Is this new plugin from Elementor worth it to add to your agency monthly bill? I tested it. UPDATE: After this video Elementor changed their pricing model. Now the 16,66 euro/m package has 1million credits per year instead of 100k 😁
@@rinodeboer yeap, I used the batch converter for more than 8k images once. The only issue I found is that webp display for background images does not work. It can be fixed changing the image url in elementor adding .webp at the end
Oke, I just tested it. It's looks really good. I wish I knew this when making this video. This seems like a solid option, even though their website claims they are not giving you the full compression power in the free version. So I did put it now as a recommendation on the website livingwithpixels.com/software/ (at the bottom of the page)
Thanks Rino - but a word of warning. I installed Disable Media Sizes plugin first and then installed the Elementor Image Optimiser and ran it and it broke my site! Most of the images in the media library lost their thumbnails and several of the images on the front end showed as broken links. So I had to uninstall both plugins and reupload the images. However I tried it on another site without the Disable Media Sizes plugin and it worked fine.
1:53 Exactly. Do EVERYTHING in Photoshop first, then upload a .webp image. Simple. And if a web designer isn't very competent in Photoshop, then there's a bigger issue lol
Naaaaaa elementor doesnt have adaptive image. It doesnt offer image CDN. That’s definitely a NO. Some image optimizing plugin now even offers .avif. Not really worthit.
Yep...I just ran OVER my image limit....So I thought my limit was 5K in images total...and went back and deleted a couple hundred images to get under the 5k...only to find out that once the points are used to compress...you'll need to up your subscription to compress more. I'll go back to Smush... Nice review video - Thx!
I absolutely agree with needing to keep their current customers happy, this and AI both being separate to the main Elementor subscription, it's just a shit path they are taking, it's giving me more reason to start entertaining the idea of swapping to Bricks, pretty soon we will just have minor updates to the Elementor page builder and have multiple DLC packages for everyfuckingthing else.
Bricks is such a nice jump forward if you work with ACF and dynamic data often. It supports usage of it so much better and more elegantly than Elementor. I am still focused on going all in on gutenberg/the block builder, but Bricks is the page builder I feel best about passing along to clients right now in terms of "easy to use with great frontend performance"
Quite helpful. Though if you are looking for some ideas then I would say that you can create 2 different videos - one for comparison of free media plugins and one for comparison of paid when someone is ready to pay for the plugins and so far I see that there are different plugins that emerge as a winner in the free category and the paid category
Dag Rino, Enig idee waarom mijn Bewegingseffecten ervoor zorgen dat het scherm verschuift op mobiel? Dit gaat 100% ten koste van Cumulative Layout Shift op dit moment.
Hey Rino, how would you approach adding PHP to accomplish this change to the WordPress CMS? Would we add it to either (a) a code editor plugin (i.e. Code Snippets, WP Codebox) or (b) add PHP into the theme file (i.e. Bricks)? I'm also unsure how updating WordPress would affect your custom PHP. If you add custom PHP into a... child theme? like Hello or Bricks child theme, does that remain unchanged when a WordPress update is installed? (
I think it's always the case when you start to edit theme files that updates can remove your edits. Therefor it's smarter to put that code in a child theme, so that when the theme updates your code doesn't get removed.
@@rinodeboer Okay, perfect. Yeah, I've gotten that far with understanding child themes. To clarify, the code within a theme/child theme should remain in tact should a WordPress update be installed BUT the primary theme could be altered if a theme update is installed, correct?
Yes, but from my understanding the child theme is not a full version of the theme. It just contains the code that is extra, but it still relies on the main theme to function. So therefor in most cases it doesn't break anything. Only when the theme decides to change the class names for example, then your code doesn't work anymore. I think that's how it works.
What I’m not liking is when you upload an image in the Elementor editor I get an ad for their image optimizer. That confirmed my decision to permanently move to Bricks.
After the pricing changes, latest update, and this, I’ve decided to say goodbye to exclusively using Elementor for my future WP client sites and switching to a combo of Bricks, Avada and, Oxygen depending on client requirements.
Hi Rino, I have request that please make a video for complete wordpress training guide to get ready for freelance projects and what things should every begginer wordpress developer should have to learn in order to jump into the web market. .???????????????? 🥺
Hey Rino, how are you? I have a question for you, and I hope you can help me out, I started with WordPress way back in 2020 with an intention of freelancing and I learnt some basic elementor with the help of your videos, but due to some circumstances I failed in freelancing and decided to do a job and now again with a greater determination and confidence I want to revive my ambition of freelance product designer , but now a days modern page builders confuses my a lot that to whether to stick with elementor and learn Pro version or should I switch to something like Webflow or editorX etc, please can you give me a brief overview or roadmap.
We're going to stick with Imagify for 2024 and we'll see what Elementor brings to the table with support and updates for their plugin. If it looks like they have real effort behind it, we'll consider it in 2025.
Rino, maybe you did it before; it´d be great a video comparing Elementor performance to Autoptimize, Breeze or WP Cache, and if it still useful to install them 😁
My web host says my website is the largest she services and I want to eventually improve SOE and general performance, but it's a tall order and im not sure I can take it on myself.
Hi Rino, i would highly appreciate if you could do a hosting comparison between elementor hosting, siteground and hostinger and talk in general about pagespeed. That`s something i would be very interested in ;) I really enjoy watching your videos!
For now, I will stick with the jpg format, but I would like to ask if this option will work - can I download the entire folder from ftp with all the photos, reduce their size using a program on computer like FSResizer and put back the folder with all the photos? Will this work or will it break something? Thx!
hello, i have a specific requirement which i am unable to do. i am about to start up a blog, it contains 4, 5 categories, initially i wanted a separate page for each blog categories, but that didn't seem possible. finally i wish to make a different section for each category in home page, which will only display latest or most read article in front and then 'see more' button to show all posts under that category. how do i go about it. can anyone guide me or point to towards any videos in youtube that explains this? thanks. and i want to apply for AdSense also for the same site, so will setting up my blog as mentioned above will affect anyone in monetization?
Great video Rino! Very helpful as usual! Looking forward to you starting your agency together with us :))) Also really interested in the maintenance plan! Thank you!
I think it should be to help visually impaired users browse the web, if there is ALT text, the auxiliary function in the phone will automatically read your description of the image to the users that can't see the picture
@@rinodeboer Good question. When someone with low or no visibility is navigating your website, they rely on text-to-speech. The ALT text is what the computer reads aloud to the users to describe the image. For example, the ALT text of your logo should be "Brand Logo, home", and the ALT text of a side-by-side image comparison could be "Comparison before and after usability test. After usability test was implemented x element". It's not very useful to add alt text to just-decorative images, but Google likes it, so adding alt text to every image is a positive point for the SEO of your website.
Dear Rino, Thank you for this fantastic video! Great job! I have one question: how is this plugin interacting with the already existing image / with the images which are already integrated in my website. Do I have to replace them with the compressed ones? Thank you and keep up the good work!
You can decide to also re-optimise them with the plugin. But if they are already optimised then it will be a waste of credits. Elementor wants you to optimise more than what is needed (imo).
Hey Rino! I hope you and those around you are doing well. As far as your online courses go, do you have a timeframe on when you think you'll launch the figma and the freelance ones?
I am doing good, thank you. I am planning to start working on the Figma Design course this summer. So in a few months I will start talking about it. The freelance course will be the one after that. No exact dates yet because its hard to predict how much work its going to be. I hope you understand 🙏🏻
Great video as always! But I have something to add: Recently I've completed a project and, when finishing it up, I installed the LiteSpeed Cache plugin. If I'm not mistaken, it already fulfills this need, as it both bulk "optimizes" the images and converts them to WebP, as well it even recommends that no other image optimization is used along with LS Cache. I still gotta take a better look on its insides, but superficially for now, I can confirm it indeed gets the job done, as the first website backup I made was 1.42gb like a month ago, and now the second backup, with even more images but after the LS Cache "scan", is at around 0.6gb!
I was waiting for this video after you let us know in the Elementor Pro course that you were reviewing it. Many thanks, it has been super helpful! I would add another user case: I am just starting out but just the convenience of this plugin makes it attractive, apart from the other advantages you mention. The tip on how to make the credits last longer is very much appreciated! 🙏🏼
02:45 Perhaps better than WEBP is the new open source image format ATIV, which is intended to replace JPEG in the long term. One advantage of AVIF images is the good image quality with comparatively high compression. ATIV is now supported by various browsers such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox and even Safari. There are various free converters available. I'm going to try ATIV out in a next project.
AVIF isnt supported by Wordpress for now may be they add support to it in future, for now you need to install another plugin and even webp was added in v5.8
I will try again in few parts, maybe it will be better way. The best quality and optimazing performance - webp, avif (more compression than webp but it "cost" more credits).
Good tools for sharing credits to your clients (you buy 150k credits and share it to clients account), a lot of plans (monthly and one-time), you can uncheck sizes you dont want to optimize (it is built in SP) and a lot of other tools.
Sounds great. I will put it on my test list. What paid plan do you have? Because it looks quite pricy from the website if you want to have a lot of domains.
Hey Rino! Real question, what you think about bricks? I'm a divi user to be honest but bricks seems toooo nice. What you think about it? I would really love a honest opinion from you! Thx and i hope you will make vids forever. 🥳 🎉🎉
Hey! I am very interested in Bricks since it's similar to Elementor but seems more advanced and has better speed. I only have build 1 page in it so far, so I need to do a lot more testing in order to form my opinion. Later this year I will time to test some other builders, and Bricks will definitely be one of them.
@@MatthiasDieAnanas29 Haha, yea that sucks. But they still have an LTD, and from what I've seen in the market is that most companies delete their LTD after a few years. So if you have the budget then I would definitely grab it before it gets really big.
Hey Rino mooie video.
