They are German Spitz (Duestche Spitz Hund, called in Germany). They were brought to America during WWII and the breed name changed to American Eskimo which was Wrong to do but it was the only way American's would accept these beauties. American's hated the dogs because of the dogs nationality. To me they are Duestche Spitz Hunds and always will be. Enjoy them as they are highly intelligent. I called the one I had and the one I have now my furry daughter and I love her big time. I am proud. Once in a while I call her my mini polar bear.
No he is Indian spitz it was first breeded through german spitz by britishers in late 1800s because they want a dog that survive the harsh conditions of indian cliamte. it is one of the most popular dog in india right now. So we can say that American eskimo and indian spitz are brothers from same mother. Yes they are very intelligent.
Just like my Duetsch Spitz. They are not or ever have been American Eskimo's. Don't ever ever let anyone tell you any different. I have had these beauties for years. They're highly loyal to there owners and I have proof of that. Mine saved me from death twice. They are highly loving.
