This was one of the first videos I watched when I first got into animators. I’ve watched Rebecca for almost 6 years now and you have been my inspiration for all of them. thank you so much for this video becca, i'm on my first year of animation at ied and i felt really intimidated by all my classmates, knowing that someone i admire so much went through something similar gave me courage. I also went to Ringling, but didn't make it. I put this video off because I hit rock bottom at Ringling and I knew this video would be triggering, using the prior knowledge that you'd been to Ringling, too. I'm doing a lot better now, so I decided to face this demon with you. I just want to say I really appreciated this video. Seeing your old Ringling art was actually reassuring to my 2016-2017 self that's still kinda trapped inside and going to therapy for it. It actually didn't look very far off to what my old Ringling art looks like and after all this time, feeling like a serious failure, I just want to say thank you for putting this video together.

I was in college when Hurricane Harvey hit my homestate of Florida back in 2017 (I lived there for all the 26 years of my life until my move to Texas last June). Luckily, the college held together and me and my younger brother stayed our roommates’ family’s house the night after the hurricane hit the college because the dorm had the power and Air conditioner turned off by the hurricane. Awesome drawings! I went to the art class at my college that same year and there was only three of us students out there. I drew either it was an outline or actual drawing of the actual Texas steam engine that chased the General in the Great Locomotive chase back in 1862! The picture was when it was fully restored recently, by the way. Yep. I’m still into trains. But hey, I gotta have a hobby! 😊

Wow! Look at the light values on the figures. I’ve always been amazed at how people do those so accurately. That and whatever odd decisions you made, at least you did those decisions with a follow-through to them. As in, you made the decisions full out, even if they look odd in hindsight. The nightmare fuel wasn’t at all nightmarish, it looks deliberate and purposeful based on what your goal was. Always kinda thought that’s what makes art good; it’s done without being only halfway done. It’s full out and followed through. The idea is expressed to the most complete it can be at the time. That’s what I learned from looking at your art showcase: the power of a good faith effort.

hey! i just wanted to say thank you for creating this video! I've always wanted to draw but always felt unmotivated but after watching this video 6 years ago i literally got up and started practicing art and I never stooped and improved so much since then!! if this video wasn't created idk where i would be honestly! i would have still struggled with art haha ^^ I can't thank you enough!!

Thx for this video It will help me out alot with my art class at school. I have my gscs soon in Jun and May time and it is a 10 hour exam but my are going to be longer 12 and a half hour as I have Exeter time and I felt as if I am the worst in my class but because of you I am not going to give up and carry on it my favourite class as I love art and have always had so thx for helping me out with this and showing me that it will be OK as my teacher ripped out a month or two worth of work out of my book. So this might be only a little video but it will help me out alot so again thx for showing that I can do this.😁 I love your video so much so once again thx for everything you have done 💗

I have a better idea: how about instead of claiming that your dreams are dead and you have no chance when you're still a child, you all go look up some tutorials and practice? Whining in the comments won't do anything productive, but if you practice drawing, you will get better at it. ^ ^
