I just discovered your channel.. Brilliant insight into Audi world... I'm old school, 2004 B6 S4 & 2005 C5 allroad. Both were bought 8 & 7 yers ago respectively from previous ownership who cared bout maintenance & all. Currently speccing out the allroad's build list for the 2.7T & Yes the Tiptronic will be upgraded to a better slush box cable of handling 500+ hp / torque.. Being in Sepo Yanks land it is frustrating to see what the US DOT never allowed us to get......Cheers..

I had a mk5 golf tsi 170bhp. It had a rebuild by 50k under warranty so I get what you mean about piston eaters but I LOVED that car, it was amazing to drive

If my memory serves me correct Peter Cook (owner of J&S Accessories) used to own a white GT Coupe with the race pack, didn't buy it from us in Crewe but we used to look after it for him and I remember it having the kill switch on the scuttle. Boy used to run it hard as a track car

Hi Ricky, great channel, so easy to watch. Question, what's the easiest way to check if an R8 has been clocked? I've been told, best way is with OBD tool, but how expensive a tool do you need if that's true?

Thanks for the Gen1 GT explanation. I kinda get why they are still in the +100k range. Mate's not wrong about not f**ing with barnfinds unless you really really want that car. A buddy of mine found a 3.0 Granada Ghia that was parked with 47000km in a barn. Under a cover. It had one dull spot on the side where the sun shone on it for 30 years. Pulled the car out, new rubbers all around, resealed the engine and started using it as a weekender but there was a rhythmic thumping coming from the driveline. Rebuilt the tailshaft, new tailshaft bearing. Still thumping. Rebuilt the axles, new wheel bearings. Thump-thump. Rebuilt the gearbox. Nope. Pulled the rear axle and they found one half of the ring gear that was out of the oil rusted up.

Great episode - really love the walk around, but love even more Karl the "realistic" staff! I do really enjoy the engine shed work - but appreciate that you feel it could get monotonous for viewers. Personally I loved content from Subi Performance when he uploaded in English, as it was a similar level of precision engineering, measurement, checking, measuring, rebuilding, torquing, measuring, repeat... My recollection of his skills with sealant make me cringe when I see other channels use it like bathroom silicone applied through a fire hose...

Dunno why, but I do enjoy your walkabout in the yard. Interesting to hear what you are doing with customer cars. You mentioned frame difference on the GT. Is that extra bracing, lighter or something else?

Friend of mine rolled his skoda 120 in to the field also,some random people helped him to flip it back on the wheels and he drove it to work the same day. It's was full of mud,but like really full of mud and he only broke the spoiler and that was it 😂 Now he got nostalgic and he's building another one with fabia engine.

My first car was a Fiat Uno aswell. 1.1L in a sh1tty off white colour. Still remember the plate C999 UPJ. Jumped a bridge, ripped the fuel line which p1ssed all over the engine/exhaust and set the front alight. Engine cut out, I coasted to a halt, got out and watched my car burn until the fire brigade turned up. Got towed home by the old man with no front end on it and no brakes Good times

The alternator probably won't work on a dead bump start because it needs a reference voltage to excite the field winding before it will start charging.

Hi Ricky. Question: I want to buy an R8. Is there a way to know if a car has been tracked and if so, will that mean the car is worn out (engine wise), or can they handle being driven hard regularly? I have no idea how to find out whether a car has been looked after to treated poorly. Can you comment on how to think about this?

4:20 Johnathan is selling his Samoa Orange R8 GT. It will be on Bring a Trailer very very soon. Keep an eye out. The only issue is it's a US car so it does not have the true bucket seats. It might be listed with the McLaren Senna seats though, not sure if hes going to take those out.

@@bgj2940 most cat values in the UK are depressed. Especially LHD European cars as the Japanese stuff picks up as soon as it can be exported to NA. Can't complain really, I have a V10 R8 whereas if I was still living in the US I'd struggle to afford a Golf R. 😂

Something nice 😂 your car history is shocking but so is mine my bike history rode a yamaha tzr 125 to work for three years then bought kawasaki kr1 250 ex race bike had a Bob farnham tuned engine crazy fast untill I blew it up piston ring locating pins nuff said rebuilt the engine large dog ran across the road I hit it went over the handlebars dog was dead me lucky just badly bruised bike destroyed next bike 98 cbr 600 kept it for a year bought a 2000 zx6r hated it bought a mint 94 fireblade kept it for a year bought a 2000 R6 great bike fast had to sell it coz I met the traffic cops one summer evening I was doing 165 as you do end off story Hi Kate ⚘

You might rag on Honda's,but they are innovators and better built than yamahas, and old Honda's are starting to cost the earth. Don't know why you hate Honda's, early Fireblades 1992 to 1997are awesome, 2001 to 2007 are awesome. And the new blade 2021 on unreal road bikes and that just blades. Rc30/Rc45. Sp1/Sp2. Nc30/Nc35. NR750.Rc213 vs. Cbr 600 rr. That's just my favourite. No one can deny how good these bikes are.
