My Craft Room ( the real struggle)and whats going on? 

Don’t worry about what other people think. Rise above their pettiness. Also, if you don’t want to get rid of stuff, but want less stuff in your craft room, you can always buy some big Rubbermaid containers and pack some stuff you aren’t using up in the attic or garage, and then trade it out from time to time with your other craft stuff.

I'm busy cleaning out my areas too! Don't let negative people get you down or take your joy! They aren't worth it. Glad you're back!

What an inspiring room you have!! Take everything 1 day at a time and give yourself grace! You are an amazing crafter and try not to let ugly people with their comments get you down! I have been paper crafting for over 20 years and completely understand and feel your frustrations. Something that has helped me is setting a timer (15 minutes, 30 minutes whatever you feel you have to give that day) and I pick 1 zone in my craft room and work on it. If I feel like I have more energy to give then I work a little longer on it. Does this take me a long time to get through things-yes, but do I feel better after I have completed the task I set for myself to do-YES,YES,YES. Keep doing what brings you joy! I love a real craft room tour. Not everyone has a perfect room. It’s full but it’s organized. I’m glad you’re back. You can count on those of us that support each other and work on trying to ignore those that wish to bring you down.

Don't feel bad. I also have too much and a smaller room and am starting to feel a bit overwhelmed. I've decided to tackle one small area at a time. Yesterday, I did the top rack of my planner cart and my crafty tools cart. I still have to do the bottom 2 racks of both, but that small progress made me feel pretty good, because at least I accomplished SOMETHING that was bothering me. I also went through some scraps and actually scrapped a few and organized the rest. Small progress is still progress. That said, like you, I have a Lot yet to do. A friend told me do an hour each day and set a timer. For me though, I need to do about 4 hours each week but all at one time. Anyway, DO WHAT WORKS FOR YOU, but give yourself credit when you make progress! Love your room - it's so colorful and full of wonderful crafty goodies. Thank you for sharing and glad you have gotten help that you need and that you are feeling better.

Girl, don’t be so hard on yourself! We don’t judge you…we just want you to be happy! I honestly love your craft room! It’s adorable and I bet everyone who has a hobby ends up with a little mess, mine gets crazy messy every time I’m in there. When I get overwhelmed, I just look at a small area and tell myself to just work on this little space and once I’m done, I leave the room and come back the next day and when I open the door and see the little spot where it’s tidy, it makes me far less overwhelmed Because you see the progress. One thing at a time, darlin! I get most overwhelmed when I try and tackle the whole room at one time and it takes eons to see that progress is being made, so just try and do a little section, walk out and then close the door and when you come back later, you’ll see the progress! Just a little mind trick I play on myself! lol (I hope this makes sense) xo

Just take it day by day. I am overwhelmed by my room too and makes me not even want to craft cause it’s like I have too much. I’m sorry you have dealt with some negative people and stuff. It’s very sad. Glad you are back at it and it’s a great 1st step. You got this girl 💕

Oh I love all your beautiful crafty goodness going on in your craft room!❤️❤️❤️ I have predominantly pink and teal and mint colors going on in my craft room so loving your craft room…lol…and I totally get how it’s hard letting go of things you love or the struggles to organize the best way to give you the space you need to craft. I’m actually a crafter who is a visual creator in the sense that I like to see color and pretty visuals around me that inspire. Anyway I’m so sorry that unkind people in the crafting community had hurt you with their unkind words. Please don’t give them power over you with their unkind words. I pray they are remorseful now and think before they start judging others and be a more positive kind human. Now that being said a tip that may be helpful for you that helped me is that I cleared out my whole craft room and then reset it up by putting all my necessary craft supplies and papers etc. and organizing that all as I go. Then I started to redecorate my craft room. Items that I didn’t want to let go like certain collections or decor I stored in big storage bins and I put in my closet or our storage room off our garage. I also allowed myself two shelves to display items that crafty friends gifted me or in swaps I was in. It was so hard to do….to purge but also just deciding what I was wanting to leave out and what I wanted to store away because I loved everything that I had….lol….but knowing that I still had those items and I could always switch them out and bring out to enjoy again whenever I wanted to. But you know surprisingly after I finished my craft room I was very happy with it and haven’t missed the things I stored or purged. Now another tip I did was that I was so indecisive about some items if I would purge them or keep them or the items I wanted to keep but store away….i made 3 piles or I should say boxes of each said items…the ones I was thinking to give away or sale, the items that I planned on storing away, decor or collections that I was undecided about putting back in craft room….then I came back to those boxes in a couple of weeks to see how I was feeling about those items and I felt better on what I wanted to do. Also don’t ever get rid of something you truly love because you feel like that’s what you have to do. There is no time table for you to be under when you redo your craft space. Take your time and well maybe just do small sections at a time so you don’t become overwhelmed or stressed. Just concentrate on that small section and then another section and over time you will have it the way you want it. Most of the items went to my churches art ministry but I also destashed a lot as well!! I did it on social media and offer up, also Facebook marketplace and at least I got some money too reprise my room that I now can use with joy ❤ I pray that the God of all comfort is helping you in your healing process!!! Good luck Maria. I have a much smaller mess, but I totally understand about it being hard to get rid of things. I always think bout how it can be used in the future and then it’s hard to get rid of an item. Stay strong! It’s going to be a long process, as I’ve come to find. I think it helps to get rid of small things first and then it will help you feel better about getting rid of bigger things. 💖🌸

Oh Miss Maria, Im sorry you felt sad. Don't let the haters get you down, they are just sad, lonely or miserable and they think that being that way to someone else makes them feel better. Just ignore them. You're a lovely person and you make beautiful projects! Now...as far as the cleaning & purging..I just did this last year and am doing it again now. I try to pick up an item and think of the last time I used it & it I still do those kind of projects, often for me the answer is NO. So i immediately put in aside in a give or sell box (out of sight, so I don't pull anything back out of it) I do try to list the items right away, so it can get gone. I"m a "beautiful/cute" shopper like you, if its fits that category, I want it. I struggle to walk away from those items in the store, but I find I feel happier without the item and it makes me feel even better when I get home to pull out stuff I do have and make something. Yay, a woman after my own heart!!! I have several crafting areas, a room my husband added onto our home, a shed that we just built and an area inside the house. We built and sold birdhouse for 20 years, I love painting and woodworking, Silhouette and card making. I kind of lost focus the last couple of years, I need inspiration and I think you’re it. Good luck with your room, I’ll be watching.

I used the doubles technique to start purging. But in our cases sometimes it more like triples and quadruples of things 😂😂
