Great draft! I learned a lot! My takeaways: - Mono-blue with splash can be a thing. - Low cost cards and card draw let you keep activating double-spells forever. (Although it could be partly because this deck had multiple creatures that could repeatedly get extra cards) - Bounce cards are great in this. - You don't need a lot of high-end spells thanks to the card draw + scalable threats: Scalable multispell rewards (Geralf and Stitcher) & X spells (Gather the Posse)
Hey Nicolai! In this video, during the draft you said “this guy” “this thing” “this card” or just “this” etc a lot! Please say the name of the card as you consider it! For us newbs hearing the names of the cards helps us recognize them and remember them for our drafts. I know they’re on screen but sometimes you pull your mouse off so fast we can’t see the enlarged card and/or we are looking away for a moment! It would be an awesome adjustment! Thanks for the videos!
Craziest thing about this is you passed archive trap for a land and already had pickpocket and visage bandit. Trap pickpocket is an auto win if you draw it. Trap is an auto win if your game goes late. And you ended up getting a last pick mill guy to guarantee the plan. Not saying your deck was bad but I think that was a mispick overall.
After listening to some other folks talk about their experience with Archive Trap since I did this draft, I am coming around on it being an actively good card. I still haven’t played with or against it, but I think you make a good point and I’ll see if I can go for that strategy next time I see it.
@@NicolaiBolas You yourself even pointed out, the format is very much on the slow side and there are a ton of grindy card advantage decks which are exactly the decks that die on the spot to Trap. I've lost many games to trap where I was guaranteed the win until they trapped me the turn before I won.
