I am 30 years old and I have been straightening my hair daily since I discovered it was an option (I was like 13 laying on the floor on a towel while my sister used an iron to straighten my hair😂). Im getting me a bonnet! I hate washing my hair, and only do once a week at most. Yeah those 'slinky' bands are amazing...I used to go through hair bands like you wouldnt believe, they'd get hair wrapped around them, they'd break my hair. The slinky band is one of those inventions that you think...''why didnt i think of that?'' so simple, yet so efficient!

Mell can I just say u wish you had been on RU-vid 4 years ago when I was watching other curly youtubers who were famous at the time. They were touting and recommending things and products that were not only out of reach for me but didn’t work for my hair (for ex: finger detangling, rinsing with cold water, using coconut oil [unfortunately my hair is way too fine for that tho I have lots of it, this and some other oils will weigh it down] and avoiding sulfates and silicones at all costs). I did kno about the bonnet and silk pillowcase but to be honest never implemented before bc I figured if I can’t do the entire thing right I will not invest or try at all. Thanks to you and your sister (my curls are more similar to hers) I am ordering those things and also the denman brush off amazon. Thank you for showing me there’s more than one right way. Now I wish you were closer so I can cut my hair with you (but if you’re ever in NYC I will pay for you to cut my hair here! Lol)

Hi Mell you literally brighten up my day your both so sweet and make me smile, I only found you about a week ago and I’m so glad I did, I have stopped straightening my hair and trying to let my natural curls look nice that’s how I came across you, I am failing massively so far but now I watched your must haves from amazon so I’m gonna try them but I’m from the UK so I wondered if you could link them for the UK amazon if that’s ok don’t worry if not I will find them in the end. I just wanted your advice my hair is like straight on the roots and curly from about my top of my ears but I’m struggling massively with not brushing my hair except in shower because it is sooooooo thick and it’s really hard work and hard to style even putting it in a pineapple it gets super knotty in the first day and frizzy on the roots and I keep reaching for my brush which obviously ruins my curls but if I don’t it’s like a knotty birds nest, do you have any advice? My hair is really long too and I just don’t know what I’m doing at all, I am going to go look on amazon now to see if I can find the things you suggest but what is the best product that I can actually put at the root etc to stop it getting so matted and frizzy, sorry this was super long 😅 I’d love your advice, I’ve only been trying to find a curly routine for like the last week or so so I’m early in my transition, I look forward to seeing your other videos take care to both of you ✨xxx

My hair has a lot of damage right now so I decided to stop the chemicals and go for the curls. My root is maybe 1.5” now and I don’t know how to style my hair because of the 2 different textures I have. I would appreciate if you can give me an advice 🙏 thanks

I have curls, however i don’t think mine are as tight as yours are. I purchased bounce curls that someone else recommended. I then ordered the curl smith, and i’m hoping that will work better. The idea of a sleep cap never occurred to me. Btw-in which city are you a stylist. Because although i really like my stylist, I don’t think she knows a lot about managing curly hair.
