Today, I visited Second Chance Fox Rescue to see the boys ❤️. It was emotional again, but they're both doing well. I know what I did was best, but it still doesn't make it any easier 😕

I'm just a normal everyday lady who feeds friendly wild foxes and squirrels that come to my garden. Under no circumstances am I trying to tame them as pets or allow them into my home. I am also NOT a fox rescue service. They turn up of their own free will. Being urban, food isn't always easy to find, as not many areas for them to hunt, so I like to try and help them a little if I can. They are not totally reliant on me and haven't lost the ability to hunt for themselves. I will give them medication when needed for mange, infections, and pain, but that is under the close eye of the fox experts 🦊
ChipChip, Cookie, Jimmy, Pip, Daphne, Ringo, and Howie are the seven regulars that arrive most evenings. Basil hasnt been seen since the end of November, just as mating season started 😪 But I live in the hope that he'll return one day 🤞
Biscuit was the first fox to befriend me back in 2021. Unfortunately she passed away Sept 1st 2023 and she is sadly missed by everyone who got to know her 😢❤️ I'd like to thank The Fox Angels Foundation and Second Chance Fox Rescue for all the help, support and advise with trying to help Biscuit. And the continued support they still give me. I can't thank you guys enough! 🦊🥰
Kenny and Norman, my two cats can be seen from time to time, plus there's Dave, the streetlight 🤣 Random cats, and not to forget the squirrels! ❤️ Plus, there's the badger! and sometimes a hedgehog!

It wouldn’t be fair. They’re nocturnal by nature. If Debs lived on a few acres, she could set up a situation for them to thrive, but they tend to like to travel farther than a few acres, and the ecosystem needs them for rodent control. They wouldn’t be happy in the house, and Kenny wouldn’t be happy, either. Plus, they don’t really take to house training.

Simon will never forget you. You two will pop in and out of each other's lives. This is the first of those visits. Just bc you are human and he is fox does not mean a thing. Now Magoo. I have brain things and so does he. Little ones. We may be different, but that is only how we connect outside of us. which means we are overjoyed to see the boys, but not really projecting that. We miss you guys😢. But we LOVE you too! ❤❤❤

It's illegal to hunt fox in the UK. They do have the right to shoot if the fox is disturbing livestock or something... but a fox in the chicken coop is nothing compared to an ERMINE. Little demons. Cute... but demons. lol So technically they are protected. Edit: Also I had an ermine issue once. 4 chickens dead in one night, 3 more the following night. Including giant roosters. Fox takes one and runs. My chickens are my pets. I rescue animals so I have farm guys. :( I would have rather had the fox get in. 😢

Aww Debs. So lovely to see Simon doing his cooing noises at you again. So good to see the foxes thriving! I’m off for a short break on Monday to the Welsh coast with my 11 year old daughter for the whit week holiday, when I return I am adopting my 4th kitty. Debs, YOU'RE the one who sparked their growth, by feeding them that excellent diet that you feed all of "your" Foxes! Thank you for caring for the Earth's creatures! I figured by raising all of those baby Squirrels, I kind of offset my carbon footprint, so to speak. Humans have damaged this Earth. We might as well do what we can by helping in another area. These two you helped with will help not only them, but their progeny.

Same. I keep waiting for him to return. He was gone for 12 (?) weeks last breeding season. It’s not breeding season again, yet, for several months.

Don't think for a second that they forgot you. Scent memory can last a lifetime. I think their fear is that you'll take them out and put them back in their sleeping cage, while theyre much happier in their proper environment. Lol watching the Cubs feed. The same food always looks better in someone else's bowl.

I had to let my two juvenile squirrel babies be apart from me at the wildlife center for about a month, then they called me back to be there at her release, and I took her to her new home with her in the box and she was scared because she was rewilded again, but when we let her go I called her and she totally remembered me and she got all playful. That literally broke my heart but I know that she is better off in the wild so she has a full life, but she totally did remember me I was crying so hard because I missed that little squirrel to this day!!❤❤❤

Morning den mum. So much for you pressure washing and cleaning the front garden. In case you didn't know you re-owned again lol. They haven't forgotten you den mum they are upset with you. Playing hard to get and making sure you know about it. You left them there. They dont know it's for their own good. They will never forget their mum which is you. Those noises is his way of saying he's missed you. And you can see it how hes acting with you. He remembers you den mum. Definitely a pecking order forming now. Bless Simon ran to you as soon as the door opened. Good catch. He's looking good. Surprising how much he's grown in a short space of time. No wonder Steve set a time to bring them back. Can you imagine what your house would be like now? Xx

Hi Deb sorry to ask but I've watched this twice I can't see Magoo. It only Simon, Timmy, presvis, I didn't see Magoo. People are saying he looks sad..he missed Simon's.. PLEASE READ AS THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!! You should all know by now that I've been nagging everyone for the last few weeks about DONATING to the Second Chance Fox Rescue fundraiser to try to get a much needed Van? Yes? Well How's about this? A really big effort is now required to get this Van ASAP not just for Second Chance to be able to do what they do even better than what they do but also because they are willing to (Wait for it) call the Van DEB'S VAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So come on now people the quicker this Van is bought the quicker you are all helping to cement a small legacy for DEB'S. Imagine it, Second Chance going out to rescue in DEB'S VAN!!! And bought by all her followers!!! You can all claim you helped in a small way. Isn't that going to make you feel good? Released at 6 months. Steve is giving them hunting opportunities. They’ll go in with bigger, wilder foxes first.

@@debs3289 Ok my bad!! Confession time!! I asked Steve if they would be willing to call it ''Debs Van''. I thought that would serve 2 purposes. 1, an extra angle to use to try to boost the fundraiser which seems to be hardly moving right now. I stupidly thought as I've described in my comments about it. 2, I genuinely thought it would be a small but nice little legacy for yourself for all the work you do looking after all the Foxes you do now and have done previously. I asked Steve not to tell you when you visited Second Chance so that it would be a surprise for you. If this has made you unhappy about it, then I sincerely apologise and will tell Steve I've got this badly wrong. Certainly no offence was intended. Also the Van wouldn't actually have your name on it, it would have just been called ''Debs Van'', because you will now anyway always have a connection to Second Chance via fostering Simon & Magoo.
