Sarah - I'm 100% sure everyone here is proud and amazed at what you have accomplished!! Congrats! The cherry on top was the perma-smile you had while driving it around. It's a beautiful car.
I still remember seeing the TT as a concept car in a book when I was a kid, then watching in amazement as it became an actual thing that you could see on the roads. For a model that’s over 20 years old, it still looks futuristic. Great job restoring and even improving on the original design!
I enter 3 vehicle giveaways a month and this giveaway bay far is the most I spent my time and money on. The fun is shopping for items and hand printing the ink on each postcard I mailed was fun. Still! the odds of me winning are low but the daydreaming of owning my 1st project car was worth it and very entertaining. My boring days at work all this month were less boring because of the dream... the what if.....factor. GL to all in getting this gem! I hope you do this again in the future as well.
This styling of this car had such a big impact when it came out and looked like nothing else. Even Toshiba laptops of the period used the styling cues of the headlights in their screen casing. Your sense of style really shines with this car and what you have done is brilliant and has been very entertaining to watch. Congratulations on the achievement. ✔
As a proud owner of a MK1 VR6, these cars truly are special given the timeless design and rarity (here in the US anyway.) Even after years of ownership, I still look back at it after parking and that’s an appreciation that is truly indicative of a future classic. Kudos to you for all the hard work you’ve put towards what is a vehicle that deserves it.
Sarah, It has been a real treat to watching and listening to you this year. Your very good in front of the camera and, and (a stutter...) you somehow seem to stay very clean while wrenching. Your beauty and brains mixed with common sense and patience make you an uncommon RU-vidr. I wish you all the success in the future. I be watching. Thank you.
Great job with the TT. I bought one new back in 06 , the 225 model. I upgraded turbo, intercooler, fuel pump, rails, injectors, clutch, exhaust (3 1/2" straight from turbo back to Borla muffler), blow off valve, all new cooling, turbo , intake piping. Two shops did work and then, tuning. I had that little beast dynoed at crazy (for the time) 485HP, 465TQ (crank). I could easily beat Z06s, turboed 350z's ect...... it was a little monster. I had all upgrades done at 14k miles and absolutely drove the p-ss out of it until 95k miles, with luck and proper routine maintenance, not a single thing on the car ever broke. That car was such a blast.
This is the first time I've seen a build online where I liked everything that was done to it and wouldn't change anything. Not that my opinion and tastes mean anything, but well fucking done! Whoever won this is lucky!
I had a 2000 1.8t for 4 years 10 years ago, it was very reliable, only thing was the last year i had it my window on the passenger side went bad. Loved it so much!! Just watch out for that oversteer snapback ob rain and snow.
I can't believe how fast 3.5 years just flew by! You definitely killed this project, this car is now (hopefully) a legitimate daily driver that you can have fun in, and there was many times you wanted to turn your back on it, but you didn't. I just want you to understand this Sarah: you've definitely inspired many people with your dedication and I hope you never stop doing what you love. It's just nice to have a purpose in life, you know, even if that purpose constantly gives you headaches and frustration, the end result is worth it.
I love the emotional attachment to the car you have. Only car people will get it. Hardest car for me to part with was my 2004 Cobra. Was my dream car and owned it for 5 years. Miss it everyday! Great build and I'm sure the winner will be stoked to get it!
Watched you fighting with this car from the beginning on. Finally you made a perfect giveaway out of this. Great job Sarah. Honest review. 😉Ende gut, alles gut, as we say in Germany. ✌️
I remember when you drove it home, a miracle it made it. I lost track of how many times you took that front bumper cover off. The best part of this video is how happy you are driving it.
It wasn’t a labor of love, at least not on the TT’s part. It fought you hammer and tong all the way. It qualified as a problem child and you still managed to show love to it despite it’s fighting you the entire time. Those of us who were there from the beginning can say we remember when it was extremely uncooperative! You deserve a medal for patience and perseverance on this journey. I was ready to call in an air strike on it in your behalf. No one should have to put up with this much grief. You’re exceptional in every way and you have great help to! Cheers Sarah and lots of love to you for this monumentous effort over time!😃👍🏻💖
The first Sarah-n-Tuned video I saw was when you were doing some of the early suspension upgrades, and it's been quite the ride to get it done. I agree it's got a lot of character and tons of old-school charm, both things missing from most of today's computerized safety pods. With all the upgrades and general repair work you've done, I wouldn't be surprised if this car is actually pretty reliable, despite Audi's reputation of cars that become money pits once they are a few years old. I hope whoever wins this truly appreciates how unique it is and doesn't just turn it into a museum piece that never gets back out on the road where it belongs.
A friend of mine had an early TT. It was the first one I ever saw and I lived in Beverly Hills where you saw everything. It was the coolest sort of battleship grey colour that has just recently become very popular but at the time was unique and that made this car look like something from another planet. It was also really fun to drive.
The Beatles said it best...... And In The End.......The Love You Take, Is Equal To The Love You Make. The TT, made by or remanufactured by the Love of Sarah, so adeptly reviewed with her enticing marketing skills, and provocative use of "T & A", in this video, makes this a Special Car!!! Bravo, Sarah. Now for the Gumpmobile
I have never seen you smile this much while doing a car review. Just look at her smile when she is going to show the undercarriage of the TT. Emotional Sarah. Very understandable 👌 👏. Great job. 👍
Learning is the only way. When I started I made all my test gear from a book which then examined how your project works. I made logic probes that show the output from the IC thank you for your time and great knowledge.
So happy you were able to finish it in time to do one your wonderful reviews. When you were giving the final scores, you were a little emotional and it makes sense. You put so much time, energy, and money into this project and wound up with something that is so much better than what you started with. Love your channel!
I bought a 2005 TT sLine 3.2L Quattro with DSG back in 2007. It been my daily driver ever since. In my first ten years of ownership, the only thing i had ever had to fix on my TT was a $40 brake light switch. Just recently, i had to replace a fuel pump And I finally replaced the cluster to fix the dreaded red screen issue. But that has been it. Engine and DSG transmission have been bulletproof. 16 years and 140k miles this TT has been the most reliable, lowest cost of ownership car i have ever had.
Nice to see our favorite Short Stuff again, even if it's only in a flashback. "The little Audi that could" has really come a long way! Congratulations on such a great achievement, your hard work has really paid off.
Sarah, your journey with the TT has been interesting to watch. I’m the TT owner in Colorado that sent you the Schnell license plate and the jump drive of TT “stuff”. I found your channel while searching for anything TT related and jumped in very early in the adventure. Your growth as a presenter, wrench turner, and humorist, has been amazing. I’m hooked and look forward to your following builds. A thought if I may, and as you noted in the last video that TT was DOA, dead on arrival. It saddened me a lot that someone or some series of owners abused the car that much. You did what I sure most of us thought you could do and not only breath life in the car, but sent it to the beauty salon and the gym. On a last note, please don’t continue to share that Audi(s) break all the time. I’ve had in this order (1990 90 20vq/2001 A4 Avant 1.8t quattro/2002 TT 1.8t 225 coupe, quattro/2005 TT 1.8t 225 roadster, quattro/2005 TT 1.8t 225 coupe, quattro/and my wife’s 2000 TT 1.8t 180 coupe, quattro) we have put the better part of ½ a million miles on them and the only real “ag” was the “bomb” (pressure vessel) in the 90 20v that need replaced more than I thought was necessary. Heck the Audi(s) have given me less problems than the several Porsche(s) I’ve had. Please keep up the great work, and I look forward to hearing what car you’re replacing the TT with.
Exactly. I have a TT 8n 1.8 T 180 fwd since 2006. I never had a problem with it, and it is currently 190,000 km. It has always been well cared for, and it is an extremely solid car.
Congratulations. Well done. Always liked the lines to the TT. Interior is top notch, Corbeau seats, rear seat delete, and all the fine details you addressed. I cracked up when you gave the wrench score of 1.4.
I owned both a 225 when it came out (without the spoiler or ESP) and the VR6 with the double clutch auto. Love your enthusiasm and your amazing work on this beauty.
Amazing work! Out of all the car RU-vidrs whose build series I've seen, yours feel the most _real,_ both in the sense of attainability and in terms of how clear it is how much work you're putting into them. Whoever wins this car will be very lucky, and I hope they take care of it as well as you have.
Great review! I confess, that I got a little emotional watching you do this video because of all the time and work you put into it. It felt like we were there with you along the way.
Congratulations Sarah on 400k!!!!! You and your channel deserve it. Can't wait to congratulate you on 500k! The TT looks amazing. It amazes me on how some cars look a little gimmicky when new, but look up to date 20 years later. That Tot is one of those cars.
Amazing! I watched you do this from the start and its wonderful to see it finished. NOOO DONT SELL! Cant believe you don’t want to keep it its lush. You have done an amazing job. Show winner.
Sarah you did a fantastic job restoring that little tater. Congrats! From what I see, you made it better than it was the day it rolled out of the factory. It's beautiful inside and out. Well done!
That is pretty impressive that everything is still working/not broken. I have a 2001 VW, all the plastics are brittle/breaking, all the Audi's from that era I have looked at have been a wreck of broken buttons, displays, lights, ect...
By By Teeter Tot! Not my favorite car at all but you did such an amazing job on it, Sarah. Whoever gets it is getting a better than new TT. Good luck to him/her. Such a nice thing for you to do Sarah giving this car away. You are truly a class act. Weird and awkward (which is why we love you) but a class act none the less.
U r a Incredible person/technician/mechanic ~ I love that Audi, and all the upgrades/cleaning/passion you gave that heap...and now a Gem ~ the colour is perfect with those seats !
Congrats on hitting 400k. Loved the journey with the TT, it’s been fun to watch and damn you sorted that car out. The improvements are spot on for that car.
"This car sucks to work on period the end" You took the words right out of my mouth. I have the 2002 audi 225hp roadster convertible. THE BIGGEST PAIN IN THE ASS TO WORK ON HANDS DOWN!
Tenacity is what you have Sarah to complete a project like this...I have been a German car mechanic going on 37 years now - I entered to win...however knowing these cars so well, I pray I don't - even though you made it one of the best TT's in the country 😉
I never understood this 8n TT story was problematic. I have a TT 8n 1.8 T 180 since 2006 and never had a single problem with it. Basically, it's just maintenance and nothing else, now it's 190,000 km. Maybe I'm very lucky, or maybe I just know how to estimate my car so I don't get any nasty surprises.
Congrats on 400K!!! Still hope I win in spite of how much of a pain in the ass that car has been for you over the years. You did a great job bringing it to where it is now.
Well done Sarah! 400K subscribers and on your way to a million. Your content is fresh and educational. I loved the journey with the TT (it looked painful at times). You take on projects and add humour to a sometimes humourless jobs(ie. Mr. Dos). Keep it up!
Sarah, I absolutely love all the attention, effort and dedication you put into this car! I've been following you on the journey, eagerly waiting for new videos, eventually giving up on it until I just now discovered this one. I own a silver mk1 TT myself and it's great to see how you brought yours back to life! Unbelievable to see the before / after! I also appreciate that you subtly enhanced it cosmetically, without ricing it out and sticking closely to the factory look. What a great car!
Great review Sarah! Thank you for all of the hard work, blood, sweat and tears you put into this project. Also, thank for you the time you spent editing the video and now that it's done I hope you can get some quality down time.
Congratulations Sarah I’ve watched every moment you’ve filmed on this project and your standards of work and cleaning abilities stand there with the very best It’s going to be the best one ever built I love mine but it’s standard and on snow tyres just for a Scottish winter I love your mods especially those seats How you can part with it I’ll never know 🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
I’ll bet you’re glad to be finished with it😄 it looks great and seems to keep you happy regarding all the upgrades and final performance. A successful project, well documented and impressive in it’s completed form. I hope it’s new owner appreciates what you’ve done as your thinking and efforts border on art. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 I’ll be hotly anticipating the next project.
Audi TT Mk1s are one of my favorite looking cars ever. I just bought a 2001 roadster in amazing condition in nimbus grey. It’s art. It drives better than my old boxster (Porsche) did, the interior design is just as gorgeous as exterior. It sounds great and love the turbo.
Those seats are the sprinkles on the sundae, so dope! Amazing resto, it looks and sounds awesome! Someone is gonna be so lucky, hope it's me! Congrats on the clean machine Teetertot!
Thanks Sarah for the journey and adventures with all the ups and downs and ups again. I will always fondly remember the song you played in that video while driving back with Sarah and TT. Cheers.
What could be more perfect than you getting this project completed so excellently, producing one of your best ever car reviews, AND breaking the 400,000 subscriber mark, all at once! Congratulations, Sarah! 👍👍👍
If, in the past, you had told me I would spend hours watching someone recite every known detail imaginable about cars I would have laughed at you ... until I watched this lovely woman ... thank you Sarah!
My favorite things on this car are the plaid seats, the rear seat delete and wheels/tires, but the attention to detail throughout the whole car is amazing. I watched every video of this project and it's awesome how well it turned out considering where it started and the major PITA it was. I give it 4.9 penguins!
Sarah, I was driving to North Brunswick NJ on a back road yesterday and saw a dark grey TT sitting up on blocks in someone’s driveway with no wheels on it. I thought, cool Sarah has inspired someone else’s obsession.
Hi Sarah, you've made one of the best TTs going. Congratulations on the years of hard work paying off. I've always wondered one thing, how does a woman who works in cars almost daily keep such stunning looking nails? 💅🤔🙂
Absolutely love the Audi TTS I know nothing about them I just look at how they look, and they are Sharp my 10-year-old son pointed out they just look like a stretched out beetle bug for a moment it was a letdown, but I quickly went right back to loving the style of this car. I've almost purchased one a couple of times. You shed a lot of truth about this car, I would really like to have one it's awesome, great job.
Teeter Tot is a brand new car. You did a fabulous job on this old Audi. It really sounds great and better than the TT we wrecked on Mission Impossible II. I would love to own this car.
Your comment about Audi reliability surprised me. I have owned about 10 Audis over the last 30 years, including 5 TTs, and I've never had reliability problems with any of them.
I started my career in 1978 fixing Audis at Vasek Polak Porsche-Audi. There were still 100ls models coming in and the 4000s & 5000s were new. Believe me, Audi ALWAYS made the most unreliable pos's in the industry. Love your videos Sarah! Keep up the great work. It shows, how much you put into them.
Sarah, congrats for your 400k subs, that’s HUGE! Keep rocking, I’ve been enjoying your content since you’ve just broken through the 50k…. And I’ve enjoyed every bit of content you’ve produced, be proud you’ve created a class on its own! So for 400K more and remember only your imagination limits you, so keep reaching for the sky, you deserve it!
@@SarahnTuned That's the humility and honesty that I and others find so endearing! You are the unassuming star that will continue to shine brighter and brighter...get used to it.
