If I ever have kids, I will take their word over any strangers and even family. I'd hate when things would happen to me as a kid and no one believed me so I learned to just keep quiet and suffer in silence. The first story made me so sad 😢
Diana, i agree with you, the first story was so disturbing but unfortunately we hear all the time where parents DON'T believe their own children when these things happen. So yes, it absolutely IS his mothers fault.
I know! The first story made me so mad! Why did the mom believe in a complete stranger over their child? As a mother you are suppose to protect your child. I have 2 boys and if they ever told me something like this, I would go all mama bear.
Same!!! My son is now 5 but when he started seeing a dentist regularly at 3, the 2nd appt the dentist told me that since my son was so afraid, in order to do any work on him even a simple cleaning they will have to put him in 'the blanket'. What's the blanket i asked? 'Oh umm well its essentially a straight jacket.. So he cant move around at all while we're working on his teeth'. That was the last visit to that dentist. I get it! Like what can you do if a child moves and tries to escape the whole time BUT i personally will just brush n floss more with my son so we can wait til hes a bit older... Poor baby its like his biggest fear.. Damn dentist. I couldn't believe how casual they all talked about it too!! This made me uncomfortable to the point i dont want either of my kids to be seen in an office without me there with them. I have a feeling if i was okay with waiting in the lobby like they had originally asked they would have put him in the blanket anyways..
Oh my goodness, I feel so bad for the kids who had to experience that. If something raises any sort of flag for me, I question my kids. I'll wait till we are in private so they are more comfortable to talk. But I always want their version, especially if there were bruises or marks left.
I love these little life lessons people try to add to the end of their stories sometimes. "Be wary of strangers, especially the ones who follow you home and try to run you over." Gee, thanks for the advice. lol !!
I've listened to Let's Read for almost 9 months and the dentist story is one of the few to really get to me. Maybe because I have a child? Maybe because I'm HUMAN? Either way, this man and his staff were masochists using a dental office for fraud and their own sick delight. Good to see (via a note from another listener) that this monster had been caught. Now I have to go watch cat videos to improve my mood.
Absolutely! This is a common practice for dentists who are abusive or do unecessary dental work done. There is a board that they strap kids down to like a full body straight jacket. I had my dentist ask me to sign a consent for the board for my son and I said he'll no. Look up the chain dentistry office called smile saver or something with smile in it. It is absolutely horrible.
@@englishkingsgamingek2308 I have absolutely no problem believing the dentist story. There was a huge chain dentistry practice in the US that was sued for doing unecessary dental work and being really horrible to kids. Look it up
Went with my daughter as well, but most dentist don’t want to be alone with the kids either. You’ll notice the vast majority of offices are open concept (roughly).
Holographic Multiverse I’ve always respected my dentist. Was just pointing out that in this day and age, open concept is not only functional, but also an apparent move to make it harder to be alone with a sedated patient. It’s been decades since I’ve been completely alone with a provider. Always open room or female aid of some sort.
The four guys doing all they can to protect the girl in the story at 24 mins without her even asking them are amazing men! I love those boys!! Teach your boys to be like these boys and do all they can to protect women in danger.
I thought that was dumb, they beat up that Kevin kid multiple times and he hadnt even laid a hand on any of them. Those 4 boys and that girl just seemed like bullies to me
Omg the first one, it reminds me of my experience with a dentist. When I was a kid I went to this evil dentist and I was so scared of being there I cried (I had and still have a huge fear of syringes and needles). When she attended me she strapped me down, grabbed my face - yelled at me to stop crying because I was a big kid who shouldn’t be crying then later on pulled a tooth out without putting any anesthesia or anything to numb my mouth which made me cry harder and got her more upset. I don’t remember what happened after that, only finally leaving the room. I did tell my mom what happened but only after we left the dentist. she ended up kinda believing me but luckily took me to see a different dentist. She thought I was just exaggerating my experience.
Story one hit hard because as a very young child I had a similar experience but the abuse was not as extreme. This pediatric dentist would have his assistant sit on top of you, teeth pulled without novocaine, fluoride treatments where you dropped and choked over a kidney shaped barf bowl, etc. He had a treasure chest that he let some kids pick a toy out of while others like me were not allowed to pick but were handed a prize. He seemed to favor boys. When we changed dentists and I learned what good dentists were like, I was never afraid to go again.
The "landscaper" guy sounds like someone who's casing the house and has done this before, having a back up in case cops show up, and being pretty cocky while roaming the property.
When I was in high school I needed a molar pulled. It had a silver filling which came out when eating & when back in sideways, causing my molar to crack all the way to root. I had 2 options, get a rootcanel or get it pulled. I was so scared & nervous that the numbing wasn't working. He was annoyed that it was taking too long for me to feel numb & said I was lying. Said that it was just my mind. He then proceeded to take it out & I felt it all. Tears were rolling down my cheeks because it was an adult molar & already had roots. I finally felt the numbing kick in half an hour after it had gotten pulled. After that I refused to go to the dentist until i needed my wisdom teeth extracted.
6:14 I can understand that some people are charismatic but it also shows just how many people are sheep, even when faced with obvious signs of their own child being abused. Anyone who has a child should always go out of their way to look out for them and develop keen intuition and awareness of trouble. It may come off as harsh but so many people take their kids for granted and didn't even want them in the first place. You're leaving them scarred for life because you weren't a propper parent. I'm not saying be a social justice vigilante and find things to complain about, but please keep children safe. They are looking to you to provide guidance and be their protector.
This is my favorite channel for spooky stories. I watch your videos for sleeping, long drives, and doing dishes at work. You're voice is somehow soothing and at the same time you don't shift the mood from being scary to lighthearted. It's perfectly balanced. Thanks for the great content.
I had a a nightmare dentist. I was little and scared when I started crying he put both hands on the side of my face squeezed and told me if I don't stop crying he was going to pull my pants down and spank me with his belt. Of course I stopped crying. I was 6. But why did he have to say he was going to pull my pants down??? WOW!!!! Crazy ass people in this world.
DUDE NO The dentist reminded me of this gross story *ITS GROSS YOU'VE BEEN WARNED* A dentist was putting some stuff in his patients mouths after they got it drilled and one girl recognized the taste (I have to give her gross credit cause that was probably embarrassing) and HE WAS PUTTING BABY GAVY IN THEIR MOUTHS. THERE WERE A LOT OF PATIENTS BEFORE HE WAS DISCOVERED. SORRY FOR TYPOS MY PHONE HATES ME
Real dentist nightmare story here. I went to the dentist to get my wisdom teeth removed. The dentist says he can only do the tops and he doesn't have any numbing stuff to inject in my gums. Dentist says he can give me laughing gas for pain. I just agreed to let this guy torture me because the gas had zero effect on me (it was brutal). Since then every time I sit in a dentist chair my body starts shaking and I've needed to be held down for simple dental work.
I experienced a similar dentist when I was a kid, back when there was an epidemic of screwy offices using melted aluminum to appear as cavities needing a filling. They knocked me out with some heavy anesthetic which put me to sleep for 4 hours, according to my mom, and refused to release me until I woke. They unnecessarily tried and failed to extract my supernumerary teeth, damaged my gums, and left aluminum permanently melted into 5 teeth. There really are some messed out people out there, it's crazy to realize how common events like this really are. We need more horror movies about these guys!
Yay, Another video to fall asleep too. It’s perfect timing for me as I’ve just got in bed as it’s almost 1am here. I absolutely love your videos. Much love from England.
Dentist story is the exact reason I’m scared of the dentist. I was put in a straight jacket to keep me from moving. When my mom found out she wanted to kill them
for late night horror stories and creepy pasta ..theres this app called " Planet of horrors " in playstore ...they work offline too ...thank me later buddy
Just got home from work not long ago and was in tha shower thinking about how I'm going to relax just to get out to a notification for new Let's Read.. Sooo, bed here I come wit my vape and snacks lmao
Story freaking number 5 has me in the most irritated and terrified mood. That poor girl!!! What the hell happened why would they do that especially if she was so young. Note to self always panic to a 911 op. It'll actually get their if they can hear distress something to let them know you need help asap
I was always in with my kids and would’ve never taken them back if they said they were scared. Red flag if they don’t want a parent in there. I know first hand. Did it once time. Never ever again.
I'm sorry but that friend story is so cute. Not the weirdo part but, for the four guys who really tried to protect the girl from Kevin. 💙 wow, those are really good friends.
Ahhh! I just got my wisdom tooth out 2 days ago and i have a huge phobia of dentists and doctors offices! Im still in pain, i got stitches too cause the tooth was partly impacted. The tooth man??? Nope. NOPE. Big Nope. 😱😱
I don't understand why people use letters for names. Just make up a name, or use their real names. No one is gonna know who they are. You don't have to tell us you're changing names or whatever. Really ruins the flow of the story.
First story sounds alot like a dentist I had. Let's call him Dr. M. I had to have my gums cut open for my front teeth to come in. I freaked out at the needle and he grabbed me by my shirt collar and hauled me up into the chair, yelling at me for crying. We never did anything because we figured we didn't have enough money or power to sue him. Bastard is still in practice to this day.
If any doctor, dentist, nurse or whoever states you as a parent, can't be with your underage child, grab your child and run. Unless it is a surgical procedure under sterile situations, There is absolutely zero reason why a parent can not be with their child.
