A quick look at my EDC gear that are core essentials. Nothing too fancy here just a phone,, wallet, watch, keys, and earbuds. I like to keep my pockets as light as possible.
Phone: Nexus 5X (Great old phone but I wouldn't buy one now because of its bootloop problems)

I just saw two of your videos, love them. I've seen a lot of guys who talk about their recommended tech and it's always the latest and most expensive stuff. I really like how your EDC isn't the most expensive pieces of tech that came out a few days ago and that you can admit you tried the smart watch/dongle thing and decided it wasn't worth it.

No problem, man. I just love the idea of your videos and the quality! I have a little request: Since I'm moving out of my parents home in not even a year - could you maybe do a ''budget flat Setup'' with everything a flat needs like: Desks, Table for the kitchen , sofabeds, chairs etc. I mean you have nearly all these in single videos but i think your style choices are always amazing. Maybe you can find things that fit well depening on the color or material etc. Hope that makes sense, since English isn't my first language i tried my best. :D

similar to my EDC, I have also nexus 5x and bellroy note sleeve. I also use already mentioned Orbitkey for keys and Pebble round smartwatch. Very happy with all of these items.

The Nexus 5X is a solid phone for the price. Decently quick, and the same camera sensor as the Nexus 6P!

How is the battery holding up in 2019? I already feel that the life of my Nexus 6P’s battery had degraded to around 60%. Drains/charges super quickly now 😢

Hi David! I have a suggestion for an elegant key carrying solution that would be very much your style. It's called the Orbitkey, from an Australia based company. Not only does it eliminate the sharpness and noise, it also caters to portable storage with the USB accessory.

My EDC (not at work) consists of a S&W MP40c 40cal, extra mag, streamlight flashlight, SOG spring assist tactical knife and a set of cuffs. But then again, we live in different worlds.

Look into SlimFold Wallets. They are some of the thinnest (yet practical!) wallets on the market, I've used them for years.

David, you should check out the orbitkey 2.0. It's a great way to condense your keys down to something more contained in your pocket. Might even be able to come close to matching your wallet.

I may have a nice solution for your keys, Orbitkey. It's a nice minimal organisation with a touch of leather. I use it and it's very nice. You can always clip something extra on there also. Have a look! :)

I have almost the same EDC items, but for *exactly* the same reasons: - Slim single fold wallet - Nexus 5X - Simple mechanical watch with kinetic winder - Plantronics Backbeat Go 2 (recommended alternative to Jaybird's) - 2 keys on a mini carabineer clip It's like a bizarro list of the basically the same things

That depends on what you're looking for. For a reliable/accurate time piece most quartz watch should work. But if you're looking for a stylish/luxury/timeless piece than that complicates things. I was thinking of just buying a bunch of cheap watches off Amazon and testing them all out in a video to see what is crap and what is not. Anyone interested in seeing that?

As far as I'm aware, even the cheapest of watches will be extremely accurate at time-tracking as long as it's quartz. Quartz is universally cheap/reliable/accurate for time pieces, so I really wouldn't worry about that. Watches become less accurate (off by a couple seconds a day) as you get into mechanical watches that are spring driven like mine. But that's because people who buy these luxury watches appreciate design/craftsmanship/status over functionality.

I am so glad about this, though I try to be careful as much as possible. I put coins, eyeglass cleaner and keys on my wallet pouch and I always make sure that my wallet's zipper has that ring so I am always holding it while card and big amount of cash on my bra. I am always holding my phone and if I am not I put my phone on my right back packet because I can feel better on my right especially when I am having those moment where I think too deep and I wear my earphone just on my left ear (I can hear better on my right so I use it for my alertness) and play music as a sign that I still do have my phone. And my earphone always goes under my clothes so it won't get on the way.

Personally, the standard watch is the only way to go. I personally think smart watches are silly and useless. For the price of a smart watch, you can get a nice Seiko, Citizen, etc. that lasts forever and looks great.

I agree. I'm still hoping smart watches become more useful but for now I'm happy just with a nice watch.
