinion on if i should get one or two? Also if anyone else sees this that has a answer to my problem please reply i just really dont want my cockatiel to be sad❤️ thank you!
I'm pretty sure it depends on how much time you spend with the cockatiel, if you're often busy then you should get two. some cockatiels also dont like human interaction that much depending on where they came from, so they might only get the proper socialization from another cockatiel. I'd personally get two just to make sure the birds not lonely
I think that it really differs from bird to bird! if you're spending enough good quality time with your cockatiel with positive interactions, and its relatively happy, I don't think there is a need to get another cockatiel! if you have a lot of spare time with and you're able to spend that time with your tiel, it should be fine on its own, but if you ever notice it feeling depressed, perhaps think about getting another tiel :D All the best on your journey with your feathered friend!
If you want to give me a heart attack or kill me put my brid outside idk im so afraid of my brids flying away from me i could neverbut they have a nice window perch to get freash air and look outside :)
When I’m older I’m gonna get a birb, right now I have a cat that likes to kill birds - don’t worry, I’ll do all the proper research and wait until I’m responsible enough. I would want to give them the happiest life possible.
When I first got my bird they had an injury in there head and were kinda wobbly because of it and we hadn’t clipped her wings so when she would fly she would struggle a bit so we had to clip her wings but she is now recovered and is growing her wings and starting to fly straight and fly a lot more than before. She seems very happy and is always outside with my other bird. They are very good friends. My other birds wings aren’t clipped and seem very happy
8:40 to 8:55 It looks like your'e about to release him and never see him again there. :( I'm happy that's not the case... and I hope it will never happen.
I use to have a green cheak conure we were really close soooo I let him climb trees and fly around the field, whenever he saw a eagle he flew straight back to me, don't judge I was 7 but we were really close.
um soda pets i have wondered what happened to your first bird on here when you were yum soda because i have not seen him or her since 2015 and i'm wondering what happened to the little budgie
If I took my bird to the beach it would probably be eaten by a seagull. Where I live we have thousands of western seagulls which is one of the largest seagull species in the world and is easily fast and powerful enough to kill a cocktail.
my cockatiel was let out by one of my friends and i didn’t realize he was out and i went to leave my house but he went to follow me but he sadly flew away :)
I rescued a baby bird we did as much as we could but it died , we were going to put him back in wild when he was enough strong , but he didn’t make it 😔
