Wonderful video - I was able to attend the summer session you offered late in August on how to implement an ELA program. You shared a link that had so many valuable resources and I can not wait to dive into your resources in Grade 3
Maryana’s language art resources are amazing. I love how she organized the anchor charts. I have been using her writing and reading in class and it is the best. My students love it!
Thank you for this :) I will attempt to use this format/ schedule in my grade 4 francophone teaching. Obviously different I CAN, but roughly the same ideas Marie :)
Hi Maryana, this is very helpful! I got your schedule right away! Thank you so much! I will be purchasing some resources on your TPT page soon. Much appreciated. Deep.
Hi there! Wow! This is gold!Do you have a list of picture books that you have found are best to use for the different reading and writing skills and strategies? For example, books that have a good variety of sequencing words.
Normally I'd recommend the program My Classroom Economy, but my understanding is that they have since stopped providing the materials + the program which is a bummer. For now I guess, to keep it simple, just print off your own currency for your classroom and start simple like that?
Thank you for this video! Your system sounds so organized and fun! I love how organized your system is. I would like to use your curriculum, but I teach a grade 2/3 split. Do you think the grade 3 curriculum would be too difficult for second grade even if I required less from them? It’s challenging to teach two separate grades with two different curriculum!
Hi Michelle, thanks so much for your comment :). The notebooks have a decent amount of writing involved, so for grade 2 I would say it might be much for them to write BUT you could always make photocopies of the exemplar pages. I'm not sure what's involved in the grade 2 curriculum, but I'm sure many units would overlap.
WOW this is such a helpful video. our of curiosity, what is the toothy phonics program? I. see she has a k-1 one but feel that could be too low for grade 3 and 4.
Thanks so much Caitlin :). I show the video of my searching for it on tpt - it says grades 1-3 on the grammar resource but it’s SOO in depth. You get A LOT in the resource. It would definitely be beneficial in your grade 3 class.
Thank you for the video. I am teaching a 3/4 split this year. Do you use one resource when you have a split or teach separate lessons for the different grades? Also, what are the numbers before the I can statements? The new curriculum doesn't appear to have those numbers anymore (or I'm blind).
Hello! Many of the lessons in the ela notebooks overlap with the new curriculum, which is nice and convenient :). Since grade 3 has more outcomes, you could get by with using the grade 3 one, and then supplementing it for the grade 4s with the additional lessons you'd need. I have a video that goes over how I number my resources. If you watch my Going Over the Grade 4 ELA curriculum or the same title for grade 3, you can see how I do it.
This is great. I really want to refine my language arts time. Could you possibly make the home reading program editable? I’m in the U.S. and we don’t follow the same learning standards
Hi there, I requested your ELA program, but did not receive it. I also didn't receive an email confirmation. Is there another way I might get it? Thanks.
Hey! Did you confirm your email? You’re required to confirm your email, then you’ll receive a link to the download in the confirmation email. It’s to weed out the bots.
