I think the touch bar was actually a pretty brilliant idea but there had to be some changes: first, the butterfly keys were what really killed that mac, but second, the touch bar replaced the function keys *and* it was flush with the device. If Apple had made a touch bar on a keyboard that somehow slanted up a little bit and was *above* the function row, I could see how it would've been very useful. Another idea I've seen floating around is making each key an individual LED that could change based on the app, so like in Final Cut Pro, the JKL keys would actually turn into < > >> keys.

I love the 14 inch size, it has a lot of power but it is easy to carry around when needed. No regrets going with the 14 inch.

This is why I love my M1 Air, I came from some old windows PC that my dad gave me and I hated carrying that thing around, but now that I have the M1 Air I don’t have that problem anymore

I struggled between 14 / 16. Anything would have been an upgrade for me. I was coming from a 2013 15" MacBook Pro. I'm a developer who now runs Docker containers, and does occasional Lightroom / Photoshop work. I opted for the 16" because I don't travel much and when I do I like the larger display. But that 14" looks so nice.

Couple months ago I was debating the 14 inch or the 16, and I went with the 14 since they have massively shrunk the bezels. It feels like Im getting a massive display for the size of the laptop and I love my 14 M2 MacBook pro.

The 14” is an incredible machine. I just plug a usb c into it from my dock and leave it alone out of the way most of the time. Because I rarely touch it, it looks brand new.

I feel her... I just upgraded from a 13 inch 2015 to a 14 inch 2023 M2 Pro, and I'm the happiest! COmbined with iPad mini is perfect for traveling, and planes, and not too heavy to carry. When this redesign came to life, computers got fun again. I hope more brands keep improving their hardware instead of putting a huge gaming laptop full of power and heavy bulks of cooling hardware that only lasts 2 hours on batteries

I have the 14" base spec M2 Pro, and so far it has been an amazing machine, and decision. I came from an M1 MacBook Air and while that MacBook was pretty good, I noticed a lot of the games I'd play would stutter, and my windows would slow down when I had a few applications opened up. Granted, it was also a base spec M1, but after two years, it was time for an upgrade.

I had the hardest time choosing between the 14 and 16. I initially got a 16" M1 Max and loved it, but the 14" always called to me. I ended up getting a 14" M1 Pro on sale, and in the months since I went back and forth, but found myself using the 14" more. I really, really reluctanctly sold my 16" last week, and while I miss it, I think it was the right decision. The 14" is perfect in just about every way.

3 months later update? Ive swapped like 6 times since the m1 dropped LOL currently enjoying my 14" m2 max 96gb 38-core model and i know i have a problem and when the m3 comes out you know ill be going that direction once again even though i dont need anything more

Been a fan of Apple since 1996. Follow you since ever , love your videos. Really hope Apple still means quality. Disappointed in my iPhone 14 Plus, screen cracked so easily, seeing that MacBook 16 inch traumatized me but also really glad you showed it on your review, shows it’s genuine. I got the 16” M2 Pro because I’ve always had the smaller form factor and wanted the biggest and best one. I get the appeal of the 14”, but I love the 16”.

I love my M2 14” it’s my main photo editing machine. It has done every thing I’ve needed it for. The 14” is perfect because I work in small spaces and I can get closer to the screen. The speed of the cpu kicks my intel 2016 14” rear.

I have the 14 inch as my personal laptop. Work gave me a 16 inch that I used for a while, but it was too big. i didn't enjoy it and I didn't feel like I was gaining anything with the extra 2" of screen space. It didn't allow more window. On a horizontal timeline (like Logic, Final Cut, etc) you only gain about an inch of extra space. It isn't enough to make a significant difference. But the extra external case size makes a massive difference. It makes it less "laptop" and more "portable desktop". Speaker quality and everything else was the same. So I asked work to get me the 14 instead and have been so much happier. I have an M1 Pro for personal and an M2 Max for work, otherwise they are the same. Amazing computers. Would never get anything other than the 14 size.

I do have a slight regret going for 16 inch mbp m1 pro. Its heavy to carry around , but I don’t think I can go back to 14 inch anytime as I really appreciate the battery life and the big screen. Plus I don’t travel a lot.

My 16” was such a pain. I loved it but felt because of the size I needed to overly baby it. I was so worried I would drop it or scratch it I ended up using my iPad Pro more than the MacBook. It also would overheat with just running Lightroom and chrome. Now I have a 14” and I love it so much. It goes everywhere!

I went from a 2020 Intel Air......to an M2 Pro 16 inch. I never looked back. I absolutely love it. I find every use out of it and I love the giant screen. 96GB of ram is dope.

I went from the M1 14 to the m2 and the only reason I did was bc I waiting to long and wasn’t able to add AppleCare. Being a previous employee I ended up getting a dope discount and my trade in was worth a lot I didn’t pay much but I’m excited to check out the extra power

I moved from an MD101 MBP to the M1. You must try to imagine how my life changed. From a thick, non retina i5 MBP to this. I am so happy. If you are using an intel laptop then moving to the M powered Mac will change your life (maybe not as much as it changed mine).

Happy with my 16” the better battery life and extra screen real estate definitely justify the weight for me and they fit in all my backpack laptop compartments too (apparently the speakers are better on the 16” but haven’t heard the 14” so can’t comment on that). For your specific use case if you do all the editing on your own and stuff wouldn’t the 16” have made more sense since the bigger body would dissipate heat better therefore sustain higher performance longer? Especially since you maxed it out

Yes, I agree with you and I want to get a new laptop in about 1 year (especially a Macbook) because the laptop I have now is a LENOVO and it feels like the keys are gone and no sound, as if it were coming from a barrel, so far away. And in addition, the glue with which it is glued also comes off. So no. My future laptop will definitely be a Macbook.

This reminds me of when I was buying the m2 MacBook Air & I went with silver cause I wanted to try a different colour. I kept thinking do I really want this colour? Fast forward to a day or 2 later the screen was all messed up with lines. Contacted apple & the only colour they had left was the space gray, so I got that & it matches my phone. I'm in love with the space gray & it's definitely more on-brand for me.

I got an M2 Air last year when they came out. Out of the box it would not charge. I returned it and was refunded. I ordered another and it’s been flawless since.

I have been using the internal MacBook for two years now. The reason why is that my school loaned it to me for the program but once that program is over in August I have to return it. I can’t just go back to pc after using Macs for two years. Also, I want to learn the final cut and DaVinci. I have been editing my videos for school in premiere pro and it looked good for employers if I know more than one editing program. I’m a Graphic Designer so I mainly use Adobe for that. I think I’m going to go with the 14-inch. I notice that using the 13-inch for school it’s easier to carry. I would take it when I would visit my sister in Wisconsin. It would be easier to carry when I visit my older brother at Christmas in Seattle.

I had went with the 14 inch MacBook Pro (M2 Pro) then a couple weeks later it had a display flicker issue. Thankfully I was able to get the display replaced and it has been good since then! That's crazy though how the plastic near the hinge broke for you.

Hello, may I ask if you have noticed display flickering in any particular app? Because I too have a 14 but with M2 Max, and when I raise the screen once it has gone to sleep I notice a very short flickering if connected to a screen via hdmi. So I disconnected and it didn't reappear if I didn't connect the external screen, however if I, for example, open illustrator or Photoshop and open Safari on it in dark mode, I notice a flickering probably given by the contrast with the colors of the white sheet and the grid gray in the Illustrator/Photoshop screen.

@@benshino I haven’t had that, my flickering was with grayish lines on the display. Something internally was wrong with mine, so they had replaced the whole display with the angle sensor. I have a external display, I will try it and if I see that I’ll let you know. So far I haven’t seen that, but I’ll check again.

LOL well I don't fly Spirit Airlines because of the small, cramped seats. Delta by the emergency exit fits my 16" M1 MacBook Pro perfectly. But after a year and half of the 16", I think I'd opt for a 14" but not sure if the battery would last just as long.

I had a hard time trying to get the 17 inch laptop. Got so fed up I decided to get an ultra light 27 Inch monitor which could fit into an A2 Sized Portfolio saving at least $1000 . I use the monitor hooked up to my laptop. Delicious estate !

The struggle of the 14” versus the 16” is real, and I think most of us have to take a journey with the devices to really find our preference. I similarly lusted for the 16” as well, but also landed on the 14”, and haven’t looked back. Random question-have you considered a handheld PC for gaming rather than toting an additional gaming laptop? The Steam Deck has totally realigned my thinking around gaming on the go, and I’m not sure I’ll ever buy another gaming laptop again. It doesn’t replace my gaming desktop, mind you, and of course each individual’s mileage may vary.

Idk but the 16 inch is perfect size for if you love big screen to see what you do clearly and its really good to work and otherwise the 14 inch macbook pro is very portable and powerfull enough for everything you do i really prefer if i need a portable and powerfull device for i can go with everywhere 14 inch model or if i am using only on my desk or at home or office i prefer 16 inch

Did anyone notice the crack on the top right side of the 16-inch Macbook? I understand Justine's issue with that corner, but I also saw that massive crack! Maybe, it is just left over from the paper sheet?

I got the M2 MacBook Pro16 inch and had to return as the trackpad didn’t work out of the box. First Apple product I’ve ever had that didn’t work! I returned and got a replacement but it did make me sad and I needed it for work so caused me a few issues but I got over it.

Niece video 😉 I have m1pro 14” it is crazy fast . I move from windows my first MacBook . And this was very good decision . I’m very happy 😆

I have that defect to. The plastic doesn’t hold on tight. But it’s nut a problem for me. But to be clear it’s not a really powerful computer. It just bugs a lot. Anyway i still like my M2 Max MacBook Pro.
