My mom was diagnosed with it and passed 4 years later. She was one of the testers for the AZ medicine back in the day that helped develop the medicine this lady is using to live her life everyday. My mom was only 36. Live boo!! Do you. There are millions that didn’t get to live to see an old age you have that opportunity.
I just ran past this video. I commend her for telling her story to the world. She's strong, willing and able. Being HIV positive is not the end of the world. It's a new chapter in her life. I'm glad she told him, that was his opportunity to stay out go. He stayed because he truly loves her and she loves him. I pray that yall nuptials last a life time. 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

I'm sure he is HIV positive too. He wasn't when he met his daughter's mother but if the daughter's ex husband gave it to her then he gave It to her father as well.
The pregnant mother takes a medication throughout her pregnancy so she won’t pass it along to her baby. Also, a lot of times a C-section is performed for these pregnancies. Modern medicine has come a long way praise God

@@lareinelester685HIV medications very advanced now. You can take medication to be in undetectable status and be able to not pass it along. As well as you can take medication to protect your self from it as well.

I think the perception that people catch HIV because they sleep around is crazy. Alot of times people get it from people they trust and are monogamous with.

People are so uninformed about HIV. Happy she is showing the world how if someone is undetectable, you can be with someone and have children without passing it.
People aren’t uninformed about HIV. They are right it can kill you if left untreated . People need to educate themselves about how great the medication has gotten over time. Compliance with medication is what is keeping this woman alive and from not spreading it .
I remember when I had a newborn many years ago and my positive friend came to see him and just looked at him in the crib and I said," you don't want to hold him?" and she told me that by the way her family treated her she just became programmed not to touch anyones kids. I was appalled! I said we all just wash our hands and that's it! Unless you and the baby are planning on exchanging bodily fluids, I think we're safe. She laughed so hard at that! I'm glad I made her laugh but the ignorance about the disease was still so prevalent in 2002. It was ridiculous. I told her when he gets older you can kiss his little cheeks too just like we do.
Her husband is truly an amazing man 😢. He willingly chose to love, embrace, and marry his wife, knowing that she had HIV of no fault of her own. I'm glad she was able to find a man who genuinely loved her, and not just pretended to do so 💕☺️.
I think the world definitely needs to updated/re-educated/educated on HIV. In the 80’s and 90’s they scared us soooooo bad and have NOT made any effort to help inform the world about all the advances and the “new” information that is out there. There are a lot of myths, misinformation and fear that needs to addressed and put to rest! For those of us who do not or do not knowingly deal with anyone with HIV it is not on our minds to learn or educated ourselves so thank you for the video.
That's not exactly true. They had many programs going around discussing safe sex and spreading knowledge overall about the disease. Awareness has heightened for many (especially within the Black and Latin communitiea). However,there does need to be an updated version introducing the medications and treatments and preventative measures that are available now.
This is happening so often. Many women in monogamous relationships are getting HIV/AIDS from men living double lives. I consider this intimate partner violence as well. I'm glad she stays on top of it all, and I'm glad they are getting counseling.
Exactly. This is why syphilis was almost eradicated in the US, but these men doing this type of behaving. The congenital version of the disease has exploded. And there are some men who will get treatment and not tell their pregnant wife

It’s not about “being a man” because he would still be a man if he didn’t want to step in to be with a woman with two kids, but I’m proud of him for taking the time to adequately educate himself before addressing the situation and if he wanted to move forward.

And be honest with her partners about her status there’s someone in my family that’s HIV positive and she doesn’t tell any of her partners her status so I think people should stop being so judgmental that she sharing it always could be worse her passing thisvirus and not telling anyone. She needs to be careful with not disclosing her status to “innocent” people who she’s involved with. That’s how people get hurt. That’s actually selfish and tacky for her not to disclose that information.

I think you are inferring a bit too much on what the little girl meant. Expressing that kids shouldn’t know about certain things doesn’t mean that the conversation is unnecessary. Instead of you being annoyed at the parents for talking about it, be annoyed at the former spouse who made the HIV conversation necessary.
