As a doom and black metal guy, this board is pretty intimidating lol but it is set up amazingly! What you guys do is incredible! The board is almost an instrument in itself and that is so cool to me! Keep it up!
I am musically illiterate, but deeply enjoyed this entire video. The detail, the breakdown of everything, the way you talked about it made a technical topic very easy to enjoy! Also I love the way you make sounds wiggle like they're moving underwater or through space or between time. It's very floaty and relaxing 💕
Yes, i did discover your channel thanks to Hainbach. But the use of traditional instruments to do amazing effects is just what i always wanted. i'll probably still record through soviet spy recorders sometimes though.

Thank you so much for explaining the signal path, the reasons why, and also explaining exactly what you're doing when you're tweaking! Some of these pedals are so complex (I have the microcosm, and Dark Star) and it's a science to even understand how to GET the sound we hear in our head! Great video, thank you!
I've watched a lot of effects YT videos over the past year, and this is the best setup I've seen. Appreciate the level of detail and clear labelling/directions in your demos.

Wow, that is nuts. Appreciate Russ' deep dive and explanation for each pedal and why it's included. It's clear that this board has been put together after much careful thought to its use-case. It has everything you need and nothing that you don't. Having said that, I have a feeling that this will not be the last iteration - or indeed the last board you put together. There's always scope for a smaller, more manageable board for additional / alternative effects. Nice job!

4:30 my Gosh thats sooooo wonderful wow!!!! My favorite harp music is this and the Harp in the movie Balde Runner. Im like a David Gilmour guy the way i play for a long time and he shouldve used harp in his solo music or Pink Floyd. I wonder what guitar and harp layered would sound like.
That is such a cool way to use the Plus pedal…I have to look into that. I have a giant mega board that I have set up for various instrument inputs going through crazy effects but I need to add in a switcher system since I don’t have a Russ! 🎶

Excellent selection of quality effects! Truly a modern board. You should probably get a mini phase 95. This stuff does subtle magic and does not take a lot of space (or mA). Cheers!

I know Emily, I know .I'm making my ultimate pedal board. I'm just doing it for the sole purpose of excess. my old board was a SKB case with the built in power supply. Then I had a white dunlop wah pedal and a tone works distortion. I had a boss bass chorous and a flanger and a digital display. Ya know! Any way this time I'm building a board with all (mostly) EH pedals. The first thing I got was a Bass small clone to replace my boss CB-3. Then to replace my Boss DD-2-14 delay pedal I opted for an old analog pedal I found at my friend TJ's shop, LOVE OF FUZZ, in troy NY/. The flanger i just didn't replace. If Emily can't kill the song by herself by now, thenmn that's girl is gone! Sorry my chick singer in my cover band is named Emily too, She is really pretty!
Any way I had fun with my Bass micro synth, and I love my old Roland . I wish people around here were more open minded. The EH POG is a fun play thing. But thasts aboput it evcept for a truner I got for $23 on amazol.
you know what i stumbled across one of your videos a few days ago, never seen you before. and i swear i heard the characteristics of the old blood noise endeavours dark star. i absolutely love it aye, you just know when it's in the chain even if you don't see it - it's got this compressed ambience i couldn't recreate with any amount of verbs in a chain. one of a kind

@@emilyharpist oh thank you too Emily! I love synths, but i have reached my bank limit, and can no longer keep on spending money on more synths XD. So i have turned into the wonderfull and expensive world of pedals! Is it cheaper than buying synths? You bet. ¿Is it going to help my bank account? Not in the slightest, but you, your videos and your harp have been a delightfull way to get familiarized with some AMAZING pedals. That custom neon sign is too specific and the BOSS & DOD comments needed a trigger warning. Some of us having been using these things since before there were people who figured out they could make better ones and/or make the ones they have better. You talented young musical children are lucky to have the support of each other with the RU-vid’s, other SM, and all of the small LLCs making these Extra Terrestrial Dr Greer devices that increase the sonic capabilities of your audio input and make each others audio endeavors and the world a better place. Excellent and THX for the explanations of routing process and purpose. Now I’ve got to get back to my BOSS DS1. It’s on a huge board because a modified it and put it into a 12”x12’ speaker cab that I painted orange and black.

Fantastic. The weight of that thing will break your back, may I suggest 3D printing light weight housings for each item & getting stickers from the sponsors so they won't feel left out. This will shave quite a bit of weight off of the board but still protect your devises.
Thanks so much Craig!! It’s actually not that heavy! I’m just really weak 😂 Russ has no problem carrying it with one hand - the board doesn’t use much wood and is extremely light! The pedals are the majority of the weight but it’s not so bad!

Emily, it never ends! LOL My board right now is very good for what I do musically for now, but who knows! Well I also have a Line 6 DL4 mk 1 I know that's getting replaced with the Mk2! The Song you played at 04:32....it gave me one of the most wonderfull feelings in my life. I cloed my eyes and it took me too a Dimension where i thought " ok...this is it, now im ready to die" But i didnt. And its odd but...i feel a little bit sad about it. This felt like THE Moment.
Dark star on everything!!! 🤣 This was really great pedalboard rig rundown, I really enjoyed seeing how you both rigged it for a permanent style based on what style of sounds you use most. I also when I use Avalanche Run use it exactly in the same fashion, at the end and always in reverse it is to me at the end the best placement in a chain..that is till I got microcosm and ya anything in mode C is nice haha! Sames! Ok that gollum troll comment voice was epic tho haha real MVP is Emily’s voice character acting haha that was great! Really great work on this vid!

Big fan of the staging (and not just gain staging), from the sequencing of Enzo, Thermae, and Microcosm, to how everything is mixed pretty low after When The Sun Explodes to avoid being overpowered. The always-on reverse setup is ingenious, as is the always-ready bass fuzz channel. And you touched on an interesting point which is that your favorite pedals may not be the ones that always work the best together to make a cohesive pedalboard instrument oh my god, she does have the boots with the fur.
