Nice collection, but you have holes. There are 3 « Blade » movies, you have only one. You have « The Cell » but not « The Cell 2 ».You have « Critters Attack » but not the « Critters » boxset, which contains from « Critters 1 » to « Critters 4 ».You have the « Mission Impossible » movies, but not the TV serie boxset. You don’t have any concert. No collection is complete without at least one Rolling Stones concert and essential musicals like « Across The Universe » and « Rock Of Ages ». The « Police Academy » boxset is also a must-have.
I like action , horror , comedies , and the list goes on with many I'd like for there to be more Jim Henson films because Labrenth and Dark Crystal are two absolute favorites of mine .
You got a cool 4K/Blu Ray collection! Especially the Disney Blu Rays, which I mostly keep because those are out of print. Also, I wouldn’t upgrade to 4K Blu Ray for classic Disney animated movies, since they won’t have anything that special, and some deleted scenes would be edited out from the 4K. Preserving those movies in their original cut is really important, since streaming services mostly shows an edited version of those particular movies!
I always love seeing the random movies people have in their collection. A move that I highly recommend you add to your collection is Code 8, I absolutely love that movie. It's definitely not for everyone but it's a solid story with great visuals and its getting a part 2 and possibly a part 3.
@movint6968 its in a world with powerd people. The powerd people have to be on a registry to work or risk being thrown into jail. There is a big human trafficking ring to pull spinal fluid from the powerd people, their spinal fluid is a powerful drug. Any more and I'll spoil it but it's alot better than it sounds.
I hope that someday you meet someone with their own server running plex with 4000+ movies. All blockbuster hits and no bs like streaming services. You will be blown away.
I have officially watched this entire video! That. Was. Awesome. Thank you for doing that. It was a fun multi-day journey. I want to do a video of my collection too, but I keep waiting for my movies to be more organized first. My favorite is to organize by genre. That way I go to the area of movies I'm in the mood for.
You've got far more blu-rays than I expected. Also a lot of stuff I wonder if you'll watch again, I have the same thought about my own much smaller collection.
With the huge amount of movies you own I was curious if you ever watch all the special features on the discs or do you just watch the movie and move on to the next one? Also if you do watch special features what are you favourite kind? Audio commentary/making of documentaries/deleted scenes etc?
The Donnie Darko 4k special edition from Arrow was the first thing in my collection. I loved the movie so much I had to own it in the best format. I picked it up at Best Buy and saw how nice the packaging was and instantly looked up Arrow Video because I had never seen a movie come in a little box with a book and poster. Now almost 1 and a half years later im at almost 200 movies in my collection. The Candyman, Robocop, Enter The Void, and The Wolf Of Wallstreet special editions are also in my collection.
What a bout. Lair of the white worm. The thin red line. A simple plan. Pathfinder. 13th warrior. 9& half wks. Spun. Transporter. The professional. True romance. A scanner darkly. The Darkman. Rivers Edge. Three kings. Out of sight. Moonstruck. The Apostle. Zulu, Patton. The dirty dozen. The magnificent 7. Shooter. Awakenings. Sling blade. Contraband. Whiplash. The color of $. Splash. Bachelor party. Golden child. Lake placid. Eden Lake. Wolf creek. Cold creek manor. City of industry. The 5th element. Choke. Sexy beast. 3 days in the valley. Bird man. All good things. State of play. Tinker tailor soldier spy... Altered states.
Glad to see you highlighting the Tony Scott/Denzel Washington collaborations, all excellent and highly rewatchable. Actually, I enjoy all of Tony Scott’s work, even more consistently than his brother’s films. Sorry to lose him so early in life!
The BIG question is… would you ever consider digitizing your collection for posterity? I LOVE this collection and my Amazon cart has about 77 thousand dollars worth of movies on my wishlist haha! Love your channel! #BOSTON
I'm digitizing mine and I estimate a collection the size of his would take around a thousand hours of work, assuming you're not naming files while ripping them, and about 75 tb of storage, not counting for a backup and assuming you would keep all the special features. If you're just going for the film itself it'd be a fraction of that time.
@@JeffRauseo You're welcome! Some of the timestamps won't be able to appear as a chapter because it's too short, everything else should work perfectly.
How dare you?! You don't have Snake Eyes from 1998 Nicolas cage and Gary Sinise directed by Brian De Palma. Just KIDDING its only available dvd 😢 can't wait for the 4k release
Kids have a amazing ability to take dvds out of the case and scratch them. I'm old enough to remember my kids tearing the tape out of our vhs tapes and i had to use scotch tape to repair it and roll it back on the roller. 📼 📀
I will never be able to own an amazing movie collection like this, so I love watching this over again, Also, interesting how many movies involved satanic titles, I know you said it’s not 1945, but the thought that these are no longer offensive is far from the truth. Cheers.
My OCD was going crazy with a lot of your sequels being out of order but I managed! Just a minor correction, you mentioned Lon Chaney from the Hunchback of Notre Dame also playing The Wolfman. That is incorrect. It was Lon Chaney's son Creighton Chaney, billed as "Lon Chaney jr." to capitalize on his father's fame who played the Wolfman. Lon Chaney himself died of throat cancer in 1930.
Never saw wild things before the 4k and what a Rollercoaster of a movie! Very amazing 4k transfer, transported me there. Sound was very good as well but not too much going on that would work it out alot, bust still very amazing nonetheless
Great job showing us your WHOLE collection. I watched in like 4 sections. I know you're more into horror than comedies but I have a couple really good ones you should get. They are Night Shift, Amazon Women on the Moon and Better Off Dead. They should all be on bluray but not 4k.
50:55 Yes! I love Speed Racer and have been waiting so long to see a 4k release of it. I'm not sure we'll ever get one unless they decide to make a sequel or something.
5:41 Apollo 11 documentary is really good. Got it on 4K Apple streaming. Looks good for a documentary. The audio is amazing. The bass when the rocket takes off is crazy. Also saw it in IMAX. Felt like you were being punched. It’s a must for someone with a good subwoofer.
It’s really cool to see a full movie collection from you man. I’ve seen some people do this in the past, but it’s been awhile since I noticed anyone do anything like this. Your collection has always looked cool from what you show in your videos, so this will be really cool to watch. Take care!
Excellent timing! I'm just building a new shelf for my blurays because I ran out if storage capacity a while ago. In fact the design was inspired by one of your shelfs I saw in one of your earlier videos. :D I'm not entirely sure whether I should sort my collection the same way as before and therefore I'm glad I can see your approach. :D Let me just get my Letterboxd watchlist ready and I'm good to go. :D
Seems to be mostly Blu-rays and 4ks. Are there just not many films only on DVD that you find worth owning? I enjoy lots of old mystery movies that only ever got DVD releases, and I have a lot of movies that at least as of now haven't made it to blu ray
I've been collecting dvd movies, TV series, and cartoons since they came out, approximately 16 hundred, in the last five years I now purchase blu rays and 4 k releases, If I upgraded all to blu ray or 4 k I would be in bankruptcy court,
Might have missed it, but I didn't see Robin Hood Prince of Thieves LE 4K from Arrow Video in there - do you own it? I's be interested to see what you thought of the transfer for a review. Enjoying the content 🙌

I don't understand why you have 48 hours and another 48 hours in "A". Move them to the numbers since 48 Hours came first, put Another 48 Hours next to it and think of it as "48 Hours, Another"
When seeing this sort of collections i often realize that my collection is also kind of big. i own 1300+ dvd's, 150+ HD DVDS, 800+ Blu rays and 200+ 4K discs. Not counting my lasersdiscs, VCD's, UMD videos and CDI movies :) The movies are not sorted in any order. I only sorted them by media. My problem is that i still have sealed movies on every format. Do you immediately watch them if you buy it or do you have a backlog as well? Its awesome to see someone with the same passion and seeing the collection. Gives me inspiration to sort mine collection alphabetically as well hahaha :)
Great video! I just have to say that there’s no way you can ever rewatch everyone of these movies again. I’m sure most of these movies you collect rather than actually rewatch them. If you watched 2 movies everyday for a year that would be 730 movies. You probably have 5,000 - 7,000 hours of content at least. That’s insane.
Hey man sorry if you answered this already but where did you get your rotating shelf from the beginning? Running low on space at my place and I've been needing some compact shelf space like that. Thanks!
I love your collection man. I’m like you with Home Alone only kept the Macaulay Culkin ones since the others suck. It’s a good thing you still kept the movies incase streaming acts weird. Your a bigger movie guy then me.
wow his box sets aren't organized by either label or alphabetically. imagine putting second sight stuff next to other random crap that doesn't go together. shameful and embarrassing
@@JeffRauseo and also no more mixing up your boutique shelf’s. Criterion, Arrow, Shout, and Vinegar get their own section. Also leave a couple movies of space on each shelf so u can reorganize easier when u got a new movie. You have every shelf so tightly smashed together in order to put a new movie in you gotta shift the entire shelf!
Very nice! My problem is I have a small collection and have been buying faster than I watch, so something has to change... either I buy slower or watch faster.
I know you are riffing off the top of your head, but... Dementia 13 was never lost to my knowledge. In fact, it fell into the public domain. Also Lon Chaney of 'Hunchback' was not the Wolfman, that was his son, Creighton aka Lon Chaney, Jr. and eventually just Lon Chaney.
@films at home I own Pan's Labyrynth, and it is a 10/10 film. You said that the Criterion Blu Ray is better? You have piqued my interest. Is it worth picking up even if I have the 4k? Sell me on it!
I just crossed over 1,600 movies. Would have alot more but i only buy movies, or i should say, i keep the movies that i actually like. And at an average cost of roughly $3.75 per movie. I also do not collector stuff. Special edition stuff. I just want the movies, i get most of them as used, so long as they functionally work/play that is all i care about.
One small pet peeve--why aren't your movies in alphabetical order? It sure makes them hard to find when they're out of place. So many horror films that I almost quit watching, since I really despise the genre. But, I hung in there until the end.
Do you have any advice on how to watch imports? There are a number of Blu-Rays that are only released within a specific region, and I wasn't sure what to look for in terms of a region free Blu-Ray player, which I imagine I need to get.
what percentage have you actually watch......my collection is prob half of yours and to be real i prob only watched between 40 to 50 percent of them......i have alot i never even took the packageing off
Confused by your sorting method even though you explained lol. It would bug me to have stuff like Annabelle, alien etc not next to each others respective franchises
Thank you Jeff for being on YT. I watched many I mean.. maany of your 4k blu ray reviews and they helped me a lot what to pick up. I'm from poland where 4k blu ray retail market is still at his infancy and lot of people still watch DVD's, not to mention blu ray's. Keep doing a great job.
