Thanks for taking us on a trip to IKEA. I’m still working from home and not going out to crowded places like IKEA, so I really appreciated this video trip.
I'm dying right now. That has been my dream craftroom for 10 years. Not even kidding. I've seen it every time I go. They change up the back but the desk is the same. Lol I'm working on mine this week. Hoping honey can help. Tfs Tiffany.
I was going to watch this video for a minute or 2, but it was so good. Lovely voice on this young lady as I cannot stand youtubers who yell really loud. Ther's information here for everyone!
IKEA should totally do "win a room makover" as a raffle or something lol that would be cool. I'd totally pick my craft room cuz its the most unorganized lol
Tiffany, thank you for allowing me to get over any buyers remorse. My IKEA delivery should be here today. After watching, I'm only bummed out I didn't get the table at the end that folds up. It was the first I looked at. But I am thinking to get it anyway and tuck it away when I'm not using it. Happy crafting.
I like the idea of pegboards, and the picture shelves for small items, but they use up important real estate on your walls that I would rather use for shelf units. I also like the idea of a dedicated desk but again you have to be creative in a small space. I built my craft room with Kallax units on as many walls as possible, and a rolling table in the middle made out of two of the short wide Alex units and a tabletop on top of them attached with velcro so I can disassemble it if I need to. I can move the table back and forth, put it up against one shelf unit or the other depending on what I'm working on, and I have plenty of room to work and store stuff. My biggest organization tip: Buy some of the tracks and totes that are made for the CreateRoom Dreambox. They fit perfectly in the Kallax unit.
I’ve been card making 4 yrs, I’m no way near that organized. I have a small craft room, which is full currently, and small. so I craft and have tons more craft supplies and desks or tables in my dinning rm and lvg room. Im overwhelmed right now, don’t know where to start. Have so many dies, stamps, paper and different ink pads. Ink pads, mini ink pads are in wooden ktcn boxes from Walmart. Oxide ink pads are in a wall ink pad storage from Organize More, I believe it’s called. Paper scraps are my biggest problem. I’m so in love with your craft room, love your desk and ideas.IKEA is a very far drive in Canada . Love the closet storage items in IKEA. Tfs
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve rearranged my craft items - switched rooms, used different types of furniture that when all was put away looked amazing but then I began using stuff & id never put it away bc it wasn’t simple...the same goes for using things that were either a pain to reach or out of sight out of mind...then I watched a video by Julie balzer in which she said while organizing to keep in mind your cutlery draw. Everything should be as easy to locate, as easily accessible & as easy to put away as your forks spoons knives etc. use lots of drawers & label them all....not the most aesthetically pleasing of all the different ways I’ve tried to organize but it seems the most aesthetically pleasing = least functional & the least aesthetically pleasing the most functional so I guess it depends on what you’re looking for...
The Alex drawer comes out all the way if you take the small screw out of the slide. It's there so if it topples, Ikea can't be sued, but as long as you don't overfill your unit and don't open all the drawers at once, it's very stable and you can access the full drawer.
Sorry Carisa. It is hard to balance out being too slow.... and too fast hahaha. I may have a better video I can put on Instagram or in my stories here on RU-vid. I will let you know when I put it up.
Thanks so much! When I am filming I felt I was moving like a sloth LOL!! I don't do many of these types of videos but I will for sure be more mindful if I do!
Thank you very much, very well done video, shame most of the stuff is impossible to read the label but I guess with all the people always around it is not easy to stop and get a good comprehensive picture of every single piece.
Thanks for the video Tiffany, it's been almost 1.5 years since my last trip to IKEA so I hope the new products I saw in the video are available in my country too.
I did have the hemnes tower night stand when i hade only a corner of the guess room beacause it match the deesser i had. Now i have a room all to my self in the house we purchase and the hemnes pieces are in the nusrsery and i have a kallax unit instead. But we can make so many items fits our needs.
We came back from the one in Merriam funny you have many of the things I looked at n mentioned the same things like the Kallax drawers are not deep. I bought a tray to go in my Alex drawer but it wasn’t by them n I didn’t know if it would fit. I don’t like that things get lost in the back of the drawers. I thought the divided tray will help.
My most disappointing Ikea purchase was the Alex drawers. I couldn't believe none had mentioned they only open half way. To say that is a pain in the neck is being generous. They are also pretty shallow. You can make them work, but it was a large, unpleasant surprise.
I have a video on my channel where I do say that they only open about 1/2 way and that there is so much wasted space. I mention the frustration in other videos too. They aren't cheap either which is so frustrating.
Would be so helpful if you could include the name of the IKEA products to help facilitate easier searches for the products. Will check back again and subscribe if you’re able to include that info in the future. Thank you! Happy shopping and crafting, everyone!!
Love your insights, thank you! Wish I lived closer to an IKEA. Solid wood might be more pricy but it’s worth it because it’ll stand up to a beating and can be repaired, making it a good investment. Whereas less expensive fiberboard might look the same but the surface often is easily damaged, and the fiberboard itself cannot be repaired if it’s broken, making it not as good of an investment.
I live about a hour from Ikea. We don't go often but it is always fun! You are so right about actual wood. I think I am going to have my hubby make me a desk eventually. Thanks so much!
Hello Tiffany thanks for all the great ideas you shared! Can you by chance remember the name of the grey drawer unit with metal handles that you called your dream craft room? The one that looked like a work station. You did not show a tag for it in the video. Thanks again!
i find it telling that some of the cabinetry you chose were actually SHALLOW bookcases. A fella here on youtube that demonstrates his product, EZStud something something, actually promotes the premise that any time you “hide” an item behind something that is not at the very least closely SIMILAR, you have indeed LOST it. You can’t utilize what you don’t remember you have, and truly “out of sight IS out of mind”. I’d L O V E to have the crafter’s closet he helped one lady do in her craft room. EVERYthing is accessible. Even if we’re saddled with standard depth cabinets, it’d still behoove us to install rollout drawers (horizontal), or something akin to vertical spice shelves that can pull out - B U T with shelves at least deep enough to accommodate dvd cases? I’m finding that sooo M A N Y things fit in those gems (I’ve bought the thicker ones. Not only will they hold unmounted stamps, but also die cuts, card bases, and the like for a project in progress!), and the labeling makes it as easy as finding a book on a shelf!
"Bängbula"?? I am Swedish and have always wondered what those who are not Scandinavian think of the names of Ikea stuff;-)! Most are placenames, at least the furniture, but some have really fun random Swedish words, but I have to confess never to have heard the expression "bängbula" before;-). The american branch of Ikea seems to have more stuff than we have in the Swedish ikea stores, loads of small interesting organisation stuff I have never seen before, and then I go to Ikea at least every other month. Interesting video to watch, especially for us in Europe as we over here never can get hold of those special cardmaking/scrapbooking organisation stuff you have over in the US, like ink storage.
I tried my best to get the names. Some of them didn’t have the names on the tags. Let me know if you have any questions about anything specific I can try and look it up! Thanks for watching!
Hi Tiffany, thank you so much for the Ikea walk-through! What is the name of the white bins with lids in the small organization section of your video? Are they found in the bathroom section?
Oh no!! What a shame. I love the wire baskets a lot. I didn't get any just yet but I feel like I should have. Well... I hope maybe they will get something similar in the UK for you. Thanks for watching!
I have gotten some questions about my "dream" set up and the desk and cabinets are from the kitchen department. It is not an actual desk. I hope this helps. I can not find it on the website and there was no name on the tags.
It’s might be the Sektion. You can pick your base cabinet and handles too. It comes in this 6 drawer in bodbyn gray. The handles/cabinet pulls are Eneryda.
What is the name of the white plastic/acrylic boxes with lids? Low trays, rectangular boxes with lids, circle opening. Came right after the Godmorgon set. Thanks.
If you ever have a great way to store molds... Let a girl know.. amazing video your room is already beautiful I can't wait to see the updates 😉 also Abby's too cute not to include in the video 💞
the desk (in your dream set up) that had the drawers and the huge top with the sewing machine, what is the name of that? i tried to go back and look but i couldn't see the name-thanks!
Those boxes with the lids shy around 1 min 40 to 1 min 50 the mint and the ones you said you have in white, do you know what they're called theyre exactly what im looking for, also do they fit in kallax ?
@@Tiffany.Solorio thank you so much! Im just doing my studio out at the moment and buying new organising furniture and stuff for it, I make watercolour paint by hand so I have soooooo so many jars 😅 and these look ideal!
@@debwilson306 Oh wow! That is so amazing that you do that! I have seen the process of doing that. So cool! I hope you find something that works for you! Thanks so much!
I don’t normally write negative comments as I know there’s a human behind everything on the internet, but I couldn’t get past the 5000th consecutive thing that you “love” in IKEA. And that’s in the first couple of minutes. I’m sure there are plenty (60k+ people) that do enjoy your videos, but it felt disingenuous with no real opinion on anything [isn’t that why people watch a particular person’s videos?] and I couldn’t continue to watch. Each to their own, though.
