Doesn’t Dad know that jumping in the boat is Mike’s move. Mike is an everyman’s fisherman. No big fancy boat with all the newest gear. The struggle is real and relatable.

The first thing I noticed about this reel is its weight ru-vid.comUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . I wouldn't say it was uncomfortable but it was a little heavier than other similarly sized reels. However, that didn't deter my enjoyment of how smooth this reel is. I spooled it with 20lb. Tuf-Line XP and it's perfect for what I use it for. I have it paired with an 8'6" Medium/Fast Okuma SST Salmon/Steelhead rod. The combination is perfect for casting and even drifting. I used the reel all day and didn't experience any arm or hand fatigue except when fighting a few fish! The bail is solid and feels strong when engaging by reeling and manually closing the bail by hand. The large rubber handle grip is very comfortable. It's got a powerful drag, silky smooth reeling, and feels very comfortable in the hands. I recommend it!

1rod you are blessed beyond measure to be able to fish with your dad, not many ppl have that oppuntunity, I highly recommend when he retires you fish with him as much as possible because when he is gone he is gone. You and your dad should buy together a good bass boat with a jet engine outboard for swallow water and fish the susquehanna river.

1Rod1ReelFishing just do me a favor and NEVER sign with Favorite, I purchased two rods, gave them a chance twice and they are honestly terrible. The Defender 7’3 MH Fast tip had a medium backbone and moderate action , and lacks sensitivity I have IM6 Lews blanks with more sensitivity , Dobyns Fury is cheaper and more sensitive, I returned both I don’t trust anything the Googans say now. I will say the Emperor Rod isn’t terrible my buddy has it. But they don’t compare to even a 79 dollar Lews or shimano rod

Hey 1 rod, quick question, any reason you don't fish the lure all the way to the boat? It seems like once you get far from the bank and semi close to the boat you reel as fast as you can to get the next cast. 4:00 From my experience i have seen bass come off the structure and chase the lure a little bite and than strike. Just a thing i have been noticing you do, no hate, love the videos and keep up the good work!

Cool to see whenever you get your old man out there. I finally convinced my dad that the poluted muddy river that runs through my city is actually a smallmouth hot spot. Got him out a few times and on the 2nd outing he caught a 20 inch smallie, which he admitted was the biggest he's ever caught. So glad I convinced the old curmudgeon to try out our river. He grew up fishing in minnesota and always turned his nose up at it. Good times.
