The world needs an Alwyn Oak boutique, witchy shop, furniture shop ... whatever, as long as it's a shop featuring your creations! People would flood it in their thousands! My favourite bit.... remembrance. How I used to decorate like this, all the way back in the 90s and early 2ks. I had glowy stars on the ceiling, branches tied to the bed like trees, leaves on the floor and magical bits everywhere. Over the years of having to move so much and dealing with mental illness. I got accustomed to white rented walls I couldn't do anything to. I'd forgotten how much I used to make my house a home. Lately I've been thinking about who I want to be, and then you popped up to remind me who I am. Thank you! (also I love the pirate ship plates best!) 💚

Favorite moments: seeing all your treasures like tree shadows by candle light, AND Charlie coming in through the window and looking immediately at home in the “new” room! I felt nervous as you began to paint, but just like you, quickly saw the Magick coming to life! All of your special touches like rounding the corners and mixing 2- and 3-D ivy are things I need to remember, as you’ve really made this room such a beautifully immersive woodland space. BRAVO!

I remember that film. It was beautifully set. The colours were truely divine. I too was completely inspired by it. A lot of the effect is created by good lighting. Lighting can create beautiful effects and moods and can really play with colour.

Something I discovered when I finally painted inside my house is that you DEFINITELY need darker walls to make the outside pop through the windows. White and cream to highlight inside the room, darker walls to highlight the outside. 😊

I love the colors!! Reminds me of The Craft and all the movies of that time. So cozy! You have such a lovely view. If you put your bed on the side wall instead of the back wall you could watch everything outside while sitting back in bed.

I could watch for hours. You have created my ideal space. I imagine a room with windows al around with tiny lead lights of colour and forest glade outside with whimsical fairies creating eco systems of magic. Green sage is my favourite colour with touches of the softest lilacs. I hope to find my cottage of dreams soon. Thank you for sharing your creative magic.

Im not even done watching your video but, I just painted my front room a medium olive green. Bringing the beautiful outdoors inside. Although I am a sea witch that lives in Chicago, I do love all of nature. Everything is nature inspired in my home. I do notice from other British DIY videos, the paint out there is horrible. Here in the United States, just 2 coats with a good oil based paint and bam its totally covered forever. Love your videos Alwyn. Blessed be.

Ive really been wanting to clean up my room repaint/decorate it. I’ve been doing loads of laundry and organizing but I haven’t yet done the painting and decorating. I tend to struggle with motivation but watching this video really gave me a motive to work towards! I want to paint my room green too (a bit darker than yours tho) so seeing what my room could look like is really inspiring!

I love your colours; I have that green that you have on your walls a lot in my home. I love the fairy theme; my mantlepiece has an array of fairies on it. And those brass ships! Because I’ve always been drawn to the ocean & ship motif (as I am a water sign)-I really enjoyed you bringing in the lovely golden plates with the ships on them. I think this brings just the right amount of water element to the room to help nourish your new forest fairy ambiance to thrive and be happy.

Wow, I decorated my room a couple of months back, half green, half white. With plants and forestry green bedding, wood and my lovely green fairy mirror my mother bought me years ago. Then I saw this, made my heart smile. So calm , so relaxing, so one with nature 🍃 ❤ and of course the Fairy’s 🧚

That was one of my favorite movies as a child, Those imaginary places she journeyed too and that school were captivating. I think I most like the lighting effect at night in the room, it reminds me somewhat of midsummer nights dream.

Your room is pretty.. i love the color green.. i would suggest painting the ceiling in some rooms too... i just switched rooms with my young adult son.. he has the masterbedroom suite with a private bath.. I moved into the smaller bedroom (12 feet by 15 feet so still roomy).. i painted the walls a green silvery blue color and the ceiling a few tones lighter with flat paint. The walls are almost flat too so it creates a soft cozy room that envelopes me.. i have 3 windows with white curtains that have beautiful botanicals on them.. i added lots of fake plants and succulants that i got mostly at thrift stores... i love my bedroom now..

I just moved into a new flat and I am loving it!! my old place was dark and had little light or ventilation. I never felt like it was "home" so i never decorated. This video came at the perfect time. I'm ready to bring some enchantment into my life/new home. Your style is just the kind of environment i want for my bedroom. I actually decided to flip the bedrooms. The master with ensuite is larger, but looks out on the garages and parking lot. The second was to be my art studio. This looked out onto a lovely pond with trees and nature in full view. So i took the smaller bedroom with the wonderful view as my bedroom. The master bedroom is now my art studio and i have plenty of room for all my creative ideas to come to life. i'm so excited to bring a magical essence to every room. I even converted my old "China Cabinet" into a mystical cabinet to display my crystals, cards and trinkets. Thank you for your lovely inspiration. And for being YOU!
