Their purple reverse retro is hands down, one of the best jerseys in all of professional sports history - absolutely perfect; in theme, concept, and presentation.
I was extremely fortunate to buy two brand new sealed LAK89 retro reverse jerseys this year in a stock clearance, for £35 each. At that price, I got an L and XL. I only regret not buying more. The L is worn now and the XL is stored away for the next few decades, so I can wear it when I'm old and fat.
As a Kings jersey collector, love your collection. At this point, I've completed the collection of all home and away sweaters and have been collecting practice and fashion jerseys. I'm up over 60 total in my collection now. And like you, most of the older jerseys were from ebay or other second hand places.

I'm biased but growing up in LA as a huge Raiders fan my favorite hands down are the classic Gretzky era silver and black with the Chevy logo. Love both the crown logo designs from the OG forum blue and gold to the early 2000s alternate purple and black ones that became the primary for a few years. I'm glad the Kings finally started embracing the older looks with the reverse retros because I've been of the opinion for a while now that our current jerseys are some of the worst in the league sadly. The home plate look is terrible and while I'll always have fond memories of them being the ones we finally won cups in I think it's well past time to make a permanent change back to the Chevy logo or I've been begging for someone to make a silver and black jersey with the OG crown on it. I think some version of that would look amazing.
The Kings Forum blue and gold are Not Lakers colors! The Lakers were wearing Blue and white at the Sports arena and when the Forum was built they switched to the royal colors of Purple and gold and the Kings started with purple and gold so if anything the Lakers copied the Kings and yes you are on an island liking those ugly black and purple Staples Center era uniforms 🤮 🤮.
They should make the purple the home and the white the road. Our fanbase has been asking for the return to purple (forum blue) and gold for a while now.
I'm old. And I'm a classics, throwback guy. But for the Kings, the best jersey is now and always has been the black and silver Gretzky threads. I usually hate when teams add or change to black. That one worked big time. It stirs up images of Gretzky at the forum, the Raiders, toughness, West Coast rap in the 90s. And for a hockey team that's all good.
I think the reason those black Kings uniforms worked back then was because they were the first NHL team going with a mostly black look. The Bruins had black jerseys and pants, but their yellow socks offset the look. Plus it was cool that the Kings went from LA Lakers colors to LA Raiders colors, which were more associated with bada$$ery.
Those coat of arms jerseys are my absolute favorite jerseys of Kings jerseys especially the purple version absolutely gorgeous if that's an island your not alone I'm with you there

Gretzky made the Raiders colours cool and leading to me getting one back in the day. Couldn’t let go being a Gretzky fan, even though I hated him for a brief period after the 89 playoff series with the Oilers.
I don’t think the Kings have ever had a bad jersey. They all work well for various reasons from the Laker Kings to the Gretzky black and grey to the coat of arms.
Even though I am a Sharks fan my favorite non Sharks team and jersey is definitely the Kings, more specifically those Wayne Gretzky era jerseys are pretty sweet.
As a longtime Kings fans, the coat of arms jerseys are also my favorite. When I started watching hockey back in 1998, the Kings were wearing those uni's.

And now I’m super happy I bought it, since the store has sadly closed that I bought it from.

LA has a lot of great looks. My personal favorite is reverse retro 2.0. 1.0 was nothing short of S tier, but I’m not the biggest fan of the chevron logo, and the Gretzky era.
I really resented LA going for the Oakland Raider look. The LA King jersey was never my favourite but I liked how unique the purple and gold was. I hate the yellow jersey. My first Table Hockey game I had all twelve NHL teams. Still kicking myself that over time they were lost. The King jersey was great. Everyone likes Black and Silver. Hate the black and silver.
I like the purple but not the yellow. If they did something with their current look but incorporated purple highlights that would be a nice medium, though if people are adamant about the black and white I get that too
Their best looking jersey they had was the chevy logo that gretz wore. The crest is cool, and purple is my favourite colour, but it's too busy for a pro hockey jersey
The early 2000’s jerseys are nearly perfect, if it wasn’t for that unnecessary wordmark. But everything else (colours, striping, main crest, secondary logos, number and font) is still a unique look that I would love the Kings to go back to!

4:25 those are also my favorite Kings jerseys, though they went thru a period of switching up the logo with the same design. I *think* that originally the home/away had the shield logo and the 3rd had a crown , and that flipped eventually. I love the shield on the black (I have a Robitaille jersey in that configuration. They had switched the jersey by the time they retired his number and I was there for that game.)
I really think they should do black-yellow-purple color scheme. Loved this series. I'm pretty sad we're almost at the end. You made me a jersey head a few years ago.
These two 1:39, and these two 5:26, 11:04(white ones) are the best out off all the jerseys in their franchise history. Absolute perfection. The retro purple ones would look great except they put that ugly chevy logo on it. Worst logo in all of sports. Lol. Only thing worse is their homeplate crest that they have now. 🤮
