My family disowned me for leaving the organization. Then, they said me being dead would be easier to deal with than me being in a homosexual relationship. I understand your background. Love your family so much. Life is terrible without them.

I'm a Jehovah's Witness too , born & raised .. Haven't gotten baptized yet but I'm an unbaptized publisher ... I have gay feelings too & everybody keeps telling me that I'm not .. I don't know , it's very confusing & depressing . I go to a therapist & take pills to cope with everyday life ... I don't know what to do... I can't leave bc I will have literally NO ONE ... I'm scared & I know I should pray but I don't feel worthy ... It's just really hard ... My personal belief is that someone can be born homosexual . Just like a child can be born with Down syndrome ... Idk how to explain but like we are all imperfect so we have certain desires ... Being gay isn't a sin ... The sin is when you act on it ... The lifestyle ... But anyway .. I just wish I could just die then I wouldn't have to go through all of this
Kirsten you are a beautiful perfect human being, because Our Heavenly Father doesn't make garbage or mistakes. Your feelings and desires are perfectly fine(natural) and acceptable, because The Good Lord wouldn't give you those emotions if they were wrong/bad. I am drowning emotional. Im gay and I cannot take it no more. God didn’t create homosexuality. We are a product of an imperfect system. Its like having Down syndrome.
I know this is late but human sexuality is complex. There are over 20 genes that control it. The XX and XY stuff you learn in high school is extremely over simplified to the point that it’s actually incorrect for some people. As an example, XY people are usually physically male but not always. It’s not actually like Down syndrome because being non binary is basically harmless and Down syndrome causes health and mental disorders.

I understand completely where you were and it’s difficult for sure. I was heavily involved in the JW organization also and it’s not easy to leave but it’s for the best. Live your best life .
im a jeovahs witness too and im terrified of coming out because i will lose everything, but its so hard to hide your emotions from everyone, i tried to become something that im not but it has been awful. My family always making coments about how gay people choose to be like that and how it is a lifestyle...thanks for the video it makes us feel less alone

Hi mystical 3900! Thanks for sharing. I was not aware how rigid The community of Jehovas witnesses is and how minimal their reception of the real world is. Yet I find you a reflecting and feeling person that opened himself to his own personality and to the world. That’s true wealth. Fearing to lose everybody is pure torture and you endured that. You are strong. I actually lived a closeted life a long time, not exactly because of being gay or for religious reasons. I did that out of a perception of alienation and coldness within my own family where I did not feel home and not sheltered. So I perceived the world around me as bad and I did not let anybody come near my soul. That served as an insurance against disappointment and pain. Believe me, I regret that a lot and now share your feelings for the richness of the world. Yet I still find it difficult to share my true self. Regards Martin

Thanks so much for this, Micheal. I've been waiting for the full blast of courage so I can breath now. I prepared a rope in my room and an improvised gun hidden in my room. I only have two options... To take my life and just leave a letter to my family esp. To my mom and to entire so called earthly organisation or secondly just to come out and stay very far away to a place where there is respect, acceptance and equality.

I’m not JW, I’m a Christian. But I’m gay. My parents are very homophobic but I decided I don’t want to live in hiding forever. So I’m coming out soon. I’m terrified but also excited

You were so very fortunate to have parents that loved you unconditionally...the way all parents should love their kids. Unfortunately for the majority of young ones like you in that cult, their parents are brainwashed and turn their backs on their kids in a time when that kid most desperately needs their parents’ love, understanding and compassion. So sad. So glad things worked out for you and also that your parents didn’t have to put themselves through the needless pain and agony of losing a child just because a religion tells them to do so.

Hey boys: I know how terrible it is to being raised as a JW and then find out that you may be gay. But act calmly. FIRST: do not come out to your parents, not yet. Although for many people it is a matter of "pride", it may get you into a lot of unnecessary trouble. Back off gradually from the organization's responsibilities and try that your family supports you while you complete a good formal education (technical or University preferably). Many families (JW or not) are so fanatic that they not only shun their kids, but throw them out of home. SECOND: meanwhile, look for help to understand your personal sexual psychological orientation, and to understand how religions and cultures manipulate or brainwash your mind to make yourself feel guilty and stop you from educating yourself. Religion is something very complex (just look around) and you may well put that issue away while you build your understanding of yourself. THIRD: if you find yourself mature enough to engage in love and sex, please PLAY SAFE. Fatal diseases can harm irremediably your life experiment. The Internet has plenty of exJWS support groups that can help you to hold a clearer understanding of this complex world. Search using an alias or false name, lest your family and old religious acquaintances find out and hurt you. More later.
Instead of thinking you "lost" everyone think of it as that you "got rid of everyone" everyone that wouldn't accept you for being who you are ! They also convince people that the world is a horrible place and you can't survive in the world without being a JW. it's part of the brain washing. My Mother is a Cult member of the Jehovah Witness. I am not and have never been. She tells me she makes an exception for me because I'm her son. I do believe that if she were to find out that I'm her gay son that would put an end to our relationship.

um, I which they wouldn't delete all those um's . They are all a part of your wonderfully flowing speech. You need to get in sync again in future efforts. You don't want to tease them too much. They will see your beautiful mouth move just after the speech, and that's confusing. I lost a lot when I was young because I had a learning disability. Coming out as an older man is quite challenging. Hope you all the best !
I was born and raised as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, it has taken me many long years to come to terms indeed I'm transgender (transsexual), I still love many people in the ORG, however I'm viewed in a bad way by the Governing Body. Hope you find support, it's hard life living outside the so called norms.

Very good job, Michael, but think about this: Every human is born an atheist, we have no intrinsic beliefs in religion (or indeed anything else) at birth, so there are no such things as being born JW, or Catholic or Muslim or any other sort of religion...that comes ONLY from parental coercion, or from teachers or other authority figures...even peers.
I think it’s more accurate to say that everyone is born agnostic. We all wonder where all of this came from at some point, and to this day no one knows for sure. The very nature of existence itself doesn’t make sense to us, but it’s the reason we’re even around to think about it at all.
I guess im not the only one. Im gay and still a jw. Im not giving up without a fight. I love the organization, and i can identify with your comments. I want to see my mother in the new system, and i know someday i will never be gay again

I was trying to find a way to contact you more privately, but computers and I do not get along too well. I do not intend an offensive approach. More like an effort to understand. What was it that you found on the internet which left you thoroughly convinced you no longer wanted to be a part of the organization? I myself have searched and searched, but have yet found something that would draw the line for my departure. Then again, perhaps I have not considered all possibilities.

Poor you Michael. You as a born and raised Jehovah Witness and also a homosexual. That's not a good mix. You would be better to find a another religion. They said the world was going to end in 1975 and that Jesus returned to the world invisibly in 1914 and that the "generation" of 1914 would see Armageddon. In our church we call JW's Ammagedon Incorporated. Historically Religion and Christianity in particular has been the great oppressor of homosexuals down through the centuries. Thank God for secularism. Only in a secular world is there the possibility of safety and dignity for the homosexual . I live in NZ where same sex marriage is legal and that is because New Zealand is very secular. Though we do open Parliament 5 days a week with an Anglican prayer.
