As a shy ambivert, I do much better at socializing in situations where talking to people isn't required or isn't the *point* of being together in the first place. You can only do your best in these situations, and save your capacity to really push the edges of your comfort zones for occasions where the outcome more than makes up for the mental fortitude necessary to do it.
