Ha! The tech is just the "teleportation gear." The real meaning and experience for a group comes from the delivery and great facilitation. If I could forget all the things I now know about USB Hubs, I happily would haha!

Chad "Littlefield", you're a "Big-Deal." Awesome video. I can't begin to tell you how important this content is to me at the moment. I'm working on putting typeface my first workshop online. There are so many pieces to fit in place, and content such as this are a heaven-send. Thanks a bunch. I commend you for your effort and wish you infinite success going forward. If I can help in any way please feel free to reach out.

Loving your generosity Chad, thank you as always. I have 2 questions if you don't mind answering here (I'm sure others may find your responses useful:) 1. Can you explain why you use 2 mics again? The one positioned above your camera seems more than adequate? 2. Do you find that when you Zoom sharescreen with your audience using eCamm Live, does your audience see video degradation (because this is what happens to me) which basically strips out the HD quality of your set-up?
@chad.littlefield
@chad.littlefield 3 года назад
I got two mics originally for recording purposes as the mic on my camera is portable. I like using the other "podcast mic" for presenting though because I can move it around and closer to my mouth to really change up the audio experience for participants. Regarding quality...yes if they have poor internet and can degrade screensharing. So if I'm showing something in details like navigating a website, I typically screen share directly via Zoom as that is much higher quality. But if I'm just drawing something out quick on the iPad, I'll use eCamm.

Chad, thanks so much for all you do. As I prepare to update my set up I revisited this video. Do you know of an ecamm equivalent for PC? Its such a critical game changer
@chad.littlefield

Yes, that would be OBS. All who spend the time to really learn it end up loving it from what I have heard.

Sorry. 2 more questions. Is the caldigit hub plugged directly into your laptop? And does the caldigit hub act as an additional power supply for your camera or do you have your camera plugged into the extra power supply that you’ve listed in the description box of this video? I have a different camera but part of what us holding me back from live streaming with is the power supply issue. I have a Sony zv1. Thanks for your help. I’ve just discovered you.
@chad.littlefield
@chad.littlefield 3 года назад
First of all, welcome to the channel! Glad to be connected. Secondly, the cal digit is plugged straight into my laptop and it does power my laptop. But the camera requires that power bypass which is basically just like a battery pack that actually plugs in. I have it on for 8+ hours a day sometimes with absolutely no issues. It is a majorrrrr life saver. Make sure the Sony zv1 has "clean HDMI output" before going too too far though. I'm not familiar with that camera.
@ShawnMHowell
@ShawnMHowell 3 года назад
@@chad.littlefield thank you so much for explaining. I have streamed with my Sony sv1 previously and it does great streaming. I googled “clean hdmi output” and if I’m understanding what that means then yes my Sony has clean hdmi output. I’m so happy to have stumbled across your channel. I’ve been learning all about ping pong and popcorn discussions and so much more from you that I know I’ll be referring back to. I spent an hour on Easter watching your videos. Lol

@@chad.littlefield that’s awesome that you’ve seen my stuff. This past year I experienced some awesome growth on my channel but that growth exposed how much I still need to learn about my presentation style. I was invited to do 5 zoom workshops around the globe by various schools and universities and had no idea what I was doing. Lol I did all 5 of those workshops for the experience and loved it. My background is in church work. I had 8 years of formal training in theology but only one class in presenting and zero classes on how to facilitate meetings and workshops. So when youtube recommended your channel to me, I was so excited because you have that knowledge and experience that I don’t have. I have so much to learn from you. I love your use of analog visuals in your videos. I used your links to order a bunch of stuff off Amazon and I added some emoji cutouts to my cart. I’m excited to brainstorm how I can integrate them into my future live streams. Thanks again and I look forward to your next video!

Hello, Chad! Thanks for putting this together. It was a HUGE help as I considered ways to invest in my setup. I like how you have the Rode VideoMic Pro off to the side of the video display. Did you use an adhesive of some kind for that or is there a little something I'm missing to make that happen?
@chad.littlefield
@chad.littlefield 3 года назад
The mic off to the left which I use for most zoom meetings and presentations is held up by a boom alarm. I believe the link to that is in the description but I will check. The other mic on top of my camera was made to mount to the camera, but I really only use that mic for recording videos.
@jenmein9815
@jenmein9815 3 года назад
Ah, I see. Thanks! For me, when I have the camera's digital display screen flipped up and in selfie mode, the microphone mounting slot sits right in front of it thus a mic would block my view of the camera's display. It kinda looked like you had found a way around that.
@jenmein9815
@jenmein9815 3 года назад
I found a solution for my issue. Yay! I'm going to get this adapter relocation plate to move my mic off to the side of the camera's display: www.amazon.com/SMALLRIG-Adapter-Relocation-Plate-A6100/dp/B07RMX2BS7/ref=sr_1_26?dchild=1&keywords=a6400+camera+bracket&qid=1628106655&s=electronics&sr=1-26

@chad.littlefield
@chad.littlefield 3 года назад
Those monitor arms actually came with the Uplift desk directly from their website. I THINK you can purchase separately but I'm not sure. To be honest though, I would totally recommend. They are a bit bouncy. I would actually just get a stand that sets on the desk instead if I were to redo it.

Thank you for this video. Question...what is the white cable from your capture card to the cal digit dock? I have the cam link 4K already and the mini hdmi to hdmi cord but am going to purchase the caldigit dock you suggest. But what us the little white cord and which port are you plugging it into? Thanks so much!
@chad.littlefield
@chad.littlefield 3 года назад
That is a USB to USB-C but you most likely won't need that. I ran out of regular USB ports on the CalDigit, so I had to use an extra dongle (a bit annoying).
