I have to admit it brings a tear to the eye, but also a wonderful feeling of warmth that he lives on through his fabulous family. Please know how much joy he brought to all of us through his music and thanks so much for sharing this tribute.

This is a wonderful tribute, I was a fan in New Zealand and Bobby came to Dunedin in the South Island. I was a year younger than Bobby and could not afford to buy a ticket so my Dad bought a ticket for me for 10 shillings. I had his records and practically wore them out on a record player that again had been bought for me by my Dad. He bought me that for passing an exam which I subsequently failed! So my Dad helped me to get to know your Dad. My brother and I published a book about our Dad after he passed away which I hope he would be proud of. I am sure if your Dad could see what you have done in his memory, I bet you he would be proud of you too. Much Love and Aroha!

I had the chance to meet Bobby Vee and his two sons, when they performed at the Vicksburg performing arts center, in Vicksburg Michigan, in 1995. I still have the autographed pictures of him and his two sons. I also still have the advertisement flyers from the show. My friend Bob Wallace, who trained me on one of our local radio stations, was the MC for the show. Great times.

I remember when Bob bought a house for his parents in north Moorhead, MN. He would occasionally stop in at my grandmother's grocery store on the north side to visit. I did a sketch of Bob at one time. He signed it and it sat on display in the window at Bernie's Record Shop in Fargo for some time. Somewhere around the house I have an old autograph book signed by Bob, his brother Bill, Dick Dunkirk and Bob Korum, the Shadows. Fond memories.

What a heart-felt tribute to a great guy and artist. I was always a fan from the very beginning in 1959-60. I had the good fortune of meeting Bobby in June of 1975 of all places in Bismarck ND. I was there only a short time for a visit, went to a dinner club one evening with my brother-in-law and Bobby was performing. We sat at a table near the stage and during the break between sets, Bobby jumped off the little stage, asked to sit with us (there were two empty chairs at the table), of course, I said yes, and we had dinner together. We sat there over dinner chatting like we were old friends. We talked a little about the plane crash that night in '59, but mostly we just chatted, asked some personal questions of each other, laughed, and enjoyed each other's company. It was an evening I'll never forget.

What a great movie could be made about Bobby Vee! An opening scene of an older Bobby sitting alone in a cafe listening to a jukebox play 'Yesterday And You (Armen's Theme)' would launch a wonderful movie full of memories for everyone, especially us baby boomers plus re-energize his record sales. So many important events happened during his life, especially the 1960s! I hope he and Bobby Vinton were friendly as it was humorous how schoolkids of the day got them mixed up when requesting air play and buying singles. Quick - 'Charms', 'Blue On Blue', which Bobby V!

Was just recapturing my days listening to Bobby, Buddy there when I seen this. Bobby's vocal & songs had a huge impact on me as a Vocalist and Songwriter, when I first started on my music journey from the mid 80s. Seen Bobby with The Crickets in 88 in Glasgow, Scotland. Still have the programme brochure for it. Buddy's/Bobby's music Im indebted to, as it helped me form my own. I was supposed to tour with Jerry Naylor back in 2011 and 2013 for his Rockabilly Legends project, but it fell through. I designed the front cover of the only book about The Crickets too, so all that music is ingrained in me, to which I'm thankful for and the memories of finding the music in record stores here when I was younger is something I will cherish to the end of my days. RIP Bobby/Buddy x

This is a wonderfully touching tribute to Bobby, which I only just discovered. I'm 74 now and I'm british; I grew up listening and loving all of Bobbys record releases of the earlier 60's; He was immensely popular in the UK, He never made a bad record. I've lived in the US a long time now, and I got to chatting with him for ages after a nostalgia concert he did in Phoenix AZ with Brian Hyland, Johnny Tillotson, and Chris Montez, about 12 years ago? (I'm not sure, time flies!). We got on the topic of Del Shannon, and Bobby said to me these very words: "Not a day passes when I don't think of that guy". I'm sure that was true; they were very close friends. I replied: if only Del had called........ Anyway: 'My Dad', a lovely fitting tribute to a lovely man. Pete.
