I have a rough collie SDIT and he's semi-velcro. He definitely follows me around but he also loves to play with our kids (he just turned two). I do notice that the worse I feel (currently pregnant in the 1st trimester) the more present he is. Early on I was very anemic and very sick with nausea and he was right there with me, making sure I got up and down the stairs safely and standing over me if I had to lay down on the ground to catch my breath. This is not what he is being trained for but he does naturally. Now that I'm feeling better, he's more comfortable leaving me to go play on his own and only periodically checking on me.

My dog follows me everywhere, except the bathroom, he doesn’t like baths and he knows what goes on in there! 😂 when he sees me enter the bathroom, he’ll stop following me and flee the other way, but once I exit the bathroom, he’ll start following me again. He won’t sleep until I am in bed, and he won’t eat until he sees me eat (unless it’s treats ofcourse, he’ll gobble those without a thought whenever he gets them). He’s a 20 pound poodle-Maltese-shihtzu mix and looks just like a fluffy white teddy bear.

My dog is 14 years old and he started doing this even more. He follows me even when I go to the toilet lol. He's a pinzscher

I have a rescue mix, probably a Pom cross. I just want to know how his fur "works" We live in a hot country so I like to cool him off in the mountain stream (or the sea sometimes). His curly coat stays wet for long. However, his tail, which is wiry straight hair, just doesn't get wet at all. I can swish his tail around in the water to make sure it is wet (seawater or fresh water) and when it comes out it is dry. Like Teflon. Amazing.

Some dogs have a top coat and an undercoat of fur, the top coat actually repels water.

Have an Aussie....my shadow❤. In the event he goes to laydown domewhere else ..i go look for him. I must be a velcro dog owner😂

I have a new Beagle. She's a rescue from a hoarding situation then placed with her foster mom that had her son, (yes they breed them too in the hoarding home they were in), and 9 bagels of her own. She was adopted by me 5 days ago. She follows me everywhere. As did my previous dog who also came from a hoarding house and had to eat his own poop cuz they wouldn't feed him. For my new dog that was not the case. Should I be worried?

I wouldn't be too concerned yet, when you get a new dog especially a rescue it takes 4-5 months for them to really settle in and their true personality to come out. Just have patience and treat her as well as you can :)

@@Brightdog she's fully pampered like a princess. Except people food. I don't allow that.
