Yeah protective styling is definitely it. I found an amazing braider and I've had my hair in knotless braids for a year and half now but I make sure to keep my hair moisturized and my length is unreal. I literally had Isi's experience. First few years natural my hair grew to shoulder length then just stayed there. Tried out protective styling and now my hair is also mid back. My braider and I have been in this together lmao and she's even blown away by my length now.
The versatility of our hair is admirable, like your hair length, your straight hair is lovely, but nothing beats the beauty of healthy 4c natural curls, I go absolutely nuts about it❤️🥰😍

I've never tried to flat iron with a soft brush. I'm going to try it on my daughter the next time I need to trim her ends. Your hair really has grown a ton! It's always so healthy, but that length was impressive!

You gotta get the Dyson Supersonic Blow Dryer with the Afro Comb attachment. When I say quick and no heat damage I mean it. My hair is about 2-3 inches shorter and just as thick and I can blow dry my entire head in 15 mins.

Omg has please keep doing the straightening tutorials the way that you did, I know everybody is different but I think it's really good that we keep putting out the message that like you need to take your time and be careful with the way that you're treating your hair. I really love the journey that you're on I feel like I mirror a lot of what's going on with you and I want to bring that into my professional practice through my own experience and clearly also by yours it has gone very well.
