I agree. People should put as much care into buying a dog bed as they put into their own bed. Also put the bed into a corner if you can so they feel protected on two sides. 😀💕

He doesn't really want help. The instinct to create a bed is a leftover from earlier times. He's only looking at her because she's watching him, and if she tried to help, he'd have to start all over.

It always amuses me when they do that. And how satisfied they look when they finally get it juts right.

For an old dog it really can be.

My dog tries to do this when she’s sleeping on the couch with no sheet or blanket and I just have to stare at her in her process. She’ll gradually nudge whatever sheet or blanket I put down for her over to the edge of the seat, and then try to scratch the couch cushion into a different shape. I really want to say “you know it doesn’t work like that, right?”, but obviously there’s no point, so I keep staring & wishing I understood what she was thinking.

​@@AbsoluteLeeNot Abigail (the beagle) is gone now but it tired me out watching her go through this process. When she was finally satisfied, she would plop down. So cute!
