Thank you! Haha, no. I just thought I would go through all of the Morgan’s I had. I actually had never really looked at my full collection so it was nice to get all of them out and look at them. I know I have a lot of raw circulated Morgan’s. Maybe I will do a video going through those at some point.
Haha that’s great! At the beginning it should be easy to acquire the easier dates at a reasonable price but once you get to the better dates it will get more difficult. I wish you the best of luck!
@oble5621 yes been buying ms 64 common old ngc mostly $90-$100 and a few pcgs rattlers for $120-$140, I sold my 1893-s a few years ago, maybe get that soon in good-vg, but it must look decent.
My understanding of the cac coins are they do not go up a grade or half grade just because it has green sticker just means it represents a solid 67 for the grade it was assigned no bumping up half or whole grades if so it would have gotten a gold sticker but the whole system is not exactly correct I have seen buffalo nickels with gold cac stickers that people want way more than 2 full grades would cost and nobody can explain the thought process it’s just a stickers and when guys think they have something that maybe only few have then they think it’s got worth a bunch rite beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say
Thank you for the feedback. I know what you are saying on the ms 67 Morgan I was talking about. From my understanding CAC gives their sticker out to the upper level coins for a particular grade (let’s say A and B examples for the grade. For the 1885 p Morgan from 67 to 67+ it goes from about $2000 to $5000 (book value) so the CAC sticker really helps. Most CAC examples that I have seen for the 1885 Morgan go for around $2500 while the non CAC go for around $1500. I think CAC can help a coin that has a high grade and it helps having 2 companies look at a coin so you have 2 opinions. I know some people don’t like the CAC sticker but it seems to help especially on high end coins.
Got lost. You have all the different grading companies represented. Which do you like the best. Also do you like the GSA horde packaging, or break it out and get the standard slab packaging?
Thank you. I probably like PCGS the best but NGC is very similar. The PCGS holders are a little bit nicer to me. ANACS is a great service as well. They are much more affordable and I have found that their grading is pretty strict overall. You can get some better deals with ANACS and still have quality coins. I love the GSA hoard holders. I would never crack them out because it’s basically a part of history.
A lot of great specimens here, really nice collection! That 1884-O is undergraded if it's problem free. I know it's the commonest of all dates these days but might be worth a crackout or crossover.
@@fifteenbyfive I agree! I submitted that coin to ANACS and I thought it had a chance at a MS 65. The cheek was very clean. ANACS is very difficult on Morgan’s. They love giving 63s lol
@@jadonnoble5621 Yep on camera it looks like a shot 65. ANACS is a lot more conservative than people realize. Just because they're cheap doesn't mean they're easy. Maybe it's best to leave it alone. It's kinda cool to have a prince of 63s. I think its better to have an undergraded coin in a holder than an overgraded one. That probably doesn't confer with the value or sales price, i just think it's cool.
You started late on buying Carson City Morgan dollars. Yes they've always been expensive but during cove that they went through the roof and I think that's a little bit inflated. But always good to have a Morgan dollar and a slab I traded a whole bunch of my extras for key dates
Yes, I agree that the prices of CC Morgan’s are slightly inflated because of Covid. We will see what happens in the future. I don’t think they will drop down much in price but that’s the nice thing about Morgan’s. They keep their value and often increase in value over time.
@@jayburns7962 thank you! Yes, that’s my favorite as well! If you ever have the opportunity to buy a proof Morgan for a fair price I think it’s a no brained to buy one. They are so beautiful and really show off the design to its fullest potential.
Yeah man. I was thinking about possibly selling some of my CC Morgan’s off but I knew I would miss them when I sold them and it would cost a lot more to replace them. I hope you are able to get your CC collection completed again.
Nice coins for sure, if you get to the point of wanting to sell them please reqch out to me. I am a collector too and would like to add those to my collection as well ❤
@@buildingAbiz thank you very much! I will definitely let you know if I ever want to sell any of them. I will have to look through them again sometime soon. I think there are a couple I might want to sell.
That’s awesome! I’ve never really looked for VAMS but I do know there are several that are worth good money. I might have to start researching VAMS when looking at Morgan’s.
Can’t believe I missed this video. What a cool collection. So I was gonna say the 67 was my favorite but then you pulled the PF64 out. Hands down the best. But what a stunning collection. I’m doing a date/mint mark set. Doing 2 actually, raw and graded. But still have a ways to go. Awesome video man 👍
Thank you so much! Yes! I agree that the proof Morgan is definitely my favorite as well! That’s so cool that you are trying to complete the full Morgan dollar set! It’s such a big series it will definitely be tough to complete. I don’t know if I will ever try to tackle it completely lol. I hope you are able to finish it!
@@jadonnoble5621 I’m only 3 away from finishing the date/mint mark set. Not all graded though. But I have been trying to upgrade as I go along. I have been focusing on getting more slabbed
@@SpokaneSilverStacker that’s awesome man! I am no where near completing the set. Maybe someday I will get as close as you are to completing it. That’s impressive!
That’s awesome! I don’t know if I will ever complete every date and mint mark of the Morgan dollar series but it would be cool to complete the entire set.
Very enjoyable to see you go through these Morgans, esp the CCs. If one wishes to park some money in coins, Morgan CCs seem safest, due to their universal appeal. You have so many wonderful examples. Not an easy task. Congrats.
Thank you! I agree. CC Morgan’s are definitely a good investment and seem to hold their value really well. A wide variety of collectors collect them which make them very easy to sell. Thanks for watching!
Very nice collection. Each one of these Morgan Dollars is so unique. Anyone who loves the CC's may want to consider adding on to their collection the 1890CC Tailbar and 1891CC Spitting Eagle. I have the Spitting Eagle MS64. I do want to get the Tailbar but it is not cheap.
Thank you! Yes, I have heard about the 1890 tailbar at and the 1891 spitting eagle. I was looking at getting the tailbar but it was quite a bit more than the regular coin. I might look into squiring these to my collection in the future. That’s awesome that you have the spitting eagle in ms 64. That’s a really solid example!
Haha Thanks man! I was fortunate to get many of the coins before Covid so they were much more affordable. It’s tough to get nice Morgan’s at a decent price these days!
Thanks man! I was fortunate to pick up the GSA’s before Covid. They used to be pretty affordable. Now they trade for a lot more. I did notice that the prices are starting to level off. You might be able to find some decent deals if you are patient.
Thank you! Yes, I got pretty fortunate on the CC Morgan’s. I bought most of them before Covid and they were all pretty affordable. Eye appeal is definitely important when buying a Morgan dollar:)
Thank you! I was very fortunate to score both of those coins. I always wanted a really nice Morgan example and a Proof Morgan. It took a while to find them but my patience paid off lol.
