S 1 Ants and grasshoppers. We have folk tales for a reason. The ant is feeling bad that the grasshopper siblings didn't plan for bad times. Tsk tsk

Story 1. I'm sorry, but is anyone else mad at the parents? Sure, at 1 point they were like. Oh, I'm so sorry. It's our fault. We made them so dependent on you. But then they turn around and say but it's still your problem. You guys need to figure it out for yourselves. It's like you just admitted that this situation is because of your actions and you're still standing on the sidelines I don't know, that's just me.Personally, I'd be more mad at my parents than at my siblings.Even at the end, when everything solved I would still be a little iffy with the parents. But that's just me.Maybe i'm just crazy

Shame the ending lasted longer than the story

A bunch of years ago my friend purchased a house that was built about 120 years ago. Everyone in my friends family was a building contractor….carpenter, electrical, plumbing with grandfather & Dad were general contractors. My friend had mad building skills. The house, for well over a decade, had been used as college student housing~subdivided into many small rooms with kitchen & toilets shared. The place was beat to hell. My friend saw the “bones” of the house & saw restoration as a challenge. My friend was an architect. He knew what to do. He resolved to have some modern features but also to maintain the historic ambience of the house. It took years to rebuild. During the process he allowed a cousin, going to the near by University move in. It was an entitlement disaster. Bit by bit the house returned to it’s glory days. My friend allowed family stay for limited periods of time. His house became the Thanksgiving & Christmas family gathering spot. With his large man cave Super Bowl, Final Four & other sporting events were watched in his home. If a relative drank too much they could spend the night. His girlfriend moved in & loved the slowly being restored home. Cousins & his Dad sometimes helped. They always were willing to “check” if a plumbing or electrical plan was up to code. On his property was a building that began life as a stable for horses, carriage’s & sleigh. All long gone. Now it was a 3.5 car garage. Upstairs garage became converted into a large apartment with a bath & elegant kitchen. As to the issues. Relatives wanted to move as the house was huge. They could live close enough to work that this would be great. They were willing to pay rent but not the level of rent in other nearby apartments. Older relatives wanted in because they didn’t want to do senior living facilities. Of course they expected the master bedroom & the master bath with its jacuzzi. He & his g/f talked about marriage & children. She was not a fan of their house was turning in a full house. People eating up groceries & using up laundry items & never replacing them. My friend is feeling stressed. As the house nearly finished he wonders if it is time to sell.
