Just found you through Shelly’s community post! Unfortunately I have not gone on well with many of the books on your TBR, with the exception of Empire of Pain which is very very good! Welcome to BookTube matey!
Hi! I’m here on Shellyish recommendation! You’ve got such a calm and focused vibe, love it. I haven’t read Elena Ferrante yet, but have both of the books you mentioned. I feel the same about My brilliant friend, and I think it’s the lack of conflict for me. I’m sure there is some, but a book about a friendship … ok like that just doesn’t intrigue me the same way a lot of other books do. Give me the drama! I might start with Days of abandonment to try and increase my interest, because I do want to read it… Heard great things about Middlemarch too, but anything over 350 pp and I’m a little apprehensive 😅 Such a commitment! Have you seen the show about the Sackler family? Can’t think what’s it’s called but I thought it was really good. Helpful… Painkiller maybe. Anyways. Just wanted to say hi, I look forward to watching more of your videos!
@@ellenmadebookclub thank you for watching!! I loved the days of abandonment. I feel like since so many people love my brilliant friend, I secretly want to hate it haha. I can be a little contrarian sometimes. But I’ll probably do a full review of it one of these days!
@@joelharris4399 so true! It takes me a long time to get through them though. I see so many people talking about the brothers karamazov on tik tok. Is everyone really reading that??
