I recently found my favorite performance of "Le Sacre," with Markevitch conducting the Philharmonia Orchestra in early 1959, on SACD. It was expensive, but of the 80-odd recordings I own of that work it's the best. Interestingly, I had the late 90's Testament CD and the SACD is much cleaner sounding. The dynamics on both are extreme, but the Testament has a slightly nasty brightness that the SACD lacks and it sounds more natural. With the lights off in the listening room I feel like I'm there with them all. Fantastic stuff.
Not sure why you don’t like the Sibelius disc with Kyung-Wha Chung. It was a brilliant performance. BTW, I bought all the disks in your collection as per your recommendation 😀
