My Disaster First Day In Indonesia!!

This was my first day in Jakarta Indonesia and it ended up being a disaster; In this Indonesia travel vlog I show my entry into the Jakarta International Airport (Soekarno-Hatta) and the process of getting into the country. I take a Grab taxi to my hotel and show some scenes along the way of the bustling city of Jakarta. I arrive at my hotel "Sans Roxy Hotel" in West Jakarta and it seems decent from the outside, also it was only costing $10 a night. I arrive a bit early so I have to wait till I can check in, so I take a walk to a coffee shop nearby (Maxx Coffee) to work a bit and grab so coffee and breakfast. The girl who served me there Rusya was such a nice person and gave me an amazing coffee presentation. I proceed to check in to my hotel. I do not usually complain about hotels but this hotel is situated right above a ridiculously loud Karaoke bar which goes till 2AM and this was not mentioned anywhere. Also i have trouble breathing in the room because it smells like gasoline at night and it really is nauseating. Needless to say, I end up leaving this hotel on my second night in the middle of the night. I would not recommend this hotel (Sans Hotel Roxy) to any of my audience who plans to visit Jakarta. All my other hotel stays after this in Jakarta were really good, but i guess you get what you pay for. My first day in Jakarta, Indonesia was a disaster mainly because of the hotel, other than that it was fine.

Check in after 2-4pm is standard in almost every country. It is known. It’s weird that you had to have that conversation with yourself.

Well, that's the price you have to pay. So much potential for the place. If the management can only improve the facility, it could be the best budget hotel in the area. That's a great discovery and heads up to future travelers. Thanks, Mayer and always keep safe!

I did RU-vid search: "first time in Jakarta", and I found most tourists/vloggers was happy. Then I found your video, the only video who have bad experiences. Really sorry to hear that, but I suggest you to never ever take below 20$ hotel in Indonesia if you want to stay overnight. 40$ above is suitable for vloggers. For your information, 10$ hotel is mostly used by a "short-time couple", not for resting overnight. And no matter how you complain about that hotel, pretty sure they don't care considering their cheap price with low rating. So make sure you always check the hotel ratings before you check in.

The more shocking things that he disappointed that he couldn't do early check in where generally hotel/resort check in time is at 2 PM. I believe that in the invoice there is information about it. In case you come early, you have to inform in advance if you would like to early check in, if not then just gambling for luck of the availability of the room at that time with no right to complain about at all.

When you stay in Jakarta, it's better to staying in a hotel at the Central Jakarta or South Jakarta area, it's a little more expensive but definitely more comfortable , there are a lot of public transportation , like MRT, Bus Way , LRT , Shopping Mall, Hangout places etc

oh nice! you’re in jakarta! my wife is from there, great place, nice malls, many things to do! my wife’s 1st cousin manages a way nicer hotel near you way better than that $10 a night one lol Aviary hotel in Bintaro. let me know if you want to stay there. but if you’re already out of jakarta, hope you go to bali, lombok, jogya, and bandung! man i miss all that indonesian food! regards from a Fil-Am from Chicago! stay safe.

I'm Ethiopian My wife is Indonesian. I just left Indonesia last month. My advice is avoid touristy spot like Bali. So many vloggers in Indonesia now.

Ga bakalan bro, nongol juga kaga ntar tu daerah pusat kota di vlog dia. Muter2 daerah itu-itu aja ntar, naik gunung kaga, surfing kaga, diving kaga, hiking kaga, paralayang kaga apalagi mau ke mentawai, komodo atau raja ampat, jauuuhh. A cheap hotel shouldn't mean dirty and smelling. It might mean it is small, lacks facilities and service. I'd expect that, but not the dirt and smell. So some of the comments are a bit unfair that he was complaining. This is the first video I've watched of Myer's. I enjoyed it, I've subscribed and will definitely watch his other content.

as I remember previously free visa but due to free visa a lot of tourists from Russia and Ukraine came and created problems In Bali, they had no money, and started working to make money in Bali illegally. This is a problem with local residents because local residents pay taxes and they don't.

Ya ... sorry this is a fact of life. Cheap hotels then you get what you pay. And of course as you said in the title disaster, you basically ask for a disastrous experience. You also said, why there is karaoke music so loud? Well the hotel is a ... "after karaoke get a room to f" basically... choose and spend wisely next time... pay more and stay in the central or south jakarta amd use google for translation and search for best spots
