My Day Aboard USS Princeton (CG-59) Guided Missile Cruiser 

Outsquisite video! As a Plank Owner of a Spruance Class Destroyer, I'm proud to say I'm well pleased with what evolved from our class ship. Some have likened the Spruance Class as the Dad of the Ticonderoga Class Guided Missile Cruiser, & Grand Dad of the Arleigh Burke Class Guided Missile Destroyer. What I see in this video, tells me this ship and her crew are at the top of the Warship food chain, if you will. Totally BA, in all respects. Her history is one to be extremely proud of. Battle tested & returned to fight. A vital asset in Humanitarian service. So I extend my thanks for service and sacrifice to all crew members & families of USS Princeton - Past, Present & Fiture. Fair Winds and Following Seas. And lastly, but certainly not least, a well deserved BRAVO ZULU

This is my first ship, she went a lot of upgrades and i first hand saw hardship during a yard times. When she was done in the yard, sea trials and fine tuning her was a blase with ease. All i can say she is a mighty ship will sail for long time. its a ship battle ready. This ship will always be in peer #2 during i was with her, golden anchor. Best looking ship, clean, and above all high moral with the sailor. she was a beauty and will always be. honor and glory

I am a plankowner on Princeton. good to see the improvements and changes to the ship and my workspace. I am surprised they allowed cameras in combat. but is is great to see the upgrades to my old workspace. The bridge looked great too. It was entirely paper navigation when the ship was new and GPS was not a proven and reliable system. You got a great Tiger cruise. They typically didnt expend ordinance for tigers when I was in the Navy. The main guns are 5 inch btw. mk 45 mod 2 - 5 inch /54 caliber (ratio of bore diameter to barrel length) the ship number 92 you met has 5 inch 60 caliber guns a little longer barrel. I realize it was a typo caused by wrap around. The biggest main guns that the navy put to sea were 16 inch on the Battle ships. :) the two aircraft that flew by were E-2C pronounced charlie. They are the Navy version of the AWACS airborne early warning radar aircraft. Not tearing up your video I enjoyed the hell out of it. :) We didnt have digital cameras when I was on the ship or cell phones and video taping was highly discouraged since this ship was state of the art in 1989.

I think the 25 inch gun impressed me the most. Ours only got a 5 inch in that spot.
