Thanks for the upload. My car appears to leak oil but it's very clear like unused oil. When I checked with the long rod, it's black. I'll wait for a few days and observe if there is really a leak or someone is playing me some tricks.

my car started to leak overnight, it was a faulty oil pressure switch. A 10$ part could have ended in a massive engine fail... luckily I noticed it before it was too late.

Not changing your oil often helps incl your PCV valve.Change it every 4,000-5,000 miles.

I have a 1975 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400, I've replaced the transmission seal and dipstick seal. Earlier I've replaced the gasket covers and oil filter. It's leaking on the back of the engine to the exhaust system.

Yeah when the mechanic starts to panic and signals you to come quick thats a red flag for me. Thats a sales guy not a mechanic. We all know the type. Panic you into doing very expensive repairs. I just nod my head and take the car. I dont play that game

i have the Kia SEdona Money Pit of cars. Recently it was lurching/surging and smelled hot - extra lights were going off. Oil was almost empty. It will make a grinding sound for 2 seconds but it won't start. It did not seize up and was driven it to driveway. Oil pan replaced 18 months ago. Any guesses. Also, i spill some oil while adding it. Would that run over and out to the driveway if I didn't use a funnel?

This is what my mechanic said..... SOME SMALL AMOUNT OF OIL IS COMING FROM HEAD GASKET. SOME FROM FRONT OF ENGINE. SOME FROM 2ND PART OF OIL PAN. ALL IS VERY SMALL. Does this mean I need to replace the engine? Last time he replaced a valve cover gasket and there were no leaks until after I drove it. What should I expect because he suggested selling it because cost to repair engine was more than it is worth. I have a 2003 Ford escape with 164,000 miles on it. Now he says I need to replace the front seals, head gaskets, and the upper oil pan gasket. Now he says to just get another vehicle. Said if I replace the engine then the transmission wont last and will eventually cost me 10,000 + dollars.

I am going to be taking Two Ford Rangers to a garage to have the engine and transmission from one put into the other. The one with the engine has a oil leak coming from the back. noticed when I put a slab of corrugated from a taken apart box under it overnight. What should I ask in the way of having them fix the leak when they have the engine out to swap it? Or I should say where all could the leak be coming from?

Hi Frank. I really enjoy your videos. Thanks for all the information you provide! I have a question. I was smelling oil inside my 2004 Nissan Frontier truck for quite sometime. Yesterday, I took it to Nissan, and they could see that my valve cover gaskets were leaking. So, they replaced the 2 gaskets, and cleaned up the oil that had dripped onto the sides of the engine. Well, I drove my truck home, and I noticed during the drive home I would still smell oil, especially when I came to a stop at traffic lights, but even more strong when I got to my home, and drove up my driveway.... which is only about 25 feet long, but it has about a 30 degree slant. The smell of oil was quite noticeable. Do you think it is possible that there is just more oil located in other areas of my engine that are still existing ..... prior to having the gaskets replaced ? I plan on taking my truck back to Nissan, but I was curious as to what you think the possibilities might be, regarding the fact that I'm still smelling oil inside the car? Thanks so much! :-)

It is rounded shaped and see oil thats dryed on it,I made sure it was coming from there. 2002 Nissan Maxima 3.5 V-6 automatic. My friends car had an oil problem when he got home from work(about 11 miles).When he pulled into the driveway, he noticed smoke coming from under the hood.He saw some oil on top of the engine and when he checked the oil stick it was showing no oil. Today, his mechanic came over and replaced the serpentine belt(the longer one), spark plugs, 2 used good ignition coils and 2 valve cover gaskets and manifold gasket. After driving for about a 1/2 hour, the same thing happened again. It's not the oil pan plug or oil filter or oil pan gasket or oil cooler or the oil sensor. I can see under the car where the area is that the oil is coming from but cannot pinpoint the leak. His so called mechanic says"look here. it's coming from the rear valve cover gasket!? Maybe he was wrong this time. Could it be the pcv valve or hose? GOD bless and thanks so much for your help and video.

Thanks for the video, my 2014 Chevy Captiva with 82,000 miles on it engine blew driving on the expressway, no warning lights or anything once the car stopped my husband looked under it and he saw oil had it towed to a GM dealership bc the car is under warranty. since the engine is locked the dealer can't inspect it internally but is saying that it's the oil shops fault, as oil is coming from the filter, how can that be infact true if the dealership is saying that the can not inspect the engine internally. they also stated that they found medal shavings in the oil. i had my oil changed less than a month ago didnt notice any oil leaks

my z31 (1986 manual) has a leak under the hood towards the middle of the car, when i start driving it you can smell some sort of burning smell just that idk if its the burning oil or not. My dad told me it might be leaking from the steering wheel fluid because when we where driving it it started squeek alittle, i dont know what the problem is but if you can reply it'll be a huge help

Hello, I have a 2006 Impala. It runs good, but it leaks oil. Now, I put oil in it 2 weeks, ago. However, I had to put probably a quart of oil in there today. Maybe, a little more than a quart. Now, due to this, do you have an idea where the leak could be coming from. I ask this, because when I changed my oil, I noticed that the bottom of my engine was saturated with oil. From 1 to 10, I will say the oil that was on the bottom of the engine was like a 5 or maybe 6. But, on and off, I would see a few spots throughout the week, where I be park at, at times. So, will this problem cost me a lot of money to fix?

I have a 2009 bmw 328i coupe and the car is burning oil. When I start up the car in the morning it throws blue smoke from the tail pipe for about 6 seconds then stops also when I'm driving normal it doesn't smoke only when I accelerate hard or put it on sport mode and the to me rise a could of blue smoke come out of the tail pipe and I can smell burning oil from the engine. There's oil coming out from where the oil cover gasket it at can the valve cover gasket leaking be the cause on this?
