i only use Royal Mail 48 hour tracked for 99% of things usually small parcel through Ebay is £3.29 covers upto £150 had 2 things go missing over 1000 items

Royal mail are useless, my ebay was shut down because they struggle to deliver books and small items.

Plus need to queue to get a proof of purchase without which you're s out of luck. Even with it they'll use every excuse to not pay out, and takes months of protracted communication. Only worth it if you have a cast iron receipt for original product, so for a bargain find at car boot, charity shop etc completely pointless usually. They will not pay out your eBay sold price.

I’ve lost two Royal mail items in 100’s of sales and both times I got my money back straight away within a week. I did have proof of sending, but it was quick and easy. I’ve never had a problem. I just screen grab what I sold it for on eBay.

I will never use Evri regardless of how cheap they are. Although Royal Mail seemingly don't want large letters anymore as they are pricing them out.

I stopped using Evri (then Hermes) a few years ago. I only use them for big bulky items now as it’s just easier for me. Royal Mail is the way for me for all small parcels, the posties tend to care far more, they are more likely to know their houses/customers and they simply handle things with more care.

I never send valuable items with EVRI. Royal Mail 24 or 48 tracked are more trustworthy for me.

I had hell with Evri and Inpost last year and a 4 week plus madness with RM in same period. I would still choose RM first.

Ive always used Yodel and they are the cheaper option atm! Cant go wrong with them

Package it well and it will get there in one piece (every delivery company has a packaging guide on their site). Switched from Royal Mail to EVRi over a year ago and not regretted it - only one parcel gone astray when it was 1 a week with Royal Mail. ArrowXL and Yodel are the same company and I avoid them. Don't wrap items in bin bags or carrier bags, if using a box make sure it is at least double walled for rigidity (cut up some recycled carboard to double wall a crisp box) and make sure you pack out any voids with filler such as bubblewrap, paper , packing peanuts etc. Never stick the label across the seal of the box and remove all traces of any previous labels if using a recycled box (including all barcodes). If the box has hazard warnings for previous contents (including liquid warnings) remove them or the delivery company you use will assume you are posting a prohibited item (most delivery companies wont allow you to send liquids or aerosols including perfumes, nail varnish and paint).

@georgef822 because if the box is going to burst, weakest part is that seal and your label will get ripped. Basic stuff really.

This thumbnail Evri shop looks very familiar. I must be very lucky with Evri. I sell breakables, I don’t pay up for cover as you’re not suppose to send breakables with them. So no point in paying cover. The only problem I get is the odd ‘you unpaid the weight weighed more’ email.

Inpost is now using Rm 48h with no size restrictions, if you have a locker near you its a possible option

My whatnot parcel from you was delievered by evri i think? The guy broke the bottom of the gate trying to force it when it was locked then he threw the parcel over the gate and it nearly hit my mum! I don't rate them.

My local Hermes driver used to take photos of items and put them back in his bag, lost two pairs of Jordan 1s worth 300 total. So I now only use Royal Mail, plus the collection works for me. I wouldn't trust the Hermes driver in my area to collect from my parcel pin even with CCTV

Keep at it with Evri, emails etc until you get talking to an actual human and not someone reading off a script. I had a similar experience but Packlink were in the middle so was more easy to contact and ending up getting a payout and if you have to tell them you'll take it further to a small claims court. Hi Jon, I've only been reselling for a few months and have been using evri the whole time. I've had no problems with them even over Christmas until this last week.... three parcels lost or damaged in the space of a week, so I have been thinking of switching who I send with, but realistically, chances are this could have happened with any parcel company. So I'm trying to weigh up if it is bad luck or if I need to make the switch.

Evri are good for small parcels but every single large parcel I’ve ever had to me has been battered. Arrow Xl which are just evri for large deliveries are useless. Dumped a brand new sofa on the lawn during covid and refused to even bring it round to the back door so we could get it in ourselves. Useless twats. Complained then the next parcel delivered a couple of days later looked like it had been dropped from the warehouse roof.

I only use royal mail to be honest! When I sold my car, the question I always got asked by the likes of we buy any car etc was "do you still have your parcel shelf?" Honestly!
